I came in for manicure services and although service was great with Tiffany, there was no air conditioning in the facility which made it a very unpleasant experience. Tiffany did her best to try and make me comfortable offering a cold beverage but it did nothing for the lack of air flow in her suite. The type of business requires proper air flow due to the fumes of ten products used. As a pregnant technician her working conditions are unacceptable. Customers also have unknown conditions that the lack of air conditioning and air flow can exacerbate. It unacceptable for a customer service business to operate in such conditions.

I went for a service to get my nails done by my favorite nail tech that I’ve been with for over a decade. I’d travel anywhere for her outstanding services. By first appearances the building is a little difficult to locate and the parking is abysmal. I go in for my regular 2hr appointment with delight to see her space beautifully welcoming, with refreshments, a warm smile. Within 20min of the appointment I started to feel uncomfortably warm, when she noticed my discomfort she told me the AC unit must be down again. She messaged the landlord about the problem and proceeded with the service. After the first hour we’re both sitting there sweating. We took a moment to cool off outside (IN FLORIDA). I asked if the landlord had messaged her and with no avail we heard nothing. This had been an ongoing problem for her and the other tenants in the building for weeks. My nail technician is in her 3rd trimester of pregnancy which is already at high risk and is suffering in unbearable heat indoors. I don’t know much about salons but I’ve never been to a place that doesn’t have working air conditioning. As an industry that needs to have a temperature controlled environment this is extremely unprofessional that the landlord hasn’t made adjustments for their tenants. Not only are you making the clients uncomfortable but the damage to expensive products the tenants need in a temperature controlled environment. It was the first time we had to have an incomplete service due to the heat conditions ruining my nail design. I am completely sadden for my friend being out in these awful conditions with a landlord that seems to have no empathy for his tenants let alone someone who is pregnant and just trying to make a living. The building is always empty with very few tenants and you’d think with how much they charge this incident would be taken care of to keep your building afloat. This is not how you do business and the people who suffer are the tenants.

I have an amazing nail tech to whom I’ve been extremely loyal to for a long period of time. Out of all the places I’ve followed her this was by far the worst location. The landlord was careless about the property and didn’t seem to really care when stuff is broken. And we are talking AC broken in the middle of the day in Florida in a nail salon. It was a horrible experience for me to be there for an hour. I felt so bad for my girl who had to be there all day working in those conditions. If you’re looking for a place to run your business keep looking!!

A Nightmare at Northwood Office and Salon Suites - Incompetence Beyond Belief

I cannot express the sheer frustration and disappointment my wife and I experienced at Northwood Office and Salon Suites, particularly the time between 10/27/23 and 12/6/23. What should have been an exciting time, as we eagerly awaited the arrival of our first child, turned into an agonizing ordeal, thanks to the incompetence of the building management, particularly their negligent handling of a faulty A/C unit.

From the moment we reported the issue, it was evident that the building manager was completely out of their depth. My pregnant wife endured sweltering heat and discomfort for weeks, and the promises of a swift resolution were nothing but empty words. It's mind-boggling how a supposedly professional establishment can fail so miserably in basic facilities maintenance.

The lack of urgency and communication was appalling. We felt like mere afterthoughts, left to suffer in the unbearable heat while the building manager fumbled through a series of ineffective attempts to fix the A/C unit. Multiple calls and emails were met with excuses, delays, and a blatant disregard for our well-being.

As a husband, watching my pregnant wife endure such unnecessary suffering due to the sheer negligence of Northwood Office and Salon Suites was infuriating. The toll it took on her health and our overall experience during this special time is something that no expectant couple should have to endure. And going beyond that, the loss of capital from having to cancel appointments has ruined our ability to put money aside for maternity leave. We are small business owners; we only have ourselves to depend on.

I implore anyone considering leasing space or services from Northwood Office and Salon Suites to think twice. The complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic care for their tenants is nothing short of a disgrace. It's a shame that an establishment entrusted with providing a comfortable and safe environment failed so spectacularly, turning what should have been a joyous occasion into a nightmare we will not soon forget.

Northwood Office and Salon Suites, you have not only failed in your basic responsibilities but have also marred what should have been a memorable time in our lives. It is my hope that others heed this warning and steer clear of such a woefully mismanaged and neglectful establishment.

