Firestone's Culinary Tavern

Came here for a Friday night date and was very happy with the experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. I will definitely be coming back with friends.

Decided to try out Firestone's Culinary Tavern for brunch. We have eaten dinner here before but this was the first time we have attended brunch.

Making a reservation was easy. Using Resy we were able to book the 2 person reservation for 2 pm (they were booked until then) and had no issues beig seated when we arrived. Glad to see that restaurants are starting to fill up again.

The restaurant is on two levels. A bar with some restaurant seating on the entry level and an upstairs balcony that had most of the restaurant seating. I love the neon sign on the left at the bar when you walk in - Good Food, Strong Drinks! Quite appropriate.

Our waitress was Courtney and she was attentive and helpful in making suggestions, etc. I opted for coffee and Eggs Benedict (with extra Hollandaise sauce) with an additional fruit bowl side. We also had the Espresso Martini and Coop's Gumbo. The Eggs Benedict was very good and my wife enjoyed the Gumbo. She mentioned it has "a kick to it" (as it should!) and was made with homemade sausage and shrimp over jasmine rice. I really wanted to Strawberry Shortcake, but I was full. Overall a decent meal. Plenty of options for drinks ranging from cocktails, wine and beers.

Enjoyed the food, loved the service and a nice atmosphere. Stop by and try it for yourself.

Everything was excellent. Food, staff and atmosphere! Oysters were one of the best I’ve ever had. Scallops were so delicious. I had rockfish and my husband had wagyu sirloin both of which were perfectly cooked and juicy. Last of all, we ate the best creme brûlée of all tume. Special thanks to the chef of the restaurant!! It was beyond our expectations.

This was probably the best food I’ve ever had. I had dinner here with my dad on a Tuesday night. Service was quick, kind, respectful, and hard working. I can’t even begin to explain how good the food was. The burger was on point, the Caesar salad was crisp with just the perfect amount of dressing, and the cheesecake was creamy with a side of paradise. Absolutely phenominal job by this restaurant. If you are in the area I HIGHLY recommend. 💯

This place is a gem! Gluten free options for all of their menu items. A phenomenal crab cake (gf) with arancini on the side (also gf!!). My husband had the pork chop and said it was the best that he ever had. Our server Kristopher was amazing! The drink menu was spectacular and worth checking out especially for whiskey lovers. This will be our new place to go when we want an awesome night out.

A friend of ours suggested that we meet at firestone's while we were in Frederick... My friend clearly knew the best place in town to eat. I had the rockfish My wife had crab cakes for appetizer I ordered the chef charcuterie board selection $50... And when we saw it on the website we thought it would be too expensive but worth every penny.

My partner and I went in for an early dinner at 4:30, the atmosphere was wonderful and inviting. We were seated upstairs which was quaint and beautifully decorated. Our server immediately came over after we were seated, he was attentive and just an absolute joy. We ordered a starter and our entree’s after he brought us our beverages. We were surprised by a wonderful taste of mushroom bisque as well as an incredible taste of fruit sorbet. When our entree’s arrived the presentation was outstanding as well as the taste. We will definitely be visiting again.

We tried the mussels starter- it was SO delicious. Very creamy and flavorful. Highly recommend!
I got the seafood boil as my entree, and it was great. Plenty of food, and a completely different flavor than the mussels from the starte
My husband got the souper grilled cheese and he said it was 10/10. He didn’t like the mushroom bisque as much, but we were sufficiently full by the time he got to it.
I also got a nice cocktail, Flora French. It was light and tasty.
The service was excellent and attentive, very friendly. A great experience.

We made reservations which I think was important because they were super busy. We were sat right away upstairs looking out over the street. It was a great seat really. Our server was great. She was very friendly and we didn't lack for anything the whole time. We were there for almost two hours but we had a starter and dessert. The timing between the courses wasn't too bad. Just expect to stay a little while on a Friday night. Our food was over all delicious. The bread pudding dessert blew us away. The portions are honestly pretty good. We will definitely be back next time we r in Frederick. The atmosphere outside was pretty cool so it was nice to watch as people went by from our table upstairs.

Highly recommend!! First time visitors & impressed with food & service! I made a reservation for our party of 9 to celebrate my daughter's 20th birthday. We were seated in a comfy "loft" semi-private section upstairs overlooking restaurant...perfect seating!! Tavern atmosphere as expected. Our waitress was very attentive, sweet & provided excellent service throughout our meal. Although everything was outstanding & the flavors created a party in my mouth, some of the dishes we had were the fried green tomatoes, crab dip, butter poached lobster with risotto, crab cakes, arugula salad, signature oyster & espresso martini. All dishes made with fresh ingredients & their house rolls are incredible! Must try this culinary treat located right in downtown Frederick (allow time to find parking). Excellent experience & birthday dinner!!

We stopped in for Sunday brunch - shared an entree, app, and then dessert. Everything was delicious, but we absolutely LOVED the Smores Bread Pudding dessert.

Additionally, I'm from further south than MD and appreciate a good cup of sweet tea - our wonderful server, Matthew P, had the great solution of bringing me a glass of unsweet tea and some simple syrup. The perfect solution to unsweet tea! He had a great idea and great service throughout our outdoor visit. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent service, delicious and amazingly flavorful food. Every dish we ordered was cooked and seasoned to perfection. There were a lot of little details on many of the dishes that elevated the food. My only critique was how loud it was in the restaurant.

We ordered catering for a small wedding reception. Mazie was a joy to work with, very responsive when it came to coordinating, and the food was delicious and well priced for the quality and service. Easy 5 stars!

Had a very nice date night with my wife and we couldn't have picked a better restaurant to try for our first time. Food was delicious, service was amazing, and we got a nice seat upstairs right along the window. We will definitely be going back!!

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We did not have a reservation but were lucky and got seated right away on the upper level overlooking the bar. I do suggest reservations. The meal was top shelf! We started with the crab dip and didn't leave a speck. I had the veal shank and it was amazing! Michele had the sirloin and loved it! Do take the time to eat here if you're ever even close to Fredrick.

Incredible experience. Both entrees (lamb osso bucco and a steak dish) were cooked very well. Lamb was especially tender! Will definitely return again.

Great place to come for brunch on a weekend in Frederick. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. The space is nicely decorated and kept the classic appearance on the inside. My wife had the eggs and hash, while I tried the sausage gravy. All of the food was tasty and the portions were generous.

Firestones has both fantastic food and service! We both really enjoyed our meals- the duck and steak. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It does get a little loud upstairs due to the bar below BUT the great food out weighs that small inconvenience. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely love this place! From the server to the palate cleansers to the perfectly spaced out cuisine that you would only expect in fine dining all under one roof! My fiance and I ordered the grilled calamari, mushroom ravioli and bacon wrapped filet. Best of all I reserved a table for us through open table with the request of 2nd level window seat and sure enough it was accompanied! Thank you for making our date night memorable

Food is amazing here!! Reservations can be made via OpenTable. Highly recommend the crab dip, scallops and steak. Service was really great! On top of the delicious food my friends and I ordered, our server brought out a few small things complimentary from the restaurant which was so sweet!
