The Village Restaurant

Phenomenal food! I got the broiled seafood platter and it was truly amazing. Everything was fresh and extremely flavorful! My group also had multiple different appetizers, and one of those was the crab dip which was incredible.

My only complaint is that they changed a 20% service fee because we had a group of 8.

Delicious seafood simply prepared to best accentuate the fresh local seafood and other items on the menu. The food was the highlight of the experience, but closely followed by the environment of the restaurant from the relaxed causal atmosphere and coastal decor to the stunning views of the water only feet off the back deck, and the amazing service by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I will most certainly be back!

My husband and I were in for dinner on July 25th and had an amazing time and the service was A1! We had made a 6:30 reservation for outside, however, a storm was coming in and the woman running the show absolutely rocked it!! She managed to accommodate everyone for outside to be able to eat comfortably inside without anyone ever even asking or complaining about the impending storm. Our service was spectacular as well considering the place was packed!!!! The food was outstanding. His flounder was bigger than the plate and the best filet of flounder I’ve had in years, buttery texture with out of this world flavor. I had the seafood delight and all the seafood was absolutely delicious!! We will definitely be returning. Thank you Village Staff for an amazing dinner and service!!

We're so glad we found this restaurant when we were visiting the island. Our server was so nice and the food (crab cakes, fish, and pasta) was delicious. We went for an early dinner so it wasn't crowded and we had a table with a beautiful view. I highly recommend!

Everything was great. Our server was very attentive and the host made sure we had a nice table with a view (despite us arriving at 8pm on a Friday night without a reservation). We ate here the first night of our vacation and i know I will now compare every other meal to this delicious first meal.

Recommendation from a local woman. Turned out to be fabulous. Sat at the bar but the service and food was great. Definitely make a reservation and have the crab tostada's.

A great place for seafood. A well rounded menu hits many of the local delicacies. The Crab Imperial and oysters are great choices. The staff was very professional and well acquainted with the menu and quick to give recommendations. The fresh bread is a great start and the bartender is very skilled in beach drinks. Expect a little wait. But we’ll worth it.

Awesome food, excellent service. From the time we walked in to the time we left we felt welcome and had a great meal! Highly reccomend if you’re in the area. Ask for Roni and see Lisa mixing drinks at the bar. July 4th drink was fire!!

Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. I can not say enough about how well everything turned out. It is difficult to find a place that can cook several seafood items and have them all turn out perfect but this place nailed it from the calamari to the seafood special.
The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The restaurant was very relaxing and comfortable.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and I can't wait to return myself.

The food here was incredible. Absolutely love the atmosphere and our waitress Madison was the best. It was a busy Saturday night but she made sure she was always checking on us. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious.

Had an excellent dinner here, on our initial visit. The staff is all friendly and provide great service. Food was excellent. Started with a tasty Coconut Shrimp appetizer. The Crab Cakes were delicious -- lots of crab with very little filler. The Crab Imperial was also great. Everything was fresh and well prepared. There’s outdoor dining available, on the rear deck overlooking a creek and field. I suggest calling ahead to make reservations if you can.

We started dinner with the best calamari ever and I have eaten a lot of it, served with a very different mayo/horsy sauce.
Crab Imperial and really good green beans. Hubby had the best Seafood Delight which was crab, shrimp and scallops broiled and topped with cheese and he also enjoyed the cole slaw. Beautiful view off the deck. Very busy but wonderful service from our waitress. She even brought my husband's credit card to us while we were walking to the car (he had left it on the table).

Absolutely fantastic from our server to our food! We took my mother out for her birthday and she'd never been there before. She talked about how that was the best restaurant meal that she has had in years! I'm hoping to get the boss to have our company Christmas party there.