I have been coming here for a year and never had I experienced such terrible AC flow. If it wasn’t for the beauty services I was getting monthly that I LOVE. I would have gone anywhere else. It was so hot so muggy and almost unbearable to sit in. This is FLORIDA it’s too hot to have people working in harsh conditions when they are trying their absolute best to maintain a company of their own. The owner needs to be held responsible in taking care of the “salon suites”. Salon Suites are spaces that are meant for peace and relaxation and self care. Having a broken AC and other issues I’ve noticed like lights flickering and extremely dark parking lot (unsafe) does not meet the requirements of a good place for a salon.

I love my service provider, but whoever owns/runs this place should be ashamed. They left that building in the hottest months of the year in South Florida with broken air conditioning for nearly two months. It was 95 degrees in there for multiple of my appointments, where I was literally sweating. I don't know how the people who work there could endure sitting in that place all day. On top of that, my service provider was EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT dealing with complications during all of this, which is so unsafe for her to have been working in those conditions. Absolutely horrendous and unacceptable way to treat your tenants and their clients.

I rented this place from December 23, 2021. As a Nail Technician, I don't recommend renting here. The rent is excessively high for what you get, and the landlord is unpleasant. I've experienced unruly tenants, drug activities, and even the tenants living in the space. The bathrooms are consistently filthy, and the AC unit is unreliable.

On October 27, 2023, being 6 months pregnant, I informed the landlord about the AC not working correctly. The building temperature was 78 degrees. He promised a quick fix and suggested I buy a window AC for reimbursement. I explained my high-risk pregnancy, my husband's recent work injury, and the impossibility of installing a window unit due to a caulked window. No resolution was offered, and a subpar unit that was brought in for another tenant sat in the lobby for weeks, affecting everyone.

I called and texted the landlord multiple times, stressing the dangers of working in these temperatures and poor air quality for my unborn child. My nail business is my sole income, covering bills, rent, and maternity leave savings. The landlord showed no concern, putting the responsibility on me and my clients, stating, "If your clients complain about the conditions, they aren't clients for you." Despite begging for a temporary stop to auto payments, he refused but promised a fair reimbursement.

Fast forward six weeks to December 6, 2023, the AC was finally fixed, but it was too late. I had lost appointments, could only take certain clients, and suffered financial losses. On December 6th, I informed the landlord that I couldn't afford the rent during my maternity leave, intending to move out on January 1, 2024. He attempted to dissuade me, instilling insecurities with baseless claims about the expense of moving and working with friends. He even suggested bringing my newborn child to work, which I found disgusting.

Despite setting my move-out date for January 1, 2024, with no pushback, on December 30, 2024, I sent him a video of the room's condition and informed him where to find the key. I received no response. A couple of days later, I inquired about the security deposit and reimbursement for rent from November 27 to December 6. The landlord claimed to have sent the entire security deposit with no questions, comments, or concerns, promising to discuss reimbursement for the weeks without AC later.

Following this, he began stonewalling my attempts at communication. After continuous stonewalling and my efforts to get rental reimbursement, he finally replied, stating that I didn't leave the suite in the correct condition and there were nail holes in the walls. When I asked why he didn't inspect the space before returning the full security deposit, he gave no response.

It became clear that he makes rules up as he goes along. I never asked for a quick return on my security deposit, just for him to do his job. In terms of reimbursement, thinking "fair is fair," I offered him $500 for the repairs of the holes in the walls and I take $1,000 for the 6 weeks of no AC. He didn't like that and came back with an offer of $400, take it or leave it, expiring on January 13, 2024, at 3 pm.

On January 13, I decided to wash my hands of this excuse of a human and take the $400. To my disbelief, he sent me a contract of "resolution," including a nondisclosure clause. He valued my integrity, story, and the truth at $400. I rejected it, and he can keep that money. I hope it keeps him warm at night.

I urge you to learn from my experience – this man is as crooked as a dog's hind leg. Don't rent here. I have proof of everything I'm saying – pictures and texts, all backed up.

I came in to get my beauty services, my technician was amazing but unfortunately the AC was out in the building a majority of the time I came in. No AC in south Florida where hot tools are being used makes for a miserable experience.
