Island Foods Great Valu

Cute little store with everything you need handy. Friendly staff allowed us to use the cart to bring groceries back to our boat a block or 2 away, which was super convient.

Best spot on the island for everyday needs and groceries

This a wonderful grocery store with very friendly employees. Sure prices may be a little higher than your local store, but the convenience merits a little higher price. This store is well stocked and saves me from hauling groceries especially cold or frozen goods in an ice chest that takes up a lot of cargo space.

This was a nice grocery store that has everything you need. It was very clean and stocked well. We ran out of diapers and needed to find a place. They had two options of size 5 or mostly infant sizes. So we got a brand we had never used before.

Just went shopping here. Wonderful customer service. Friendly staff. Wide selection of groceries. Will continue to shop here over the long weekend that I’m here on vacation. Absolutely 100% 10/10 stars!

If there's only going to be one grocery store on the island, Great Valu can't be beat. We showed up for our first day of vacation and went here to stock up on all the supplies we didn't (or forgot to) bring. In addition to fair prices (which, to be honest, shocked me, considering there's no competition!), Great Valu had a wide variety of gluten-free breads (my wife was very happy about this) and a surprisingly good selection of craft beers (I was very happy about this). They even had giant bags of cotton candy (my kids were very happy about this!). Thank you Great Valu for making grocery shopping into a pleasant experience!

Lots of great options and great prices. Two wonderful employees, who were very kind. We got to the store fifteen minutes before closing and we were rushing to get groceries and get out before they closed. When we were done checking out it was a little after ten and they were not bothered by it. Both employees were friendly, it is a great grocery store!!

A small grocery store but a nice stock, including some interesting and idiosyncratic choices like a half-dozen or more varieties of ginger beer including Fentimans and Fever-tree that aren't small-town regulars. Limited produce range but much was labeled organic. Prices competitive and quite good for a resort community.

We were worried that we were going to have to go to the mainland for groceries, but we found this great little store and were able to save a lot of driving for ourselves. It's small but well-stocked with a good selection of essential products. Definitely a life-saver when you need a few things and don't want to go on a long adventure.

Ok grocery store but some the items are a little expensive compared to other stores .

For being the only game in town the pricing is very comparable to what I have experienced in my own area. Nice selection on all items. Helpful employees. And saved a lot of time from traveling off Island.

For a medium sized island market, they stock a very large selection of grocery items. They have a beautiful olive and other cool mixed blended yummy things on a bar in front of a hot and cold deli. They make 5 star fried chicken. I recommend you call ahead for large orders. Wines and beers , and a beautiful meat department. Combine all this with a great friendly staff and why leave the island ?????? You won't be disappointed.

I find Island Foods to be a wonderful small grocery store. It stocks so many items even though the space is not large. Sale prices are very good and every day prices are reasonable. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I truly appreciate having Island Foods in Chincoteague.

Always Friendly Service. Great Sélection of items. Just be careful when checking out,items ring up more than tag states on shelf. Other downfall is if busy not enough cashier lanes open.

Island Foods in Chincoteague is a great place to shop also on Tuesdays they have cheap Fried Chicken which is really good also they have values in the back in carts at a discounted price the people are friendly and the place is real nice I recommend it if you ever in Chincoteague not hard to miss the only grocery store on the island.

Nice grocery store in the island as there isnt something mainstream like walmart here. For the convience it is a good place to stop as they have a bit of everything, groceries, liquors, home stuffs, everything u might need while on vacation. Prices are a little higher than average but no complaints.

The island only has this ONE grocery store. The aisles are very narrow and it takes a bit of doing to get around everything. The country charm and the extra effort from these folks make it an enjoyable shopping experience.
