Bull Run Occoquan Trail

Small parking lot. But a wonderful trail.

Beautiful quiet trail. I like to go down to the river on a weekday and let my dog swim. Recently saw this huge chicken of the woods mushroom.

Read it carefully:
1. Be aware of cyclists as they sometime come faster then expected
2. Don’t visit right after rain or even at the same day
3. Trials is best for summer
4. Follow the trails number as there are multiple line/small trials

I really like this trail.
If you take the time and go off the beat and path just a little, you find all types of relics and historical stuctures.
Its a very hilly trail, but the sights are quite pleasant.

Quiet but ghosts all over.

The marches to Gettysburg-

Only a very few parking spaces. Great trails. Heading South, the trail quickly crosses the historic Washington-Rochambeau Trail. This is an especially scenic trail with many creek and river views, shaded areas which provide respite on hot, sunny days, and lots of atmospheric peace. I often see blissed out dogs with their contented owners too.

A great woodsy hike in the historic Virginia Bull Run area

Great place to start a hike. Access to a part of the Bull Run Occoquan trail which is not accessible from the more crowded trailheads. There was a portable toilet at least the day I was there. Parking fairly limited. Open meadow if you want it.

Nice hiking trail and close in. Sometimes a little busy but always a nice hike.
