We came up for Steak Night. It was a vibrant friendly atmosphere. Dining al fresco the food was grilled over peach wood and chef served, my friends enjoyed a bottle of their award winning wine and we all drank in the most stunning views.

Well, First Jayme and Steve were recently voted Colorado Winery of the year. so there's that. They have earned it! They work so hard to bring the best wine out their fruit. They are also the most enjoyable people to be around. They are welcoming and are so appreciative of your business that you just want to come back and bring friends. Steve is so good at telling the story of the wines. Jayme makes you feel at home in their backyard. It's casual, rustic and romantic. The views are amazing. Bring appropriate clothes because the weather may change. Steve and Jayme bring in the best chefs from the area to do wine paired dinners, or casual Friday night bbqs. Their whites and rosés are always spot on. There are so many to choose from! We've made some great friends there. See you there!

Thank you Jayme and Steve and congratulations!

Made it to Steak Night! I thought we might miss it this year. Caught the last one. The wines are nationally and internationally renowned, and Chef Joseph Kerns knows his stuff! Jayme and Steve are amazing hosts.

We recently visited The Storm Cellar for Steak Night with Chef Joe. Steak Night is every Friday during the summer. The food, atmosphere, and views were amazing. I would recommend stopping while you are here.

We love The Storm Cellar!

Steve and Jayme take the time and walk you though their winery!

An amazing husband and wife making some of the best wines in Colorado!

Their vineyard is a small but busy operation. TSC always host amazing dinner parties or other events that include talented chefs throughout the year!

With that amazing view, plan to spend 4-5 hours enjoying all TSC wines!

Very favorite winery. In addition to the fantastic wines Jayme and Steve are awesome. In 2023 I had family visiting and even though they weren’t open for the season they allowed us to visit, wine taste and buy wine.

This is the best vineyard, and the best dining experience you'll find in western Colorado, and I'm not exaggerating a tiny bit. Superb, award-winning wines, superb people, and views to leave you breathless. If you have time on your visit for only one stop, make it this one!

I’ve stopped by here a time or two through the years and somehow still find myself making trips to see Jayme & Steve at The Storm Cellar…

It’s probably Murphy and Leela (the dogs) or making a pit stop at Old Blue (the 5 star lavatory covered in stickers), but every time I stop here I also have to try a few new wines…

A few of my faves:

NV Gewürtz: if you don’t know what lychees smell like, after this wine, you do.

DNB: After working two harvests, I get it. Alison Wonderland got me through my darkest times in a cellar

Riesling (any): Riesling is what led me to this winery from South Florida

Rosés: They all slap

If you have a chance to stop by to meet the dogs & maybe try some wine, would highly recommend!

P.S.
(Don’t let the word get out too much because seating is limited, but their dinners on the mesa are some of the best meals I have had in my life)

This place is such a magical place and has such a laidback vibe with upscale service and wine. You will have to go up some windy roads to get there but the road is in great condition and the directions are well marked. Plus the view is well worth it when you get there. I went on a Friday night when they had a visiting chef serving ribeye and fish kebabs. They had picnic benches, string lights, and corrugated steel shelters which created the perfect ambiance to enjoy the incredible view. The wine is phenomenal. The couple that started it were sommeliers in the denver dining scene so they definitely know what they're doing when it comes to service and wine. My favorite is the Sauvignon blanc but you honestly cannot go wrong with any of their wines. I love that this is a working farm and they were very welcoming. A lot of the locals were visiting so you know this was the place to be on a Friday night in hotchkiss/Paonia. This place is a must visit if you're ever in the area and even a reason to come to this area!

What a great place to spend an afternoon! The wines are fresh and crisp. The tasting room is 'cozy' and there are lovely seating areas outside. I'm mostly a red wine drinker, but find their whites worthy and fabulous when it's warm out. My new favorite winery for white or rose' wines. Well done!!

Absolutely love the wine and the owners of this place. They are so passionate about what they’re doing and always, no matter how busy, make you feel as though you’re the only one there. Some of the best of Colorado wines!

Have been to this winery twice now and it is one of the best experiences I've every had at any winery in Colorado. The owners are extremely knowledgeable, personable, and so friendly. They took the time to sit down and talk through each wine, and answering all of our questions. We walked away with plenty of new knowledge and amazing wines! The property is breathtaking and their meticulous attention to their white wines are delicious. Great social media presence to follow as well. Highly recommend stopping by here on your wine tour!

Surprised there aren't more reviews of wineries in the area. But we happened to come across the Storm Cellar and are happy we did. They have award winning wines, and were some of the best white wines I have tasted across Virginia, Texas, and Colorado. Definitely add the SC on your list of places to go. Great view of the mountains and vineyard up a scenic gravel road. We ended up buying a case, heavy on the Rieslings.

What's not to like about drinking great wine in front of an expansive mountain view while Border Collies run around being adorable? Haha! Love this place, and owners Jayme and Steve work their butts off. They're truly inspiring!

My boyfriend and I spent two days in the Hotchkiss/Paonia area and Palisade wine tasting. The wines we tried at The Storm Cellar were the best hands down and the interaction we had with Steve, the owner, was the most personable experience of the two days! Steve is great and his passion for making the best Whites and Roses in Colorado shines through the entire tasting/tour experience. We showed up on a Wednesday, which isn't their typical tasting days (weekends I believe), but Steve dropped what he was working on to give us a tasting. Great views from the winery and they are working hard at creating a unique experience. This is a small owner operator winery where the wines, the views, and the passion of Steve and his wife are the drawl.
