Il Porto Restaurant

Ordered a Veal Parmegiana and got what I expected, although the slice was very thin, it was a great dish. Accompanied with some linguini and fresh marinara sauce.

Topped with 2 full spoons of parmesan cheese, loved that!

The entrée bread is good, just wanted to suggest that the butter could be at room temperature instead.

Also tried the chicken marsala, which was a well made dish as well.

Service was excellent! Food was amazing. We had the calamari which was cooked to perfection. My dad had the lobster ravioli (special) and said it was the best he has ever had. My daughter and I split a plate if the chicken alfredo and it was just lovely. The home made tiramisu is fantastic too. They really made her 10th birthday experience special.

Food and service were both great! Server was able to make a great appetizer recommendation.

Overall, just a great experience. Can't wait to go back!

This is one of our favorite restaurants for several reasons. Service is consistently great (every one is friendly and listens to us attentively); there are plenty to choose for both meat lovers and vegetarians; the restaurant maintains its brightness and clean even though it is a type of historic location; one can always find a parking in a near distance. The only advise is that sometimes, the music (Italian Opera) is a bit loud but some customers enjoy it ^-^

What an extraordinary experience. If you are looking for a truly authentic Italian restaurant, this is the place. My whole family came out to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday and with the amazing selection of restaurants in Frederick it was hard to narrow it down, but this place is something special. You can tell the entire staff puts their hearts into the atmosphere, service, and most importantly the food. A wide but not overwhelming variety of plates including chef specials, and every dish was prepared with flavor, flare, and depth. If you haven’t noticed, I cannot say enough good things about this place. I look forward to going back again, for another sensational meal.

Without question, the best Italian restaurant in the Frederick area. It’s on the edge of downtown so parking can be an adventure- drop your party off early and go find a spot. The restaurant is not huge so its crowded for dinner but it’s worth it- the food is amazing and the wait staff is top notch. Great bar and bartender as well. Make a reservation, especially for dinner.

Was packed but we were seated quick. Service was outstanding, quickly checked on us and kept our water glasses full. Drinks were surprisingly cheap but delicious and very nicely presented.

A friend got the Bloody Orange martini and I got the Presidential martini. For food choices, a friend got the chicken Parmesan and I got the shrimp and scallops Fra Diavolo. Both were delicious. Highly recommended.

Very authentic Italian dishes. Great service and had a window table (with a nearby heater to stave off the chill from outside). Good wine selection and cocktails. Will go again!

Absolutely amazing dinner. Everything was so fresh. Service is always excellent. I highly recommend the burrata. Best I've had.

Food was excellent, wine selection was good. Only thing i would say is it is dark in there so if you are getting older like myself, reading the menu may be difficult but we are resourceful lol. Highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed

went for a 40th Bithday celebration. Food was excellent and the service was fantastic. everyone enjoyed their meals, apps and desserts. our waiter was amazing to watch going from one table to the next always attentive. This restraunt is Frederick favorite for good reason! Go and enjoy a wonderful meal!

It was our first time going to the restaurant and we loved it! You can’t get a bad dish on the menu and the staff was very accommodating and polite. I’d recommend a reservation if you want to go for dinner because it fills up fast!

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, superb service. We had manicotti and tortellini both were delicious. The homemade bread is addictive. Enjoy!

How much do I adore Il Porto…let me count the ways. The food is fresh, delicious, both innovative and classic. The atmosphere is romantic and also social: It feels like Little Italy, a place you long to linger. Go for dinner and you will become a regular. It happened to me.

Il Porto makes you feel special every time you go. There is a lot of high class with the service and presentation, but no high brow attitude at all. The food is delicious in every respect! The eggplant parmigiana is so tasty and I have had their pork shank marinaded in red white sauce a couple of times — to die for!
The wait staff is very friendly no matter how crowded it gets. This is a real restaurant serving real food in a fancy-ish atmosphere.
... and not crazy expensive!

Spending more time in MD these days. Always try to have a meal here. One of the restaurants I enjoyed going to when I lived in Frederick.

Great food and drink at a reasonable price. Generous portions everything was Delicious and our waiter was fabulous.

Very welcoming staff and atmosphere, I had meat Lasagna, was tasty, and for desert I had Vanilla Gelato with shot of espresso and was divine, highly recommended!

The food is always great. The ambience is excellent. In most cases service is great; however, tonight it was less than acceptable. Our server, Amanda, needs some help. Her service is missing the elegance you would expect at this kind of restaurant. For starters, she needs to cut the foil off the wine so no wine touches the foil when being poured. Also, learn how to remove the cork Second, she needs to set the dish on the table. It's not the customers responsibility to grab the plate from you. Third, avoid reaching over your customer when you can. Lastly, don't make your customers help you clean off the table.

Update: Service has returned to excellent levels. Been here several times since the incident about which I wrote previously and service was stellar each time.
