The Galley: A St. Pete Tavern

This place is awesome! Shayna, Juan and Brent were amazing servers/bartenders. The food was delicious - considering all the options in the St. Pete area I was extremely happy to have found this place. This restaurant is a hidden gem! Would 10/0 recommend. I’m from the Tampa area and came down for St. Pete for the day and was more than happy to finally find a place that still cares about delivering amazing service and good quality food. Excited to come back!

This eatery came recommended by a local bartender that we met and we were so glad that we took her advice.
The atmosphere was fun. The service was fast, fun, and professional. The food was hot, tasty, and creative. I had the Grouper sandwich with lemon aioli and fried capers...yes, fried capers.
I recommend The Galley as long as you visit them with the laid-back attitude that you should carry with you when visiting St. Pete!

Saturday Brunch was excellent!! I would definitely recommend this place for weekend brunch with friends. They recommended the breakfast tacos and they were phenomenal!

Hidden gem! #1 late night food spot top quality regular and late night menu and open til 3am. Just moved here they serve gulf grouper everywhere this is #1

Really good drinks and food. We ordered off the specials menu for our meals. The service was pretty slow but it was St. Patrick’s day weekend. We were very happy to see corn dog bites on the menu!

Wow, what a comfortable place. The servers and bar tenders are absolutely on it. Great vibe. Great food at a good price. Juan was our server, and he was so friendly it changed the mood of the whole table.

One of our favorite Taverns in downtown St Pete. Food is delicious. No matter how busy they are, they always take good care of you. Also games multiple tvs. Outside sidewalk seating too. Fun people watching. Out of the busy waterfront, but a great place.

Sooooo this is the first place i stopped to eat, here visiting in St. Pete and it did not disappoint. Literally best calamari I’ve ever had and the bartender recommended the paprika aioli which was ALMOST TOO GOOD. after a long flight and 12 hours of annoyance this is where i want to be. The drinks were amazing as well. And good service because they are clearly badass and been doing this for a while.

Loved it, visited 4th March (Monday night), had surf and turf and steak cooked to perfection, everything well seasoned and beer ice cold!

Perfect choice after doing some research for a downtown sports bar with top notch food, drinks, and service. Best Cuban made the correct way! Comfortable and friendly and a fun place for the Sunday football games. Devon and Chloe are super at their jobs with cheery attitudes it was a fun game day.

The Galley is a great spot for serving your craves whether its beers, shots, mixed drinks, or cocktails. The food is delicious and the staff is fantastic. I decided that I would put this spot on my must visit on my trips down to St. Pete.

Stopped in for a drink. Staff was friendly, drinks were reasonable.

I had the Special; Crab Salad Sandwich. Yes, Real Snow Crab!!! I paired it with a side of black beans and rice. It was delicious. As always, the food and service were impeccable.

Grilled Steak? Wow!!! We were so impressed with their grilled steak salad and Grilled Chicken caesar salad. Delicious. Bar food and drinks seemed amazing too. Juan was so good to us. He had so much good info on local shopping and fun stuff. We will be back again.

We had a marvelous time. Drinks were good-full pour. Food was fantastic. Great variety for those who want to be a little more healthy and regular fare. Staff was very attentive and patient with all our questions/requests. Atmosphere was friendly and easy going. Will definitely be back when I am in town.

Brent is absolutely the best bartender in st Pete. The 20 of us will be back again.

We moved here two years ago and to be honest the food scene is horrible. We try restaurants ALL the time and it’s the same touristy, gimmicky, overpriced, under flavored junk everywhere you go. I really don’t know how these restaurants have so many good reviews. Whether people don’t know good food, they are drunk, or it’s review bots. I’m hoping this place changed our luck, what a gem! This place was incredible! Prices are more than fair, food was fresh, service was amazing, menu was smaller but had options for everyone. Everything had FLAVOR! I really don’t have one negative thing to say. Please support this place! We will be back!

We came here by chance - good Yelp reviews and convenient location. We ordered staples - steak fries, a Cuban, black beans and rice, and a grilled cheese.

This is the first gastropub that lived up to it's premise. Because the fries weren't just something reheated, they were the best steak fries I've had in my life. The grilled cheese was crunchy and delicious. The Cuban was fantastic. The black beans were... Well they were just black beans but the hot sauce helped. I don't understand how this was as good as it was.

Prices were perfect, service was great if you flagged them down but they left you alone too long otherwise. Still, not worth docking a star over. Try it out if you're in the area!

Low key fire…only words to describe this hidden DTSP gem. Cocktails are amazing (where else can you get a legit gin fizz with actual egg white) bourbon selection is top notch and the food is not to be missed. Kitchen is open LATE, and everything is fresh and delicious. Bita the bartender was slammed and still took the time to make sure we were taken care of. Can’t recommend enough!
