☻ just came here for the third time this Saturday morning (still here and just sat outside with a hot oat latte on this steamy day haha) and had to take a second glance at their window when stepping in because THEY RENOVATED! The new interior is better in my humble opinion because there is now so much more space for both customers and staff. Very capacious. White and pristine and a bookshelf of coffee-table books. The backyard is as remembered which is a relief ✿

she's pricy so def go on payday but trust me you get what you pay for with these sandwiches, they're to die for, staff are always nice, bathrooms clean, and the tables out back are adorable, 10/10 spot, bonus points because you usually see cute dogs out front

My favorite local spot in Bedstuy!

Today I wanted to surprise my bf while I was at work for his bday with his favorite sandwich (Carra Focaccia — get it, so good!). I asked if they could write “Happy Birthday” on the order and look what they did!! Look at all those impeccable hand-drawn hearts! To whoever that worker was, I hope you see this and know that I appreciate you! haha <3

lovely italian cafe with a perfect back patio to lounge while eating/drinking. friendly staff and relaxing morning vibes. top tier foccacia sandwiches, although on pricy side! overall, would come back for the sandwiches but grab coffee elsewhere.

flat white: thought it was too milky. maybe try latte next time.

manzoni foccacia sandwich: probably the best foccacia i’ve ever had. the bread was perfectly crispy, ingredients ratio was balanced and loved the slight richness from the truffle. would get again!

The espresso was 10/10, it tasted just right. The shop was so cute and had outdoor seats. The croissants and avo toast was delicious and employees are so nice :)

Good food and a nice laid back atmosphere. We ate in the covered patio in the back, which was warm enough to be tolerable even though the weather was well below freezing. The food was on the pricier side for the amount that you get, but the ingredients seem to be high quality.
The picture here is the Manzoni sandwich.

I'm not a coffee lover, but Corto might turn me into one. The coffee is exceptional, they really know what they're doing. Excellent pastries and salads too! The vibe is perfectly chill, I love reading there! Just the right amount of buzz. You can't go wrong with this spot, try it!

They’ve become a weekly stop. The sandwiches are amazing and despite the fact that the shop is constantly PACKED, they take no longer than 15-20 minutes at the longest! Also top tier iced latte.

If I remember well, this place opened during or right before the pandemic. I was wondering if it would make it and what a nice surprise! They improved the space making it much more comfortable to seat inside, the outside area is nice and quiet, often busy. The coffee is great. The owner knows his stuff, whoever knows Corto Maltese (likely to be the inspiration of the name) has good taste!

They use exceptional ingredients that shine in the sandwiches. The coffee was delicious too. Plus, their outdoor spaces are cozy and comfortable.

Hands down, the best spot in BedStuy. Do yourself a favor and go try their sandwiches, pastries, cocktails, and most importantly- their great Italian coffee! The crew is so welcoming and caring, the energy is familiar and relaxed, great music, lovely backyard… I can’t say enough good things about this place!!! Go and have a good time- you won’t regret it :)

Some of the best sandwiches I’ve had- worth the price. Everyone I’ve taken or recommend to this place has said the same.
Cool coffee drinks as well. Espresso-based beverages never miss and apparently their orange juice is good too. They also have some new specialty Italian beers ;)
In terms of service, I’ve only had good experiences here. I agree that sometimes it takes awhile for the food to come out but hey, they have a small cooking space.
Another note: I saw a review by an Asian woman about how she was treated here and I want to offer my experience as well for anyone who is concerned about feeling safe and welcome here (fwiw, I’m also quite visibly Asian and a woman). I’m always greeted warmly by the same guy she mentioned and today, it was quite busy when I came in and got a sandwich but he brought out an extra table for me after seeing me hammer things out on my laptop on the tiny bench inside. Earlier this year, another staff member actually turned on one of the outdoor heaters for me when it got a little chilly. I’m very happy with the level of service here.

This place makes us feel like we are at a legitimate Italian café. The coffee is superb and unique. You won’t find these espresso combos at any other café in Brooklyn. The paninis are the best sandwiches outside of Italy. The cheese and meats are authentic and delicious. The owner knows what he’s doing! Nice outdoor space in the back as well. Love Corto!

The focaccias are great, more like a Roman Pizza Bianca than a Ligurian focaccia, being. Risotto and thin. They are not overstuffed but still all the flavors come thru.

The coffee is very nice, both espresso and drip.

This is one of the best cafes in Brooklyn & honestly maybe in New York because it gives you a sense of home paired with great coffee & a unique array of Focaccia Sandwiches. This is a real deal Italian joint as the owner is from Torino & not the middle of New Jersey

Cannot rave about this place enough! Best coffee in the neighborhood hands down and the best layout/space. Pretty sure they’re extending too. The staff are kind and sweet and you can get an aperol at 3pm. Love love love.
