Hiked up from Indian Beach parking area toward Ecola Point. The trail is mostly well maintained but is worn with winter rains and storm debri but still passable. The view of the ocean and the magnificent trees are both incredible and breathtaking.

Easy access for views and the sounds of the rocks tumbling into the sea is incredible! Be prepared for walking on stones The beach is not sand it is made up of rock so tough footing.

Moderate difficulty hike with spectacular views! Just the perfect combination of mountains, beach and river streams. You can start the hike from Ecola point (this location) and end at Indian beach or vice versa, based on wherever you get parking.

Great trail. Parking was a bit of a chore due to how popular this location is. The sign at the entry said "full", but we got lucky once we made it to the parking lot a spot freed up. Police was ticketing cars who did not pay for a pass. Its only 4or5 dollars to park so just get a pass.

I got here early on a Sunday morning and it was basically empty. It was a beautiful sunny day today, the waves are so calming and peaceful. Unfortunately, the trail to the end is permanently closed, due to water erosion. I've included a shot of some of the water erosion and subsequent land slides.

We had our baby with us, so we didn't actually hike down to the beaches, but the viewpoint was absolutely breathtaking! It gets pretty windy out there, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket.

The hike was more challenging than expected with some elevation and mud but the beach at the end was worth it. Lots of giant trees and view points along the way.

The trail was closed when we went there but the beach was open. Entering the place took longer than anticipated and finding parking was difficult. That’s something to keep in mind if you are traveling during weekend. Otherwise, a perfect place for picnic, hiking and a peaceful day at the beach.

We hiked about 1/3 of the trail on a sunny June day. It is going up and down a bit. For doing the full trail it is better to wear hiking shoes. Our sneakers we not suitable for it.

Love this trail. Hiked it nearly a decade ago, then recently again. Most of the trail was walkable, but was officially closed. We went in just a little ways before turning back due to unstable ground. The views are amazing and I sincerely hope they can shore things up and get the trail walkable soon.
