Arrived just after 1PM and were promptly seated. Ordered Cream of Crab soup (excellent, not that thick flour stuff) and fried COD sandwich, lightly coated and cooked perfectly, not greasy. Wife ordered broiled Crab Cake sandwich and she said excellent. Service by Valerie was spot on and checked on us repeatedly as we dined. Went to grab wife's Hush Puppies and she had eaten all of them. Captain Zack's exceeded our expectations. Good job to the cook on this Monday.

We went there in the 2nd week of Nov in 2023. Considering it is off-season, they were quite a few people dining although they were not crowded. We ordered a blackened fish platter, the shrimp basket, a pizza, and some hushpuppies for the four of us. A lot of food came, relatively quickly after we ordered, and the food was so tasty. The service was very good and the staff were very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience. Will gladly go back there when we visit the area again.

We stopped in while on a day trip to Chincoteague Island. We really enjoyed our time there. The dining area is a large outdoor screened in bar with lots of ceiling fans. The bartender/server Lorie was excellent! She made recommendations which were good, and was very accommodating when we asked to move seats. We ordered a seafood platter, calamari, and hush puppies. It was all perfectly done except for the shrimp which was a little overcooked. Everything else more than made up for it though. We will certainly return when in the area.

Oh. My. God! Was only on the island for two days (and not even two full days) and we were here both days for lunch! Every place we visited, they all recommended Captain Zack's (and I thought it was because not everything was back open for the season) and I understand why!

We started with the seafood boats. They were huge! I ordered the special of the day which was a grilled cheese sandwich with crab and bacon, house made chips, hush puppies and I picked the cream of crab soup. That soup will change your life! My wife got the clam strip basket with fries. The portions were huge for the price (which was very reasonable)! We took a lot of it to go (and had dinner that night). We decided to come back the next day for lunch again. We told ourselves we would try different stuff... But we didn't. Same exact order! This time we got cheesecake brownies and deviled eggs (with old bay) to go.

Again, I can see why everyone was recommending this place. I'm already looking forward to going back to the island just to go back here!

Went here on Labor Day weekend and were seated promptly. They kept an updated list to seat people in order of arrival and did not waste any time cleaning off tables. Food was reasonably priced and very tasty. Both our server and the hostess were exceedingly efficient and friendly. Crab legs were incredible.

Fresh seafood, cold beer, great service and a cool bar. Thus is our favorite place on the island. The staff is actually happy to see you!

Stopped here over the weekend for a bite. Facility was understaffed, but they did great on accommodating their guests in a timely manner. Candid on wait times and encouraged going off to explore while we waited. Hostess was incredibly sweet and our waitress was amazing.

We got crab bites (phenomenal!!) and Calamari for appetizers. Entrees included snow crab legs, while good, felt a little lacking on value to amount ratio. It scratched the itch, though. My friend ordered Rockfish that was over sadly a bit cooked, but seasoned well to make up for it. Sides, fries and coleslaw, were generous and good.

Happily go back to try something new! Great atmosphere, the bar is a boat, can’t get any cooler. 😎

Words cannot express food at Captain Zack’s 🥹 It was one of the best meals I had in a long time. The service was excellent too. Everyone was so polite and friendly. Be prepared that this place gets busy in the evenings so you might have to wait 45-60 minutes for a table. It’s definitely worth it! We went for a walk and then they called us and I’m so glad we didn’t go anywhere else!

The screened in porch dining area is a great vibe. Service was top notch. Food was pretty good, but not amazing. Typical Chincoteague oysters - very briney, not too photogenic, but clean and delicious flavor. The smashburger was pretty weak, not really smashed at all, no crisp or char. Fried cod was excellent. Everything came with hush puppies which were great.

Food was amazing, service was absolutely amazing for how understaffed they were and the atmosphere was great as well. The drinks at the bar are well worth the money and so is the food. I recommend just a good old fashioned burger with some cocktails; honestly can't beat it.

We found this place on our last visit 5 years ago and have told so many people about it in the meantime. On our second visit today we are every but as pleased as we were originally.

If you like oysters, check out the oyster fritter...no lie it is as large as the box and the bun is comically small in comparison. The claim strips are very good as well. But the star of the show was the crab cake that I tried today. Hands down the best crab cake I have ever had. Well seasoned, blue crab, and they claim to not use any fillers and I believe them...it was all crab all the way through.

Drive up, order and plan on waiting for your food to be cooked. Really no place to eat on premises so plan to take it back to wherever you are staying. But whatever you do definitely stop here!!!

Just got done having lunch here with the entire family. Loved the people there, all were very nice and helpful. The atmosphere is nice as it has mess windows so it feels like your under a giant gazebo. The tables are a very cool touch. The food was great, the cream of crab soup, the soft shell crab sandwich, and the shrimp platter was all very good. We loved the hush puppies. The only thing that felt like it was missing something was the bay boats which were potatoes skins with crab and cheese. It was good but very potatoes forward.

My sister and I arrived at 12:20 for lunch. The wait was not excessive as some reviews have mentioned and even if it was the food was totally worth it. The woman that took our order was super sweet, smiling and personable. We shared the seafood boat appetizer which we found innovative and delicious. We each ordered a crab cake sandwich and we both agree that these are the best crab cakes we have ever had. It will be hard to order crab cakes anywhere else as these are incredible! Thanks for a great meal!

First time at Capt.Zacks for dinner. So good we went back for lunch. Great menu variety and unique daily specials. Oysters in November..GO for it. Salads and portions plentiful. Went with grilled shrimp tacos and steamed oysters. Enclosed covered seating..so even in the rainy cold it's cozy but open. Clam chowder had hint of spice but not too hot. Service was friendly and very busy on weekend...so plan ahead.

Amazing atmosphere, great food! Plenty of drinks and friendly service. Exactly what Chincoteague is all about!!!!💖
Yes service is slow but remember .... You came to Chincoteague to relax and lay back, if you want to rush , fast , clear the table for the next customer ....you should have gone to Ocean City.

One of our favorite places on the island, we go at least once a month and never get tired. Drinks and food are both great, the crab legs and hushpuppies are always perfect. Never had a bad meal, and Corey is our favorite bartender!!

Been coming to Chincoteague for decades for work but just went to Captain Zack's for the first time. The food was better, the portions larger, the atmosphere just as good or better, and the cost was less than the other places I've been going to. This will be one of my new routine restaurants when traveling here.

Update: So good came back the next day for something else on the menu.

At first I was skeptical, because the lady at the front wasn’t overly friendly, but our server (Cory) was awesome and the food was great…prices made it even better! He let us know it was going to be a delay for our food…which there was, but we were enjoying the atmosphere. And hey, he warned us…we could’ve left. I appreciate they even give you a heads up. Cory the waiter was amazing!!! So friendly!
