Macungie Train Watching Platform

I love visiting with my son to catch a train. The friendly people that sit there often always let us know if a train has passed or if one is coming. I also really enjoy walking around the flower garden area. The flowers the volunteers plant in the spring/summer are beautiful!

Great place to watch freight trains as Norfolk Southern operates 20+ trains daily that pass through Macungie. Next to the train watching pavillion is a wonderful garden of various plants and flowers that is meticulously maintained. What a great location especially if you enjoy flower gardens and just happen to be a railfan!

It is an immaculately maintained park & watching platform made possible by the highly dedicated Macungie Garden Club, Boy Scouts of America, and others with a common interest of planning and putting forth the effort in order to make Macungie a better place to live and explore. Watching the trains go-by will instill a sense of nostalgia, respect, & interest for the industry. I won't forget to mention about the rejuvinating & relaxing breeze as the train passes by.

Great spot to watch trains, a good way to enjoy a weekend, there are chairs for you to sit and other railfans.

Excellent! Highly recommend to all train enthusiests and non as well! Beautifil tended adjoining garden. Relaxing even when the trains roll by!

Hi I don't know about you, but my kids love trains. If you're in the area and would like to show your kids trains, this is a good place to see them. The trains go by about every 15 minutes during the day. Love ya

I'm a railfanner so it's always fun to sit here and watch trains!

Great Place To Watch Fast Moving Freight Trains

Great place for the freight train enthusiast to watch trains. There is a roof in case it rains as well as benches to sit on.

A great place to hang out and relax and watch the trains.

More towns along the tracks need a place like this. Very well maintained gardens and train watching pavilion that gives an awesome vantage point to passing trains.

IM SO GLAD THERE WERE SO MANY FOAMERS THERE TO HELP ME FOAM, WE FILLED UP AN PEPSI 2 LITER BOTTLE FULL OF FOAM. WE SAW SO MANY HERITAGE INCLUDING NS 6734 SD70ACU. I ALSO BROUGHT MY 1 MONTH OLD AND SHE WAS FOAMING TOO! I WILL DEFINEDFHTEFDLY BRING MY 5 HUSBANDS ALONG NEXT TIME FOR THE FOMA FEST ON 8/5/2021 AT 1000AM

Great place to railfan - either in the parking area, or under the pavilion if it's raining or too hot.

Old train station and beautiful garden. The meeting place for many train watchers and people just socializing.

Very nice little viewing area for trains. Lots of activity through here.

I saw all 20 heritage units here inllcuding:
NS 4000, 4001, 4002, 4003, 4004, 4005, 1800, 1801, 8520, 1111, 611, 765, 6211, 6212, 6213, 9254, 9254, 4660, and 4661
All of these units are a part of NS's heritage fleet. These units are specially painted from predecessor railroads.

Love this place. Very clean. Make sure you stand back cause the trains go by fast.
