I've used many pharmacy's before. It's common sense that pharmacy's are busy, most times understaffed and over worked. Yes, there have been lines at times when I pick my medicine up and sometimes no line, it's a pharmacy so I know to expect one or the other. I've never waited too terribly long and the staff is always friendly and on point. Seems like the other complaints on here are from people expecting no line and immediate service, good luck trying to find that with a pharmacy! Costco pharmacy is the best I've experienced hands down.

The pharmacy staff is very helpful and takes the time to make sure you understand your medicines. I have filled prescriptions for my dog and they were kind enough to hold a filled prescription for a week while we waited on blood tests to make sure my pup still needed the medication.

My dog 🐕 needed his medication and they were the only place that filled it for me

Friendly staff, good prices, easily renew prescriptions.

They’re well intended, but it seems a rare occasion that my meds are ready or even have arrived in a shipment when I come to pick my stuff up. So a one time trip (or what should be) often entails waiting or returning later.

I will say that Aaron, pharmacy manager, is friendly and listens to my concerns when I have a question

I don't believe that the inefficiency of the Frederick MD Costco pharmacy is indicative of all but twice my wife has dropped off prescriptions and been told she could wait and they would be ready in 45 min, 2-hrs later, still not ready, this has happened twice at least, one took 2-days.

Every time, seriously every time I try to use the pharmacy, there is a long wait; even when I am the only customer in line. prices are good, but not worth the ridiculous time it takes just to get someone to help you.

This pharmacy is a wreck. They never have my medication in stock & I never know until I run out only to find it’s back ordered & they don’t know when they will have it again. No phone call, no voicemail, no nothing - I understand back orders & inventory issues but I can’t understand poor customer service

Don't do it. Find someplace else. This is consistently the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. Don't get me wrong, we adore the rest of Costco. But the pharmacy is a nightmare.

Here's a brief description of my latest experience. I call in a prescription refill, a pain cream for my back. Easy, right?

I show up the next day to pick up said prescription. Nope, not ready, come back again. Show up the following day, now out of pain cream, and was told, no, it's not filled yet.

"Why not?" I ask. I was told to wait. Then told to move to the consulting area. When the pharmacist comes out to explain the delay, "We didn't know who the prescriber was," is the excuse. This is a prescription they originally filled.

Then, suddenly, they must have found who the prescriber is, because I was told it would be ready in 15 mins. So I waited. By this time I've been on my back for over 40 minutes dealing with this and I'm in real pain.

When the prescription was ready, they wanted me to stand in line a second time (really a third time if you count the day before). I couldn't. I was in too much pain. Standing for another 10-15 minutes in that damn line was not in the cards. I just hobbled back to the car.

Poor hours. Lack of service. Always lines. It's bad. But the worst part is they simply don't care about their patients. It's a cattle prod. Mass production without customer service.

We love Costco, but when it comes to prescriptions, best to go somewhere else.

I went to get a painkiller prescription filled there. The pharmacist insisted that she had to contact my doctor. Well, the doctor's office being closed on a Saturday, that did not work. The requirement to contact my doctor is an arbitrary rule imposed at this location. I've been to other pharmacies, not one of them ever asked to contact my doctor. Moreover, while figuring out what to do the pharmacist asked me a whole bunch of medical questions. It is not for *her* to judge whether I need the medicine or not. She is not a doctor, she has not seen the exams done, she has no access to my medical history. This pharmacy prejudicially assumes that people who need painkillers are junkies and must prove that they are not before they can get their medicine.

Yeah. Very strange. I agree with other comments here. Not typical Costco at all. Glasses dept was the Exact opposite, amazing help. No help on the phone from Rx tech. Told me to come in. I come in and no help from another tech. Both techs were acting like I was trying to get State secrets. This was months apart. If these's some reason the techs can't answer questions, like they were sued or something for giving out wrong info, at least let us know why the strange policy? (Wanted pricing) I should call a manager tomorrow to find out why. Well, second time l left without a purchase. Strange. Picked up Rx from local pharmacy on way home...

Everytime, no kidding, I think with only 2 exceptions, whenever I am a Customer at the Frederick Costco Pharmacy, I always find myself waiting...there were 3 employees there...I was the ONLY customer...and I'm waiting. One of 3 said they would be right with me. Why am I waiting...I waited about 10 min. and left!!!! I RARLY HAVE A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WITH FREDERICK COSTCO PHARMACY!!!!!

If I could give this pharmacy any less stars I would. What an absolute S show this place is. Always massive lines, meds never ready, workers who don't know what they are doing. Run! Pick another pharmacy I promise you won't regret it.

What a mess.... I agree with Marie... zero stars if that was a choice...rarely have medications onsite... apathetic staff... long waits... just awful...Most of the 5 stars are obviously bogus.... find somewhere else it ain't worth the trouble... sux
