RJ the server and Clint the cook did an amazing level of effort for us for our first time there I will definitely be going back with more friends. all the food was delicious everything you could tell had handcrafted in artisan level efforts put in newer recipes were definitely spot on. The shrimp on top of the rice was amazing the ale-glazed sausage was spot-on for me and the country fried chicken went great with my wife. I was very satisfied and definitely would recommend this place hands down.

Spouse and I ate there last night under their new outdoor patio for our anniversary and it was delicious! Staff was friendly and answered our questions and they accommodated dietary restrictions without issue.

Spouse raved about the mac’n cheese, and this is definitely adult style mac’n cheese! The roasted chicken was very tasty and my dish was originally the roast beef sandwich, minus the bun due to dietary restrictions. Meat was tender and the au jus enhanced the flavors wonderfully. They subbed the homemade potato chips for roasted (fresh!) broccoli/cauliflower or a side salad.

Chef is offering a limited menu right now, but hopefully will expand the menu in the future. Know we look forward to seeing what else Chef has planned or dreams up! Prices are very agreeable.

Encourage you stop by if your tired of the existing restaurant scene in Woodbridge. Carry-out/curbside pick-up also available!

My husband and I arrived at 5pm on a Friday night for dinner. The owner was on site and welcomed us. We were shown to our table right away and ordered drinks. All of our food was good, but the Cherry Hand Pie was the star of the night! We will definitely be returning.

Great Fried Chicken! Beers are good, service is great but a little slow so don't be in a rush. Beautiful restaurant, definitely worth trying.

Wow. All I can say is wow. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Fire Roasted Chicken, and it was so flavorful and fresh, and you can't beat that price. Everyone I came with raved about their selections. I can't recommend this place more. If you're in the area, try it. You won't regret it.

Fantastic British-inspired food with a modern twist! My fiance and I drove an hour to visit this restaurant and we both agreed it was well worth the drive! We ordered the Beef Hand Pies, Beef and Orzo Stew, and Macaroni and Cheese. Everything was delicious, the presentation was impeccable, and our servers were top-notch. The beer was also great. The ambiance was relaxing and the whole place was sparkling clean. Would highly recommend!!!

Wow- what a jewel! I found this restaurant a week ago and we have been back twice. I love the food- it is like contemporary colonial recipes. There is so many good things I want to try, it is hard to decide. Everything we have ordered so far has been great! The ambulance of the restaurant is cool, it is the same style as the food- contemporary colonial. The staff is very kind and welcoming. We had Eden as our waitress both time and she awesome😊 We hope to come back next week and try a different item on the menu.

We went for a late Friday lunch here and sat on the patio for a casual meal. Tables are spaced appropriately apart, and I felt comfortable eating there (especially since it was a slower time of day and not many other people around).

The food was really, really good - I had the Hardy Chicken sandwich and my husband had the Beef Hand Pies. The tavern chips were pretty much perfect in terms of seasoning and texture.

The menu was mostly the same as the one posted online; there were a couple of additions for today. Service was great, although since there wasn't much traffic in and out of the patio area, we did end up going inside to pay since the server didn't know we were done. (Again, not a problem for us, but worth making other people aware.) They were out of a couple of items, but we rolled with it. Again, the food was fantastic and the server was friendly, so the minor issues didn't really bother us, especially given the difficult circumstances restaurants are operating under right now.

We did check out the inside of the restaurant and everything looked clean & spacious. We plan on returning for lunch again in the future (possibly takeout for dinner) and look forward to trying the other items on the menu!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant! We ordered the Mac and cheese, pot pie, and sausages over mash. Everything was perfectly cooked. Literally would not have changed anything about the food. They make everything in house from
Scratch so you have to wait a little bit for the food but we enjoyed a drink while we waited and the wait didn’t feel long at all. Our server Eden was friendly and attentive and provided excellent recommendations about the food. Desert was an apple crumble with ice cream. Delicious as well! This place is a gem and we will be back!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch and had a very pleasant experience. My wife had the Bens Beef Sandwich and she loved it. The roast beef was tender and flavorful. I got the Benedict Arnold Chicken Sandwich and it was the juiciest fried chicken I have ever had. The pimento and cheese with homemade potato chips was delicious. We will definitely be returning for dinner and recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was delicious! I went with a friend on a slow Monday evening - our server was very kind and delivered the news that they were out of several drink options politely. One of the chefs came out to say hello towards the end of our meal and had a nice chat with us. I loved all of the portion sizes, meal choices, and simplicity of the menu. I wish they had more vegetarian options (any, really), but I understand the vibe is “Revolutionary War Era Pub”. However - this is 2020 and our revolution is eat less animals 😎. Absolutely will be back, nonetheless. Loved it.

Nice ambience, great service, and delicious food! Our table had the pot pie, half chicken, Mac n cheese, and corn chowder. They were all delicious—especially the chowder! Everything was made from scratch, cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the presentation was very pretty. The prices were way better than expected—between $10-15 an entree (less for lunch). The pot pie could have used a bit more filling, but I’m nitpicking.

Heads up, the booths are very narrow. If anyone in your group has a gut, you might want to consider a table instead.

Wow. Fantastic flavors! The wife and I ordered food for pick-up, you know.. COVID and all being a thing, and we ate at home. We ordered the braised sausage (amazing flavor!), the chicken pot pie (great tasting chicken pot pie), and the Beef and Orzo (also great flavor. We will definitely return for more. Thanks Chef, for finally bringing some great flavors into the area, we need it! We look forward to dining in when we can all do that again. Meanwhile, we'll be ordering more soon.

Second Time Ordering: That isn't an ordinary chicken sandwich, it's extraordinary. I know, you'd think with these compliments that I worked for them... I do not. I can only remember a few great meals I have had in my life. Food just doesn't create lasting memories.. normally. With B. Franklin's, 4 meals = 4 memories. If you pass up an opportunity to try this food, then you don't like to eat.

Their roast beef sandwich was on point. Had an appropriate amount of horseradish and the au jus was delicious. I picked up the cup of au jus and drank it. The housemade potato chips were very tasty. My wife liked her chef salad. Place is a little pricey but it definitely beats the monotony of the mall restaurants. Will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our visit. The food was delicious (we had the baked chicken... so good!... and the sausage) and was at gastro-pub level, which is to say, very well prepared. I had not had any beers from 6 Bears & a Goat Brewery (Fredericksburg) but found both the IPA and the blonde to be tasty and well paired with the food. We can't wait to see what they do here in the near future, based on the quick tour we took. This will be something unique for the area. Looking forward to a return visit and to explore the expanded menu. We have a new favorite!

I’ve been here about 6 times and each time the food is delicious, hot and well prepared. The ambience is beautiful with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! I have had almost everything on the menu but my absolute favorite is the Hardy Chicken sandwich. So much better than any chicken sandwich I’ve had. Will most definitely be returning.

Second time back and ill keep coming back, this time I had the double cut ribeye, and the chef cooked it to a perfect medium-rare, the cherry hand pie was the best I've had. The customer service is fantastic here; the chef came to my table to make sure everything was cooked to perfection. As well the waiter made an excellent recommendation for dessert
