I absolutely love this store! They treat everyone great no matter your running level/abilities. Kevin was absolutely awesome and patient in helping me. Everyone is always fantastic whenever I go in and I never feel pressured to purchase or uncomfortable. Love this store!

I do not give reviews lightly. This place fully deserves 5 stars for the amazing service we received from their employee yesterday. I am sorry I can’t recall her name, but it is the woman who is also a professor. Often times when I am in Frederick there is a very depressed atmosphere from the people there, not this shop. We obviously don’t fit the typical Frederick type, and sometimes are treated poorly because of it. Not here. They truly are accepting of people, they are just going to give everyone shoes to run without societal expectations. You don’t know how pleasant it is to not be asked why I have so many children, or about whether or not I use birth control, which is a normal occurrence for me at stores.

I brought in four sons. A normal store would see us coming and cringe. We were greeted with a smile and this lovely woman got right on figuring out our hard cases. My children really get set in their ways. They’ve been wearing their too small shoes a while now, determined not to like any shoes. Over the summer I’ve literally purchased 40 shoes from Zappos for them to try and all were returned because they didn’t like the fit or comfort, etc. I was so happy to get our children fitted by Charm City because they are the experts. I know jack squat about shoes. They spent an hour finding the right pairs!

They have a great return policy. You’ll get expert fittings. They are very dedicated. Money doesn’t grow on trees, especially for our big family, but every penny I spent here was worth it. Thank you!!!

One of the best running shoe stores in Frederick. Friendly, helpful, and patient. Got shoes here for my whole family. You can get footwear at some major label stores, but you won't get the personal service. Honestly, prices aren't that bad.

Really nice place. Ran by professionals. I went for the first time with my daughter for a girls on the run event. And it was packed. But the staff was very efficient. Very clean.

We've been going here for at least 15 years to buy our son and our daughter's high school track and cross country shoes. Back then it was "If the Shoe Fits." Always appreciated the treadmill test to analyze gait and stride and the perfect fit our kids enjoyed especially when running hard races and long distances. I recently went here in need of shoes to support my ankles and spine on long walks. After a quick "walk test" I had 3 styles to choose from, all were super comfy and hugged my feet very well. I went with the Brooks brand and am extremely happy with my purchase. My long walk yesterday didn't hurt my feet or ankles and my lower back felt better, more stable. If you walk or run, your shoes matter! And the staff here is always wonderful and they help you pick the best shoes suited for your individual needs. Knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. Best shoe buying experience ever! They have lots of other running and walking gear here as well. We will definitely be returning.

Came in looking for spikes and/or new gym shoes. I am a track runner (200m-400m) and was greeted by Kevin who was amazing throughout the whole process! I ran on their treadmill and learned a lot about the way I run, and my foot structure in 10 seconds. Kevin brought out numerous shoes that weren’t shown on stands within the store, with thoughts in mind of my foot shape and running patterns. I gave my recommendations and he brought out more. There were many suggestions that he gave which were super helpful since he runs too. I came out of the store with beautiful new running shoes that were perfect the minute I tried them on, new 1/4 inch spikes, and spike stabilizing shoe soles. I struggle with tendinitis along the outside of my ankles so I am beyond excited for how these new purchases will treat me. Kevin also gave us 15% off because of the upcoming knight striders discount.

Excellent customer service. They know sneakers, recovery slides, etc. and what works and what will not work for your specific need. Store is a nice size and very clean and well organized. Also, has a great selection and good pricing. The back room inventory is large to accommodate your size, width and color. Locally owned and community oriented. They are handicap accessible and have plenty of close-in free parking. The store is not just for runners but anyone who wears sneakers and wants a sneaker that will properly fit and feel good all day.

My husband bought a running belt on Amazon for the MCM. It arrived 2 days before race day and was sliced from a box cutter during shipment. The wonderful staff at Charm City held a belt for us to pick up on our way from PA to DC. 10/10 recommend! Their store was stocked with the best gear and the staff was beyond helpful. I wish we had a place like this where we live.

If you’re a runner or not, the staff here spend a great amount of time making sure you’re taken care of. You could get shoes from Amazon, but your feet can’t get the personal service they deserve unless you deal with pros.

I am a complete beginner when it comes to running and Ashley was incredibly helpful in evaluating my stride and selecting shoes that worked for me. She made me and my family feel welcome and did a great job answering all our questions. Thanks Ashley!

Wow. The customer service was phenomenal. Very patient and very polite both via phone and in person. I bought a pair of sneaks for myself for the first time about a week or so ago. Helene had me run on the treadmill to analyze my gait and run and suggested a pair of shoes. Expressed my concerns and we ended up with a different pair from the original ones. They felt extremely comfortable until I took them for an actual spin outside. The foot pain was unbearable. Kevin took my call regarding this and (even if he truly wasn’t) he was so eager and dedicated to me being satisfied in my purchase and comfortable during my run. Told me to come back and switch them out. Will definitely support and recommend in the future.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff who will take the time to get you into the perfect shoe that meets your needs. The whole process was so much better then other big chain stores who just try to get you in the most expensive shoe they can. As reluctant as I am about spending more then 25$ on walmart specials, I felt confident leaving the store that the shoes I bought were worth every penny. Ive never had a shoe fit so comfortably and perform so much above my expectations. Highly recommended.

It was my first time to the store. Kevin was awesome and provided excellent customer service! I was asked to run on the treadmill with no shoes so it will capture my foot positions when I ran. Then Kevin analyzed my steps and brought out several pairs of shoes for me to try on. I purchased a pair even though at the full price. I also got a pair of Asics socks and they were very comfortable. I highly recommend this store!

I love this place. The staff is incredible. They always take their time to ensure I get the best shoe for me. They really know their products, too. Seriously, they know the products and how they will affect your needs. Btw- I'm not a runner, but when I visit Charm City I never feel pressured or uncomfortable....I feel respected. It's one of those places that just feels right. Nice people, knowledgeable, and quality shoes.

I will be the first to admit that I am NOT a runner. I went to If The Shoe Fits at the recommendation of several friends. I explained to the staff the while if do not run I stand almost all day long on a concrete floor and have knee and back issues as a result. Even though I don't run I was not treated any with less respect. They annualized my foot, my gate, and structure. They then selected the best shoe for my application. I can say that this change in footwear dramatically improved my daily comfort. I have purchased the same shoe from this shop many times now. I had one issue with the sole of the shoe pealing away from the padding. I returned to their store and they instantly replaced the shoe with no hassle. I am a life long customer!
