Chicky's General Store

I came here for the first time today and was excited to try one of their sandwiches. Bed-Stuy doesn’t have enough sandwiches spots! I ordered the turkey sandwich, a bag of the Mams Zuma’s Revenge chips and a chocolate chip cookie. The sandwich was good; I got it with mayo and mustard which gave it a good blend of savory and zesty. The cookie was way too sweet, though; I have a sweet tooth but the sugar in the cookie was overpowering, even for me. Loved the chips! I don’t see that brand a lot in NYC so I was so happy to see Chicky’s carries them.

I’ll definitely be back.

I enjoyed the Chimichurri Steak Sando (Seared steak, roasted peppers, provolone cheese, chimichurri, mayo, arugula, on ciabatta.) My husband had the chicken salad sandwich which we also enjoyed too.

Sandwiches are so good- better than Mekelburg's imo! Recommending ordering online in advance for pickup.

Excellent upscale coffee shop with a variety of gourmet grocery options and fun pastries! The sandwiches are delicious, and the staff is very friendly. Stop by for a coffee, a chat, and more.

Love Chicky's... I honestly only started going to Chicky's because of a friend who's working there. It's not cheap but you're definitely at least getting quality stuff! Especially the sandwiches are always tasty and the coffee is great! The store is super cute, stacked with a lot good snacks! The employees at the store are always super friendly, detail oriented and patient. Especially Laura - good vibes all day, every day! Check them out and get yourself a Chimichurri Steak Sandwich! Delicious!

Breakfast sandwiches are on point. Nice assortment of canned and bottled goods. Coffee was delicious as well. Make sure you call the order in ahead of time.

the food is so good and the staff is always so friendky a d accommodating. this in stark contrast to their neighbor across the street, at chicky’s I never have to wait long for more food, nor made to feel like an absolute burden for attempting patronage. highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches, and the cortado which comes in a tiny little cup ☺

Surprisingly nice for the neighborhood. Hidden between trash and raunchy bodega you'll find fancy cheeses, pickles and great sandwiches.

This was the first place we get food from when my sister moved to the neighborhood. The service was awesome. They were so friendly and informative about the area. The sandwiches we got were amazing. Perfectly blended flavors, the break was wonderfully crispy. We tried the Italian and the Tuna, both delicious with very fresh ingredients. We will absolutely be visiting again!

A fantastically rare and genuine situation that many Brooklyn businesses should take cues from. Staff is always incredibly nice, music is always the best, coffees are great, gourmet sandwiches and foods sublime. At first visit it might seem pricier than many other places but all you gotta do is stay put for 5 min take a look around, ask the folks there about what they have and you'll get it! They truly go the extra mile and really have a wonderful feel for their produce, their goods and last but least the neighborhood and it's customers. I love coming here and in this rare case willing to sacrifice a little extra I don't even have, just to have more of this in my Brooklyn life!

I stumbled on this neighborhood gem when I was looking at some new apartments. I was looking for a quality coffee, but left with a great sandwich, some prepared veggies and small snacks (plus good coffee). I really liked the country-store vibe with it feeling 'local'. I will be back for the chicken cutlets and meatloaf when back in the area. Thanks!

I love everything in it. The aroma you embrace once you open the door is absolutely delightful! It's a beautiful place to be. The restaurant is across the street too if you want to enjoy a nice sit down.

I live right around the corner from the newly opened Chicky's and today I decided to stop in to see what was what. On entry I was met by an awesome friendly staff as well as a smorgasbord of local snacks, stumptown coffee and menu of house-made sandwiches and salads. On the recommendation of one of the staff, I ordered a pork sandwich (al pastor with pickled pineapples and slaw on baguette) and goddamnit if that wasn't the best sandwich I've had all month.

Most excitingly, I noticed several coolers full of locally-sourced produce, meat and seasonal veggies from farms around the area. There were seasonal selections (ramps, fiddleheads, black radishes) along with onions, potatoes and local bread. It also appears that soon there will be another cooler containing seafood and fish. I'm currently planning a meal made from ingredients I'm going buy from there within the next couple days.

Excellent addition to the neighborhood. Friendly people, excellent selection and great food. I'm excited to say I'll be going back again.

Having guests over and need cheese, meats, salads, sandwiches, pastries - all fresh and delicious. Same quality as Eugene and Co. Down the street. Great addition and source for quality fresh food.

Great bkfast sandwich.

Very impressed with this store. This was needed in Bedstuy and they delivered. Fresh organic produce, locally sourced meats and fish, good coffee and a great selection of prepared foods. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Good job!
