Someone asked for good seafood restaurant suggestions, in a foodie group I'm in, & out of the different places people mentioned..the Tipsy Mermaid caught my attention. It was the only place that I wasn't really familiar with & with a name like that.. I had to check it out. I was surprised that they didn't take reservations & even though it was around 8:30 on a Friday evening.. there was no wait. Very casual, cool, atmosphere. March Madness games were playing at the bar & several staff members came to check on us throughout the course of the evening. Being pescatarian often limits our dinner choices, but this place had more options than I knew what to do with. Everything that we ordered was great, but I'm already looking forward to going back again because there were so many other things I still wanna try.. it's actually probably gonna take a few more trips because there were just that many delicious looking choices. I'm glad I stumbled across this place & I will be going back.. SOON. 😋

We had a great experience on a Sunday night for dinner. There was no wait to be seated, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere felt very light and airy. There were many unique menu items and the food was delicious with very generous portion sizes as well. Overall, we plan on coming back in the future again to try out even more menu items.

We went for Winter Devour and it was a great experience! They don't take reservations so when we got there it would've be a 30 minute wait, so we ended up sitting at the bar for dinner. It was a great experience and Connor was amazing! He was very informative and answered all our questions about the menu. The Cuban Cigars, drunken shrimp, surf & turf tacos and the pina colda bread pudding were wonderful. The papaya mojito was very refreshing. We will definitely be back again!

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!! Great, unique menu that you can’t find anywhere else of every tropical dish you can imagine. Bikini Lettuce Wraps were awesome, the mahi rueben sandwich was so fresh and full of flavor and the smoked fish dip was fantastic. Finish off with a key lime pie that was just right balance between sweet, smooth and little tart capped off a great meal. We will be back!

I grew up in FL, and my family was in the seafood industry. I travel back to South FL often and New Orleans. I know seafood and I am so happy to say this place is delicious! I read other reviews with concerns about the food, so I ordered several things to go for this reason. If it's good to go, without alcohol and ambiance of the restaurant, you know it's good fresh in the restaurant. First off, I'm not a rice and beans lover and also stay away from pork as much as possible. I'm picky. That rice and beans was so good and the seafood grits with bacon was THE BEST Seafood & Grits I've ever had. the Island Life Tacos were also so good and came with so many accoutrements. The Conch & Shrimp Fritters are so good and completely delicious! This place understood the assignment. They know what they are doing and if I had to provide any critical feedback at all, it would be to lower the salt content in the Conch & Shrimp Fritters and shrimp in the Island Life Tacos. It may be the beer breading that is coming off a little too salty. Run to this place immediately! The Conch & Shrimp Fritters, Seafood & Grits, and Island Life Tacos are must have items. I cannot wait to go in person and try their drinks. They were friendly when I picked up and the place looks beautiful! It made me miss home for sure. Love the palm trees with Christmas lights.

Just ate here with my husband and 1 year old daughter for Devour Indy. Was told at the door they don’t have high chairs but he then proceeds to go to another restaurant to retrieve one for us. That kind of service is hardly seen today and much appreciated. Also, the foods amazing! Definitely come check it out. Don’t let the ridiculous bad reviews about the grand opening and some photography deter you. All staff were welcoming and kind. We had a great time!

Place is great for food and a cool ambiance.

If you actually use Google reviews to try and get a feel for restaurants, please disregard the one star reviews here from people upset about something unrelated to the food and atmosphere.

Have been here multiple times and have had no issues at all. Highly recommend.

Sydney the bartender was amazing! So fun & made the best dirty martini we’ve ever had! That girl deserves a raise for how above and beyond she goes! Also the key lime pie was fantastic!

Dining out should be an experience that transports you on vacation from your daily life. Hats off to the Tipsy Mermaid for diving in with passion to create an independent restaurant with character and a tasty original menu. Support your local brave independent restaurants. That's what creates a community. I had the conch shrimp fritters, the papa's steak sandwich, and the delicious bread pudding for dessert. If you like spicy, ask for the Castro's breath hot sauce. There are lots of original cocktail options for everyone.

Edit: for those scared with the 1 star review, there was some sort of YouTuber trying to harass clients during the opening and the owner called the police, resulting in those two or three individuals to come and give one star from many accounts. Leave your own rating and it should nornalize.

