Stone Hearth Bakery

Stop every morning for a scone, best around. Bread selection is huge, the muffins are delicious, chocolate croissant is one of the best I've had. So friendly when you walk in.

I can't speak to the taste, service, or atmosphere of Stone Heath Bakery (they were closed when I stopped by) but the *smell* of their bread was absolutely incredible. My wife and I were walking by (while visiting Frederick) when we were caught up in the smell of their bread. Not to worry, we're planning to return to Frederick when Stone Heath Bakery is open! We can't wait to try their bread.

If you are coming to Downtown Frederick, come here! They have amazing baked goods but I will highlight my favorites. The scones are fantastic. They are not typically British scones but they are dry and mild. The coconut scones are great. I usually get a chicken empanada every time I go there around lunch time. The are filling and not very spicy. If you like tres leches cake, try this one, you will not be disappointed.

Love this bakery!!! Although parking is hard to get, it is well worth finding it. Love their breads, empanadas, and tarts!!! 😛

If you want some really great, freshly baked goods, then this is the place to go. You can find an assortment of pastries, cakes and bread that would satisfy everyone! You can even order items for holidays and birthday celebrations. Parking can be a little rough as there are only 5 spots alongside the bakery, but you can find parking on a nearby street and walk over. I would highly recommend it as I think this is the number 1 bakery in Frederick.

So dissapointed to have to edit my review of a few years ago. While the quality of Stone Hearth was very good The prices and service has been dissapointing. My last visit in the early summer 2023 was the last straw.I understand the economy has caused price hikes but they seemed excessive at Stone Hearth. The biggest turn off was the young women waiting on me. I purchased bread, roll,s and pastry. I noticed I was over charged on my bag of rolls. They were marked $10.00 for bag of 6. My reciept showed I was charged $11.00. I told the young women and pointed to the sign over the bread. Her reply was condescending and rude "No the sign is wrong goodbye". I have not returned since. I miss the quality of the baked goods at Stone Hearth but between the cost and rude service I have not returned.

First time customer and item purchased was great, highly recommend and will send friends and family.

My wife and I recently stopped by here for her birthday. So glad we did. This quaint little bakery is crammed with deliciousness! We picked up a few dessert items. Our personal favorites was the blueberry lemon cake, the chocolate covered cheesecake, and the triple chocolate cake.
I also picked up a fresh loaf of country French bread. IT WAS INCREDIBLE.
This bakery also makes fresh empanadas.
We will most definitely come here again!

There's so much variety and everything is delicious. The smell of baking bread is glorious!

GREAT breads and other bakery times! We go here often for their asiago baguettes and devour them so quickly each time. We also really enjoy their meat and cheese pastries and eat those as a fast lunch some days. We will always come back here! Fantastic selection of homemade breads, rolls, and pastries. You won't be disappointed!

Luckily my son introduced this sweet little bakery to me with a carrot cake for my birthday. It was the best carrot cake I have ever had - moist and just the right amount of sweetness. We have since gone back for other birthdays and have enjoyed their chocolate mousse cake - perfection. Very light and airy. The breads are also fresh and delicious.We will definitely be back to try some more goodies.

Today was my first visit to Stone Hearth and I will definitely go again and again....sensational breads, scones and pastries. I bought a little bit of everything for my family to try and everything was fresh and delicious! I would strongly recommend the Stone Hearth to anyone interested in delicious baked good!

Love the owner. Such a wonderful man. Their breads are sensational. The light sunflower is one of my favorites - perfectly nutty throughout. The herb bread is stronger and not consistent throughout the load but somehow very addicting. The croissants aren't as flaky as I like and I prefer about twice the amount of almond paste in my almond one but that's me. The almond tart is good but heavy and again, I prefer more almond paste. Prices are great, service lovely, breads the only place to go in town. Still need to try the empanadas! Truly a great bakery!

Stone Hearth is a wonderful little bakery with super polite staff. Their bread is made very well and keeps for days. I highly recommend them!

We were especially fortunate tonight as we were able to enjoy the last two slices of tiramasu available in the bakery today, thanks to a kind and generous stranger ahead of me in line. We swooned over the decadent dessert and couldn't be happier knowing that such delicious treats are available by our local bakery! We also regularly enjoy the rosemary bread, scones and almond croissants. Thank you for your excellent baked goods.

Locally owned, small bakery serving up the best baked goods in the area. Check out the fresh baked breads (good selection) and look at the fresh pies and cakes. Of course there are plenty of small bites if you wish to treat yourself after a nice walk through the several small shops that surround this bakery. Cookies, pies, coffee... seating inside as well.

Service was fast and the lady was super friendly. Bread can be cut for you in the store. We bought a strawberry shortcake for a birthday and it was a-m-a-z-I-n-g!! I believe the word "perfect" was said about five times from the birthday girl while she ate her slice. Fresh strawberry slices between the layers, fluffy frosting that wasn't sweet or heavy and not from a can, moist delicious cake. Oh man that was delicious! We'll be returning customers for sure. The cake was $30 and well worth it for the quality and size we received.

Some seating inside. Parking around the side in a parking lot or on the side street. Plenty of shops to visit nearby as well.

I love this bakery! I have tried the Danish pastries, tarts, empanadas and scones and they have all been delicious. To give an idea of the prices, this morning we got 4 empanadas, 2 danishes, 1 slice of chocolate covered cheesecake, and 1 slice of tres leches for $29. I miss living walking distance to it, but there is usually enough parking on the side street.

Incredible. Simply the best baked goods around. Empanadas, baked bread, cookies, sweets. Fantastic. Will not disappoint.

Wonderful bakery with a nice selection of breads along side the classic baked goods. Staff is so kind and attentive to the customers. I recommend the rosemary loaf although I haven't had a bad one yet.

Great food at fair prices with excellent service. My favorite bakery anywhere around here.
