A small, quiet space to enjoy a historical American River. If you are coming here expecting high traffic, accommodations, numerous trails, etc. You will be disappointed. This space is to enjoy nature in near solitude.

This place is amazing for winter camping, that is, if you hate other people. The park is almost always empty. In the summer, however, it offers a small boat ramp into the Patomac river for kayaks and canoes.

Very nice, quite park. If you walk down to the water, walk to the right about 100 feet and there is a sandy beach good for a small picnic

It was very disappointing to see the scores of No Parking signs which line the drive to the river. In my opinion this appears to be a tremendous waste of funds and takes away from the aesthetics of the surrounding environment.
Why not post just a few signs that say Park in Designated Areas Only - instead of dozens of awful looking unnatural signage? Was there an existing problem with parking that required these signs?

It's lots of fields. No facilities. River access for small boat launch (no boat trailer)