If you are looking for fine dining in the Chincoteague Island area, this restaurant definitely fits the bill. It is a rare gem amongst the many prevalent outdoor food truck dining eateries on the island. (Something I still don’t really get given the high mosquito population of the area)

Despite calling mid day on a Thursday before a holiday weekend, the staff was able to find a 7pm reservation slot for our party of six. We arrived a few minutes before and were promptly seated at our creek side window table by the very courteous staff. The decor was very on point; lightly beach themed but not over the top. The dining room felt open and spacious with half height walls in some places to give a sense of per table privacy between larger groups. There was just the right amount of tables to give the dining room the right feel of comfortable ambience without feeling crowded in or lost in a sea of tables. The views out the windows were amazingly picturesque, especially when dining during sunset hours. We did not have time to check out the outdoor dining area unfortunately, but plan to in the future.

After perusing the menu and ordering drinks and an appetizer of the day (Balsamic glazed Brussel sprouts; absolutely delicious!) we placed our main entree orders. I chose a daily special of Bourbon Glazed Atlantic Salmon paired with Broiled Scallops. I think the picture speaks for itself; IMO, for fine dining, the taste and portion size were about as perfect as can be. It’s been three days, and I can still remember the flavor and texture of both the scallops and the salmon; to me this speaks volumes of the quality of a prepared food.

Of note, the children’s portions were very generous. My daughter ordered the fried clam strip kids meal, and was inundated with a plate that would eventually leave leftovers. My son ordered the chicken tender meal, which again had huge portions; four very large strips that could easily total to a whole chicken breast in weight. (He made it through two and maybe two bites into the third and was stuffed)

My wife had an order of crab cakes, and were easily the freshest and tastiest we ever had. (Yes I stole a bite or two) The flavor and texture of the Crab Imperial used was perfection, and this is said after being in town and eating piles of crab all over for a whole week. (Including those cooked moments after being caught off a pier) I unfortunately did not get pictures of the tenders or crab cakes before they were feast upon, but there may be some posted by other reviewers.

Lastly, the staff was professional and courteous, and also very personable. Aside from the usual duties of ordering and serving, upon departing when pointing out some wall decorations we liked to each other, the staff (owner?) mentioned where they were bought and struck up a short conversation about it and the travels involved, which happened to be near our neck of the woods. This made for a very personal touch and is rare in many businesses, but make one stand out greatly. (I am always proud to patron and support these types of family run businesses and I hope you strive too also)

As I mentioned, if you are looking for fine dining on the island, this will hit the spot. The added charm of the scenery, the excellence of the staff, and the skill of the cooks in the kitchen made this an absolute win for us and we look forward to returning during our next trip into town.

The best seafood I've ever Had! Friendly staff as Well! During off season not so bad on seating, be warned reservation may be necessary during the season. Introduced to a new wine as well, Cavit Moscato, amazing!!! Loved it here!

We had a very enjoyable anniversary dinner . We started with an amazing lobster macaroni appetizer which was out of this world. Both of our entrees were also delicious. Our server Candy was terrific. And let's not forget our Smith Island Cake for dessert. Yummy!

Oysters Rockefeller and Clams Casino were both the best I have had. The scallops were super fresh. The staff were amazing!

This restaurant made the most memorable Valentine's Day for me, my husband and two kids! It was a peaceful, romantic environment and the staff did an excellent job making sure everything was perfect, considering it was opening night for the season. The food? Delicious! Although, our steak could have been a little more "done". It was a little pricey, but overall worth it, considering it was a special occasion. I give it five stars! I would definitely recommend this place, and we will be going back! It was an enjoyable family experience!

Food was amazing, we couldn't sit outside but we were able to get a set inside with a view luckily. Best thing is to make a reservation so you can be seated where you would like. Kids loved the chicken tenders, they were really good. Hubby got a New York Strip and it was cooked how he wanted it and delicious. I got chicken parmesan it was soooo much food. Also the bread you got before your food was amazing! I wish I could get my loaf to that standard.
Definitely eat here and make a reservation!

There were 2 of us for dinner andwe had no reservation but the hostess was great and got us a table. The service was spot on. I'm a eastern shore of MD resident and a professional chef for 50 years. The soft crabs were the best I've EVER had in a restaurant.
