Thrifty Car Rental - Washington Dc - Dulles International Airport

We have been to this car rental twice. Both times, Alvin helped us, and it was an unexpectedly good experience. During our second rental, it was during the holiday season and the rental line was long. Alvin moved the line along quickly, and when he got to us, provided cheerful, efficient, and competent service. When we returned the car and had a slight mix up, he helpfully offered to sort it out, and proceeded to do so expeditiously. I highly recommend Thrifty, at least for as long as Alvin is working there.

I couldn't be any happier with my experience. I had booked a car for one way travel. There were a few people in front of me, but the line went by really quick. The car I had booked was available, but I was travelling with a dog and her large airline crate and upon attempting to put it in the car, I realized that it wouldn't fit. The operations manager, Ahmad Noori, saw me struggling and helped me put the seats down to see if it would fit. When that didn't work, he on his own went to the lot and pulled up another larger car that he knew would be able to fit the crate, and allowed me to take that car without any upcharge. The way he helped out when I was feeling stressed and the level of customer service is something that I will remember.

Renting a car is always anxiety inducing so people give terrible reviews. This was perfectly good service, I returned the car 2 hours late and they waived any fees, and they gave me a primer on how to use my electric car. Easy pick up and drop off

When we dropped off our rental at Thrifty Dulles, the staff drove us and our young children to the terminal in our rental vehicle rather than have us load into the shuttle bus in freezing weather. Very courteous and helpful especially when we have luggage and car seats!

rented an ev a week before Xmas and was an extremely smooth experience. Got us in a car (we got to choose from 5 available) in 15 minutes from entering. EV charging fee was reasonable.

DEBRA was the associate who helped me, and she went above and beyond to make sure that I was completely satisfied. I would always go back to thrifty for future rentals. If you ever go to this place and get a chance to see Debra, I bet she'll help you out if you have any concerns.

I had a great experience here despite the negative reviews! We got an awesome deal through Priceline for a luxury rental, bought insurance through them and we weren't haggled at all by the workers. We picked up the car at 12 pm and saw the line fluctuate throughout the time we were there. We got there at a good time and were able to pick out the car we wanted! When returning the car the lady who attended us was SO NICE she was a beam of sunshine! Really pleased with this location and I will be renting from here again!

I booked an Economy/Compact car for the trip home for Thanksgiving and arrived a little earlier than expected. The class I’d reserved was all unavailable but was offered a free upgrade by the friendly guy at the counter. We got a great car, paid a good price which included all of the insurance and loss/damage costs in my original quote, and had no issues at all. When we returned our car, the staff member who checked us back in was also really nice and confirmed my final price & sent a receipt before we even got the bus to the terminal. Solid experience, thanks for making our trip easier!

I arrived to drop off my rental very early yesterday morning. I had an experience like I have never had before at Thrifty Dulles Airport. I had a lot of baggage snd it took a while to get it onto the bus. Once one myself and one other passenger were transported to the terminal. Upon arrival the driver got out of the bus and ran across the street to get me trolley. He then proceeded to load my baggage onto the trolley and wheel it into the building. I wish I had gotten his name as he was incredibly kind and really did restore my faith in humanity which had been waning of late. Thank you

Really nice lady who's name I am forgetting but starts with and M was very helpful. Super quick, wasn't overly salesy (rare in the car rental world) and was extremely nice. I was extremely hesitant due to their poor reviews, but ultimately my experience did not reflect the reviews they had. I think we all should realize that the people most motivated to write reviews are those that have really bad experiences which skews the businesses reputation away from the actual mean. I am hoping my 2 cents may compel others to try this location out as I was very thrilled by how different my experiences were from others who have left reviews. Plus they were the cheapest, so there's that!

Very nice employees. Professional, courteous, and friendly. Daniel helped me out a lot after returning the Tesla. He made sure everything was good to go and expedited the checkout process.

Recently rented a car for a long road trip using my United Mileage Points. We put over 3,000 miles on the car in an 11 day period and didn't have any issues. On pickup customer service was polite and quickly got me into the vehicle of my choosing. Rented a Nissan Rogue - inside was clean and didn't have any maintenance or mechanical related issues. Returning the car was a breeze, got out of the car did a walk around and was on my way in under 5 mins.

I saw the bad reviews and am quite confused. Having family in the area, I have rented several cars from them over the years and have never had a serious issue. Perhaps it helps that I am a Blue Chip member (join - it's free) and you can usually get your car and be gone quickly. This past week, I had a reservation for a full-size car. The agent suggested that I might prefer a small SUV with 4 wheel drive due to the huge amount of snow that the area had received. I took the SUV that he suggested at no extra charge. Will I rent from them again - you bet!

This car rental place is wonderful. Their customer service rivals some of the other "big rental" places. This is the Dollar Rental as well as Thrifty rentals office. They make the rental process very easy. And they don't try to pressure you to buy some of the extra amenities that you might not need. The shuttle to the airport is comfortable and timely. My consierge Mr. Ali was wonderful, he also gave me some helpful tips about driving in the area. The car I had was a Nissan Sentra. The car was clean and we'll maintained. Above all you get a great rate on your rental. Highly recommend this place.

I had a great experience renting from Thrifty. I picked up my vehicle at 5 in the morning and was greeted by Tahsina with a smile. She was very professional and pleasant to deal with. I rent from Thrifty often, usually at the Dulles location, however I get the same gentleman who’s rude with short patients. I didn’t experience this with Tahsina.

Had no wait to pick up the car and you get to pick any car in the aisle. There was no one waiting to return the car, so I had to go inside to process the paperwork. It only took a couple extra minutes and it's just a minor inconvenience to account for. Still a good place to rent a car and get the Unlimited EZ Pass if needed!
