Family Fare Convenience Store

Surrounded by homeless people, substantial upcharge on gas.

I have been shopping at Family Fares all around Durham and NC. I have always been impressed with personal customer service and clean bathrooms. But the Broad St location is the worst convenience store experience I have ever had. I went in to buy a fountain soda and cigarettes. I filled my drink and noticed there was a line. So I left my drink on the counter and went to the restroom. It was the nastiest bathroom I've seen in years. I noticed the sign about free drink. I could care less about 89 cent drink. I was trying to be a good customer and let them know about bathroom. Most places appreciate when you let them know about paper towels etc. Well not this place. When I went to check out I asked for free drink and noted bathroom to Pam. She looked at me like I was a liar and had Nikita go to check it out. Nikita came out and said it was clean, basically calling me a liar. I asked Pam to take a look and she sent Nikita again. I posted out the filthy toilet hairs in sink, floor not swept in days. She shrugged her shoulders and came back out saying there was no problem. Pam refused to look for herself. I said are you calling me a liar? And she ignored me. I went out to my car and noticed Pam standing outside smoking a cigarette. Too busy to check bathroom but rime to smoke??. So I went back into bathroom and took the following pictures judge for yourself.
