Zack's BBQ

They have incredible smoked meats! I found the chicken got dried out a bit much from the smoking, so needed water to wash down each bite, but I believe that's just the nature of chicken meat. The flavors were exceptional, the brisket was brilliant! Their brisket nachos were fantastic, the cowboy bowl with pinto beans was amazing. The Cole slaw is a vinegar, not creamy, type, which I enjoyed, but if you don't like vinegar, it might not be for you. Sweet potato fries are waffle cut and have good flavor.

Zack’s is the best Texas style on the Western Slope. The brisket is perfectly done and well smoked in an authentic Texas way. The sides are good and the ribs are great. The chicken fried steak will make you feel like you’re in Texas.
I was disappointed in the fried chicken. While the meat is moist and tender, the chicken is divided with a cleaver making every piece an odd shape and certain to have bone splinters. The customers would enjoy it much more if the chicken was jointed and the pieces had their natural shape without all the sharp bone fragments!

Food was good. I ordered the Steak & Eggs. I ordered my steak Medium it was definitely Rare in the middle. I'm ok with it as long as it's not well done. My recommendation would be to "butterfly" the steak. Otherwise no complaints. The server was extremely nice & helpful. Try the pies they're homemade & delicious!

The staff was extremely friendly! Felt like they genuinely enjoyed being there. We ordered the chicken and rice soup for an app and it was delicious very very flavorful. The beef patty which is ground up every morning it was season to perfection really complementing the natural beef flavor, the potato salad tasted fresh & was delicious! The brisket sandwich was cooked exceptionally it instantly made our mouth water upon seeing it. It came with crispy sweet potato fries that went well with the sandwich. It is out of the way of most main towns but definitely worth a look.

The food is definitely worth the drive and what a beautiful drive it is! The ribs were juicy and tender and the potato salad has excellent flavor! I wasn't a huge fan of the beans. They were on the crunchy side and didn't have much flavor. The pies are reminiscent of what my grandmothers made when I was a little girl...Oh my goodness! Over-the-top delicious and kudos to the baker!!

French dip, ribs w Beans & onion rings, and a platter of three meats w Mac and cheese. Service was great super sweet and very fast. We came on Saturday evening and had no problem getting a table for five.

friends took us for breakfast and it is delicious. The portion is generous and we were so full the entire day. I had a sandwich with 2 eggs and 2 sausage patties, and added hash brown on the side. the hash brown is crispy!

Repeat customer for many, many years, since they were partnered with livestock sales barn in the 70s actually. Never had a bad experience, only getting better with new owners.

Great BBQ. my wife had the smoked brisket sandwich and I had the smoked ham sandwich. Side note. I loved the Cole Slaw.

Best ribs in Delta County! Come check out Zack's Authentic wood fired smoker. It's a one of a kind and can't be duplicated!

Growing up in Hotchkiss, this restaurant became a staple. Until lastnight, I have not been there in years and with the owners.

Delicious BBQ and sides. The brisket was smoked well and was tender. The coconut cream pie was amazing! Debbie is a great server and friendly. Coming back when I travel through here again! 🌞

All 5 of us had something different, from ribs & chicken fried steak, to a chef's salad & pie. Everything including the service was excellent. I highly recommend Zac's and will definitely be stopping in the next time I'm in the area.

Zack’s is a great family place that’s open all day. It’s a ritual for the locals in the small town and keeps people fed. I came here with friends for breakfast and it’s just what you expect from a small diner. Very good food, great people, and family vibes.