My review:
Very creative kitchen. Although every dish has the potential to be in too many flavors and end up overwhelming, they manage to make it in a way you'll taste all of them just enough. This results in a very tasty food that you'll savor from the beginning till the end.
The cocktails are superb. They've managed to make the caipirinha as I'd have told them to, but without my help. I strongly recommend it. The wine list is also great and I'd recommend the Rosé if you're going with shrimps.

We've had
Papa cuban cigars: 8/10. It's pretty filling. Very good.

Island life tacos: 9/10. The rice and beans are very well done and super tasty. The taco itself was delicious. The shrimp has some ceviche taste to it.

Moveable feast bowl: 8/10. Similar to the island life tacos, rice and beans are super tasty. The dish parts come separate, and my favorite was the fried breaded jalapenos. The mango and the pineapple mixes add the tropical flavor and make it fresh. Guacamole is kinda lost there, but I love it anyways. The pork was also very tasty. Importantly, it was not super wet.

Desserts are a bit too rich for dishes that should be filling. So I'd recommend them to add smaller options too, churros, for instance.

We live in the Keys (Key Largo). There is an overwhelming keys vibe here! This is our go to when we are visiting our family in Zionsville. We love that they added a kid friendly brunch on Saturday & Sundays. The atmosphere, staff & food are amazing!! Definitely 5 stars!

Went to Tipsy on Tuesday night, the first night of the Devour Menu. My wife had the 2 course option with appetizer and entree and I did the 2 course option with entree and dessert, so we shared the appetizer and dessert and still took food home. Drinks are fun, atmosphere is enjoyable because its always warm in Key West. Had a great time. Waiter explained all of the food options well, as it is a complex menu. Definitely loved the key lime pie dessert.

The atmosphere is cozy, clean and fun. The decor and attention to detail makes the experience enjoyable. The service and food are excellent. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions you get. Can’t wait to return!

We have been twice and gotten different dishes. They are always great! You get a lot of food and they don’t skimp on the seafood or meat in the dishes. Highly suggest seafood and Gruyère grits and the Cuban cigars as an app. Cute place and very friendly staff.

We ordered Delivery. I was starving, & I wanted GOOD, but quickly delivered food. I've been travelling and had no food at home.
I hopped on Doordash, and was greeted with a *new* restaurant on the app, Tipsy Mermaid. I saw it was about 10 minutes from me, and quickly ordered.
WOW.
The reviews were good, but the food was even better.
We started with the Conch & Shrimp Fritters. I LOVE Conch, and if you don't know how to cook it, it can flat out suck, lol.
These were SO GOOD, and they were huge. I literally only ate 1, and I'm saving the rest to throw in the air fryer.
My husband ordered the Island Life Tacos. He LOVED the, but they came with SO many toppings and not enough tortillas. He only got 2 tortillas, and they were the street taco size. Luckily, we had toritilla chips at home, so he made the rest into nachos.
I LOVE a good fish/seafood BLT, and the Dockside BLT did NOT disappoint. The fries were thin and crispy - like steak fries but smashed. I was afraid they would be more like a potato chip, but they were still french fry enough for me!

We can not wait to visit in person and check out the cocktails and service! Thank you for correct order & speedy delivery!

A wonderful addition to the Village. The owner absolutely knows what she is doing with beautiful interiors and inventive and delicious food. We enjoyed a dinner with a large group soon after they opened and drinks and appetizers at the bar for two. I'm so looking foward to trying brunch there soon.

My husband and I split four appetizers as our meals and loved all of them. The restaurant definitely reminded us of being in Key West.

The only negative reviews on here are from the fan base of a YouTuber. Said YouTuber had an interaction with patrons which the manager reasonably asked him to not do. He’s a troll that goes around obnoxiously filming strangers and then instigating a verbal (sometimes physical)fight with them so he can self-righteously go on about how filming people is legal(which it is in public), but fails to acknowledge that socially it’s creepy and insane to just stand in front of people pointing cameras in their face while being hostile/allusive when questioned why he’s doing it. He’s a troll. Coincidentally looks like a troll as well.

Our server Manny was fantastic! Very attentive and knowledgeable server.
The food was fantastic and fresh! Loved the vibe of the restaurant. The manager came over and checked on us to make sure everything was to our liking. Highly recommend this new local restaurant!

We go to Key West and the Keys at least twice a year. The food and drinks are totally on-par with the Key West theme! Atmosphere was excellent and we loved hearing Jesse Rice, our favorite TropRock artist playing. Highly recommend the Cuban and a mojito!
