Cozy and romantic, but lively and a great place to hang out. The food was wonderful from the nuanced crab dip to the perfectly cooked sea bass and chocolatey lava cake and Smith Island cake. Service was friendly and on top of everything. I would definitely come back here.

THE best food I've had in Maryland thus far! Each item was a 10/10. Crab dip is a must for an appetizer and the Cajun pasta was better than any Italian restauran could ever make.

Got the fried chicken sandwich since it was recommended. It tastes pretty good. The sweet potato fries are really good too. The brownie is also an excellent dessert option.

Our experience at the Main Cup was excellent. Our family met there for dinner on a Friday evening. We arrived at 6:25 for a 6:30 reservation and were seated immediately. Our server, Val approached us almost immediately and suggested drinks and appetizers. We ordered both. The spinach dip was excellent. My table mates said the crab dip was also excellent. I am allergic so I didn't try it. The whole evening went extremely well. The food was terrific and courses came out at appropriate times. Val provided some of the best service we have ever had in a restaurant. My only issue was the noise in the bar area. Having been a server for many years I know this is beyond any one's control and a product of a successful eating and drinking establishment. This restaurant changed ownership this week and we will return to see it the new owner maintains such a level of service, integrity and high food quality.

My dad and I love this place. Great big menu. Everything we’ve had is amazing. Fast service. Entire staff is so friendly (especially love bartender Lisa). Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience today during lunch service. I took 3 of my kids out and was honestly nervous about how it would go. However, our server was SO sweet, and very kind and attentive to my kiddos. It was super busy with 2 very large parties, but no one kept us waiting. The food was delicious, and at my request, the owner excitedly brought paper and crayons for the kids to color when they were becoming anxious. I feel that the changes coming with the new ownership are exciting and the food was still excellent, just as it always has been. Thank you! See you again soon!

We drive from West VA to enjoy this restaurant. Great tasting quality food. Great service. Sadly, many restaurants have declined in food quality and service. The Main Cup is the exact opposite and worth the drive when we want to enjoy an afternoon or evening out.

We had an event at the Main Cup on Saturday. We had 24 people and were able to reserve their room in the front. Everything was wonderful, from beginning to end. I met with Bob early in the week to finalize the menu (which he printed and had at each place setting). I made a few changes during the week which they gracefully accommodated. The space was perfect (we had one large table for 24, which turned out to be fun), the servers were attentive and fun, the food was delicious. I'm so grateful for this space. I had forgotten they have this front room, and called a few places in downtown Frederick, which had ridiculous minimum charges. The Main Cup charged us for what we purchased. The drinks, appetizers, food, and atmosphere were perfect. I'm so glad we had the event here.

Fantastic. Excellent service and food! I wanted to try so many things but every we did pick was great... ZERO complaints. Crab dip, Lettuce wraps with salmon, steak sandwich, Mahi tacos (blackened), balsamic salmon.... All winners. I'll definitely be back.

April 4, 2023 - The Main Cup in Middletown offers good food, splash of history, plus a whiff of country farm air, then top it off with some homemade ice cream ! It’s been a few years since coming back to Middletown, you can’t beat the drive along the Old National Pike through Farm Country !

Originally Charles F. Main’s 1892 Meat Market, then added Ice Cream shop in 1911. . . Bob & Kimberly Brenengun started renovations in 2007. With a few historic loans, a New Main’s Cup ( coffee house) opened in 2013. It’s grown and become popular among the locals.

Our party of 6 arrived for lunch, and were seated by Sarah quickly. The Main Cup is open Monday to Saturday, 11 am to 9 pm !

Everyone was pleased with our lunch orders!
The Blackened Salad was excellent! As was my friend’s Grilled Reuben sandwich! I enjoyed my Grilled Rachel stuffed with sliced Turkey with Cole slaw on rye bread! My wife loved her Mediterranean Salad ! The salmon and strawberry salad was prepared perfectly! My only suggestion would be to provide more local Maryland beers, especially for those visiting who enjoy tasting craft beers !

The restaurant had plenty of room, and rooms for all occasions! Maybe a group of friends celebrating a birthday or work retirement? Maybe a softball team relaxing after a tournament? Maybe a holiday party among neighbors? There is outside patio under cover dining too! Frederick local newspaper awarded The Main Cup in 2019 & 2020 Best in Frederick ! Yea! Don’t forget the Ice Cream !

Several President’s have passed along the Old National Pike , and stopped here in Middletown. George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Dwight Eisenhower have traveled this road! The old Zion Lutheran Church across the street is a landmark since 1859. The town is changing with new housing up the street, but slow down and enjoy the old homes along Main Street in Middletown. . . maybe stop for “a bite to eat” at The Main Cup!

Great Service!! I like to explain that the restaurant is a homemade food restaurant. It gives a cozy vibe and is really clean. The ravioli I ate was out of this world and the lava cake was so good that I could take a pic before trying it jajaja. I will be back for sure.

Nice and comfortable. Cute and kitschy. Great food. Cold drafts - domestic & crafts. Maybe pick up some coffee beans while you're in. Probably the best steak and cheese I've ever had.

Great place to eat, crab dip, spinach dip with pita chips were fantastic, and shrimp soup was so delicious with the right balance of flavor. wings had just the right amount of sauce. Fish and chips and salmon strawberry salad was very good too. ALL the desserts were yummy. GREAT service - Phoebe H was super friendly, quick and efficient. will come back again!

We visit the main cup at least 3 times a month. It's our favorite place to eat in Middletown. Hopefully, it continues to be a good spot under new ownership!

Went with friends one night and enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s located downtown, which makes parking a little more difficult, but the restaurant is very well kept and can be either causal or formal for some. It’s much prettier at night with the lights and music.

It was a whole different atmosphere. The service was great, waitresses were very respectful and helpful. The drinks were great and the ambiance was serene. I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic getaway or family and friends time out.

Very enjoyable spot. Service is great! Mahi Mahi sandwich was delicious as well as the cookies and cream Smith Island cake.

Stopping in this evening after work for drink and dinner. Great atmosphere and specials. Dinner was on point. Had wings, buffalo and sweet chili, then spicy sausage pizza, extra sausage. Turned out great! Their broccoli salad was amazing as well. Thanks for the great customer service as always!
