Courtyard by Marriott Durham Near Duke University/Downtown

Janis, Kenya, and Spencer were all polite, engaging, and professional. Janis worked the desk like a champion. She was informative about the area and always had a smile! Kenya made one of the best Tater tot bowls! It was fresh and the eggs were perfect! Spencer at night was nice, and his conversation was great. Keep up the great work. You all are the A Team of Marriott!

We had a medical emergency at Duke University and they were so kind to help us with room accommodations. And for that, we will be forever grateful. Audrey, at the front desk, was great. The only issue we had was their lack of staff to clean rooms. We went 5 days without having any service and they just did not have people to clean the rooms. And when they did have a person, they did work all day and couldn't get to ours , and ours was always next. So please if you need a job or you know someone that does need a job and doesn't mind helping others, like cleaning rooms in this industry, call them, send them to these people, the Courtyard Marriott... they're great! Wonderful, caring staff. Thank you for everything. ❤

Amazing stay. Showers seemed a little odd but great water pressure and temperature make up for the design. Beds very comfortable and staff make the stay pleasant.

Room is very nice and comfortable. Upon arriving late in the evening the front desk associate Spencer made me feel right at home and was very very helpful. Great customer service.

We were there twice in 2 months. First stay very quite and relaxing. Second visit the pool was well used by other visitors, the young people were a little to loud coming ,and going to the pool area , but that’s to be expected when you could tell they were having a good time. I have several specialists in the area , and I would still return to this hotel .Maybe just a little sign requesting less noise coming, and going to swimming pool. That would be nice. 😘

Staff is very pleasant to speak to but they are short handed. Property needs some upgrades. TV in the room was fairly new but the system is slow and image quality was bad on most channels. Wi-Fi is spotty. Coil whine from the fridge in my room was so loud one night that it woke me up. Also road noise is an issue

I stay in a lot of hotels and never leave reviews but have to say Spencer was one of the best hotel employees I’ve ever met, if not the best. He was extremely welcoming and will go above and beyond to make sure you have a good stay. Marriott is lucky to have him.

Terrific, terrific friendly staff made us feel very welcome. I'd made a mess of the reservation, and needed to add a night after all that, but they never skipped a beat. Great location; was in town for an operation at Duke Regional Hospital and could use back streets to get to and from quickly and easily so as to avoid Durham's traffic. We'll be back.

I would stay here again. The hotel is a little older, but still very nice. The only place that it really showed was the shower - see pics. Both staff members that I dealt with were extremely nice, they understood customer service and how to make a customer feel valued. I would give them 10 stars for Service if I could. Location is right next to the Interstate, with easy access on and off. A BP gas station right next door.

This is a strange review, as I haven't stayed here yet...
I am a Bonvoy member, and always book online...
I had canceled and rebooked recently, so was charged for
a night I hadn't used. The manager personally called to let
me know he corrected it, and apologized profusely for any
inconvenience on my end. THIS is why I will always be a Bonvoy
member.... great accomodations and customer service second to none!!!

We stayed here for three nights out of the blue when visiting friends who came down with the flu. Wonderful little hotel! Everything very clean, seemed relatively newly renovated, nice room design, queen bed with modern curved sofa that pulled out, super shower/water pressure, even nicer than usual artwork that someone took time to choose. The staff was extremely friendly, the linens better than some fancy hotels we’ve been in. Decent little bistro w Starbucks coffee downstairs and walking distance to several reasonable restaurants (we liked Pomodoro). Highly recommended and not expensive.

This was a very nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay. It’s in a great location right next to the highway and close to amenities like restaurants and a gas station. The staff was very friendly and honest about the rates (book online for a better rate vs. in person). The room was very clean and maintained. Nice to have a cafe on the main floor. The fitness room was also clean and had the basics to get in a good workout.

Nice environment! Relaxed and inviting atmosphere in the lobby and the courtyard. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, yet very professional. They honored my husband's Veteran status with a huge discount as well as an additional discount for his mother being treated at Duke University Hospital. Our future visits will definitely be with them!

I rented meeting space here and stayed overnight. The meeting space was set up exactly as I asked, and the staff were extremely helpful throughout the whole time here. My room was also very clean and well decorated. Also, the bath towels were amazingly soft, which was a nice bonus. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I need to rent meeting space in Durham.

My wife and I have to travel to Durham North Carolina each week, and this courtyard has always been a great place to stay for us. Marco the general manager hires excellent people, they are all friendly and no their jobs well. I've never had a problem checking in, checking out, or asking for anything that I need. We will be continuing to stay here in the future.

This place was amazing! The staff was so friendly and helpful! They recommended places for me to eat that were phenomenal! Every staff member had a smile on their face and were so accommodating. I was told they are about to renovate their lobby (which was already very nice and clean!) And I cant wait to see the new look! I highly recommend staying here. The rooms were clean and the food was great! I wont ever stay any place else in Durham.

Best place to stay as the area is very competitive price wise. Best customer service. I wish free breakfast for all customers. The pool was closed as it was outdoor and it was winter. Rooms are very spacious, clean with no smell. Restrooms are also very clean with in the room and corridors. I would love to stay here if visited the area again.

I was disappointed for a courtyard. They send me to a room that was dirty bed not made up. Bathroom not clean. The lady at the front desk didn't say she was sorry. I check in around 6:00 or 7:00 pm February 3rd .my husband there for blockage at the VA hospital in Durham I have to stay in a hotel near the hospital. Will not stay there again or tell anyone to stay there
