Carolina Family Vet

Carolina Family Vet is by far the best vet we've ever taken our 14 and 12 year old dogs too. We moved to the area in the fall and selected Carolina Family Vet based on reviews we read as we did not know anyone in the area. Dr. Miller was very thorough and great at explaining everything, all of the staff are so nice and knowledgable as well, the facility is very well maintained. Our 14 year old Shiba Inu Oreo had to have a good amount of teeth removed this week. During the procedure that day, we received phone call updates throughout the day and when we picked her up, were given a full rundown by the vet tech and a great little decorated take home bag with instructions, medications and special instructions with how sweet and well behaved she was. The next day, we received a follow up call the next day to check up on her to make sure we didn't need anything additional before they closed for the week as it was a Friday. We also received a discount on the surgery because February is National Pet Dental Awareness Month. Very positive experience overall and Oreo is recovering nicely!

Have been coming here for our dog Cecil for years and have absolutely loved the care we receive. The staff here make sure he is healthy while staying within our budget. Today we came in with my daughter’s stuffed sloth who she said had many boo-boos. Jackie and Josh took this issue very seriously and I can happily say that both Cecil and “Soft-Soft” the Sloth are well on their way to recovering. 🩷

Most thorough conversation I’ve ever had with a vet or vet team, which was especially nice with having brought in 3 poodles at once. The team was all friendly and pleasant, and great with our poodle pack. The doctor was not rushed and he took his time explaining everything very well. Same for the tech. They listened to everything we had to say, including that I needed to work within a budget. They explained what we could do within that clearly and kindly, with the numbers in black and white. Front desk staff person was really nice as well.

Honestly, I was impressed with our visit, and it felt quite nice to have it as a positive part of our day.

Took the poodles to the groomer the next day. She needed a copy of their rabies vaccinations (which we had with us) and a copy of their bordatella vaccinations (which we did not have with us.) I called the veterinary office and they were so quick to email that info to the groomer for me. So nice!

Great vet and staff. Following various homeopathic remedies and visits to other vets in the area for years, we began going here 4+ years ago to find a remedy for our dog who had very bad allergies. Eventually, we found CFV. Dr. Miller's recommended testing and plan helped our sweet dog, and she's been doing well ever since. Karen and front desk staff warmly welcome everyone and answer the phone with a smile and greet us consistently with respect, kindness, and awareness about animal care.

Dozens of times we've shared recommendations through our word of mouth. They are the vet for all our fur-babies, including the cat, (pictured) who at 18 years young is our feline crone. Even when CFV are uber busy, they work hard to smile, be efficient, and show what excellent customer service looks like. Other docs have consistently provided quality vet services as well. READ THIS! I left a review in 2022 or so saying that they had treated my cat with the utmost amazing care. Well, I wanted to make an update. Unfortunately my 15 year old cat began having some irreversible health issues and we had to make the worst decision any pet parent has to make. I just want to say that Dr. Miller and his staff, Josh and Kaela and others I don’t know the names of, were remarkable in their handling of my baby’s peaceful passing. I can’t begin to thank them enough for making this horrible day bearable and comfortable. They made absolutely certain that my baby was at peace and took every measure to ensure that me and my family were well informed and comforted. You can rest assured that this vet clinic will take the best care possible of your fur baby and any other pets you may have.

I can not thank the staff here enough for taking such good care of my boxer. He is the sweetest dog until he goes to the vet, then he turns into the spawn of satan 👿. I really appreciate you guys being so patient with him and his care. I highly recommend Carolina Family Vet.

This is my second dog with Carolina Family Vet. I will not choose another vet in Asheville. They are wonderful and so kind. Very patient with my baby Texas !

Caring, careful, and all around professional. They handled my anxious dog who needed eardrops very well. (And attended to my anxiety well too!) I enjoy the friendly staff so much and I feel good about the care and attention my dog gets here. Thanks y'all.

Update: Just want to reiterate how wonderful my experience here has been and the high quality of care my dog has received. As my dog gets older, she’s experiencing some age-related issues that Dr. Miller has helped us navigate. Everyone (from the receptionists to the vet techs to the veterinarian) is so kind and really takes the time to answer any questions you might have. I appreciated that Dr. Miller called me as soon as possible after my dog was done with her procedure and then met with me when I came to pick her up. He made sure to answer my questions and talk me through treatment options (and didn’t make me feel rushed at all). I have very high standards of care for anyone who takes care of my dog and they always exceed them at this practice. I also feel like my dog is being loved on while she’s there- she couldn’t have any food this morning before her procedure and Karen told me she would make sure Wrigley got some treats afterwards ❤ The staff always seem genuinely excited to see the pets that come in. Thank you so much for all you do!

We recently moved to the area and our dog needed some basic veterinary care. We had a great experience at Carolina Family Vet! We were able to get a next-day appointment (pretty much unheard of in Chicago, where we moved from) and the cost of care was very reasonable. All of the staff from the front desk and veterinary assistants (Karen and Veronica) to the veterinarian (Dr. Mays) were so kind and helpful. We are happy to call this our new vet practice!

My first experience with CFV was wonderful. I have a Pitt that has an extensive hx of abuse as a former bait dog. She's a sweetheart with people but reactive with other dogs. I love that upon learning this, they took measures such as getting us into the exam room right away and even checking out/paying from inside our room. This is a stark contrast compared to the stressful experience at my former local vet of every time waiting in the front while other people bring their pets in, assuming that they should let their dog rush mine to say hi.
I appreciate the Safety measures they took and also surprised that we were seen so quickly. They were also so great with my cat and trimming his machete like nails!

10/10 recommend the receptionist and assistants are techs are amazing! They took very good care of us while we were there! Dr. Komanski you are amazing thank you for your dedication and undivided attention to my boy Jake! You all are wonderful keep up the good work!

My pets are always welcomed at Carolina Family Vet. We especially love Josh because he always remembers us and is very kind and helpful!

Dr Miller and his staff are awesome! We take our 2 Chihuahuas and 3 kitties there. My kitty, Arwen is on the aggressive side, but Chrystal is awesome in handling her! My other kitty, Aragorn was very sick and Dr Miller took great care of him and he started feeling better within an hour or two after seeing him! Love all the caring staff and highly recommend taking your fur babies there! ❤

We had a great experience. I highly recommend. They went above and beyond, working us in on a Saturday to make sure our dog was ok. The staff and doctor handled our corky heeler with love and understanding. This is officially the best clinic I have been to! I don’t say that lightly as I have worked it the pet care industry for over 2 decades. They genuinely care about your pet and are priced fairly.

Wonderful place. The staff is nice and gentle with all pets. Usually not crowded.

The staff at Carolina Family Vet are professional, friendly and really know how to gently handle each "patient". I just wish I did not have to medicate my dog before having his nails clipped. Crystal is always very good with my dog.

When I tell you I love them I LOVE them.
I moved away leaker this year and trying to find a new vet is impossible. My dog was sick and I was scared and everyone wants me to wait longer than I can. I called here and him being established they already were aware of his problems. I drove over a hour back to my hometown for them. They got him in immediately and didn’t treat him like a cash register. They are very upfront and answer your questions. They were so kind to me and him even got down on the floor to make him comfortable. They are well priced too and will work within your budget if need be. I highly recommend this family vet because they really do feel like family. Thanks again for calming this fur mama down and helping my son.

Excellent care for a pet emergency. Also good care for regular check up. Most impressive was how well the clipped my dog nails.
