Espresso Paeonia

Great coffee and great vibe. I just got a job in Hotchkiss and heard I needed to check this place out, and I could tell it's a local favorite as soon as I walked in. Morgan was whipping up 3 different orders while chatting with the locals. Americano was amazing. I'll definitely be back.

I was delighted to find this gem on a recent trip to southwest Colorado. The coffee was wonderful and I am something of a coffee snob. The thoughtfully designed outdoor seating area is also place to enjoy. It is under the trees and beside a gurgling stream. This place deserves five stars.

Morgan is very knowledgeable about coffee and knows how to pull the perfect shot. If you’re in the area want to try a properly good coffee, don’t miss Espresso Paeonia.

Came in 2 mornings in a row. Service was outstanding, espresso was as well.

Morgan's coffee shop is exactly what you would hope for being situated next to a bike shop — a small space that packs a big punch. Yes, this is specialty coffee (he uses Sweet Bloom coffee, pre-doses his shots, and has an eclectic assortment of mugs), but watching him take three orders while pulling a shot while carrying on a conversation is pretty incredible. His hospitality is some of the best I've experienced.

Coffee nerds: note that this is more of an espresso-focused shop. Morgan offered to make me a pourover (yes there's a Stagg kettle), but we landed on an Americano instead which was fairly distinct (decaf Huila, Colombia).

Small, locals coffee shop. Not a lot of places to sit; but the space is nice and cozy. Friendly service and “the best cappuccino I’ve had in a really long time”.’

Wow, some of the best coffee I've had, and I'm from Portland! You can't pass up this little coffee shop! I got their mocha which I normally find a little too sweet but theirs was just right.

This place was a little off the path, but one of the only places open on Sunday morning. The small cafe, connected to a bike shop, was very cozy ad they have a 'pick your own' mug situation happening - my favorite part. The latte was delicious, thought about getting a second on the way out! They also had a good pop up outside doing breakfast and it was gormet! I really enjoyed their small outdoor area- highly recommend!

Best Coffee in Paonia!

Top-quality espresso with local characters. Great place to hang out under shady trees, meet a few locals, and drink a great cuppa. Quality of the pull is as good as any big city. Rotating local pastries depending on the day.

Great latte and pleasant service. Nice sitting area outside in the trees. Taco truck in front for those in need of serious food.

About time this town got a coffee shop. A very good coffee shop to top it off. Morgan is wonderful and knows what he's doing. I frequent just about every day. All kinds of drinks, pastries, and some food.

Amazing coffee, Morgan crafts it with pride. Quaint little place that is the social hub of the town in the morning. Plenty of outside patio seating to experience the tranquil early morning of Paonia.

Small high quality coffee shop run by exquisite barista. The outdoor seating under tree canopy is really nice. Attached to the local bike store. Food and pastries are usually available.

Espresso Paeonia is by far the most lovely little coffee shop in Paonia. The owner Morgan definitely knows coffee well and his desire to provide Paonia with delicious coffee and a great experience was evident from the minute I walked in. I got the cortado and enjoyed it just outside his shop in a lovely little outdoor seating area. The coffee was absolutely incredible and with friendly competent service and very reasonable pricing I will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place. Hooray for a great coffee shop for Paonia!

Good conversation and great coffee. There happened to be a tasty taco truck just outside as well. Super experience! Worth a stop in Paonia ('e' or no 'e').
