Update: Recently, I was involved in a car accident and visited the store. Ian was incredibly kind, explaining bike terminology in an easily understandable way. He skillfully patched up my bike at a great price. I’m extremely impressed by their professionalism and exceptional customer service.

Big shoutout to this shop. I was visiting town from Chatt and had issues with my new bike rack. These guys went above and beyond to get me fixed up and riding again. Definitely 5+ star customer service.

I'm down visiting Ashville from Louisville, Kentucky for a week,. My wife's rear brake on her Schwinn alloy is locked up, cable froze. Even though they were about 10 days out, the service manager said we'll fix it, so you can enjoy your visit to our city... 24 hrs later, fixed for a fair price. Great store and shop.

My friend and I were in Asheville for an extended weekend, and visited to rent some bikes for the day. It was a great experience, the folks here had some great suggestions for where to go and they made renting a super easy experience. Bikes and helmets and a lock let us bike all over Asheville for the day, taking in the cool city. Coming from Boston, I was extremely impressed with the bike infrastructure and really enjoyed the bike lane along the river. Totally recommend renting through these folks (though go earlier in the day than we did for more bike options! 😆)

Amazing store, rent a bike, and service. I was in Asheville Bicycle Company in August 2019 and took in rent perfect AM/Marathon/Trail Bike Giant Anthem Advanced. It was new bike from test park Giant. Interesting bike, combination speed and grip, 110mm travel rear suspension and 130mm fork was good for NC trails. Friendly staff in store, support and best price for rent bike in Asheville and Black Mountain city's area. Thanks for your work guys!

Arlo is the best! I needed to outfit my Kona for touring. Arlo is such a good listener! He heard what I wanted and completely solved my problems. The result is a set up I’m excited about and can’t wait to take my Kona on a long journey! Thank you Arlo!

Excellent shop. They were able to take my electric bike (for repair and maintenance of non-electric components). They had great customer service, friendly, personable, flexible. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They gave me a clear estimate of what work needed to be done with a very reasonable quote. Looking forward to seeing the quality of their work, I expect it will be excellent as well.

My only regret is that I was too dense to understand the employee's excellent sense of humor. I didn't get their joke until after I left🤣

Oh also I would say this shop is LGBT - women friendly as well. They did not misgender me and had employees of multiple genders. Always nice to see :)

Over the past 10 years I've purchased two different bikes from the shop - my first MTB (Giant Talon) and more recently a commuter/gravel by Kona (Dr. Dew). All the people I've dealt with have been knowledgeable and friendly. Turnaround time on service is as promised or faster. They have a solid service department that answers all my questions in a patient manner. Lots of good bike accessories as well - my favorite tool bag by Topeak as well as at least 3 different racks I've bought. Currently thinking about my next new purchase from them!

These guys are awesome. I have not bought a bicycle from them as I don't currently need one BUT their staff is amazing. I have bought gear there as needed over the last three years. My latest two experiences have been related to me needing to ship a vintage bike I own. Having little experience with such myself, I got some seriously amazing help from them. It's always a pleasure to go to this shop!

Went to Asheville for a few days of riding, wore out both sets of brake pads and needed replacements. The shop guys had the pads I needed in stock and some great advice on where to go ride the next day. Took the pads back to install them and replaced one set with ease. The second set was giving me trouble because of the caliper not working correctly and then I let all of the fluid out in an attempt to fix....my mistake. Called the shop the next day to ask if they would be able to take a look at it and thankfully they said yes. They had my bike fixed in less than an hour and I was ready to ride. Fair pricing and nice employees! Great Selection! Thanks Asheville Bicycle Company!

Came in pre-ride because I couldn't get my new tubeless tire to seat. The tech (Sam) hooked it to the compressor and quickly figured out it was more than a stubborn tire. Turns out the tape had blown out on my rim. Within 20 minutes, Sam had it re-taped, sealed, and ready to go. He also did a quick derailleur check while it was up on the stand. Sure, it's a pretty straight-forward procedure if you know what you're doing, but they got me in quickly and out the door in time to ensure I did leave my buddies hanging. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my bike in for a full tune the next time it's due. These guys are pros!

I find this bike shop to be the best all-around in Asheville. They are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and I have always left the shop feeling better than when I went in. My bike was better, the costs were very reasonable, and they checked out and quickly fixed other small problem areas with my bike for free. Just this afternoon Camin stopped what he was doing and fixed my brakes in about 10 minutes. Much appreciated. Highly recommend them.

I am just getting into mountain biking and a super super beginner, but wanted something I could learn and grow into over time without having to purchase a new bike every couple of years, and I thought I might as well go all in and get a full suspension mountain bike. I've been looking at reviews online of different bikes and brands and finally thought why not go to a bike shop and ask the pros. While on vacation in Asheville, I stopped in at Asheville Bicycle Company and they spent a really long time with me getting to know me, what type of riding I wanted to do, my budget, experience level, etc., etc., and recommended the Giant Trance 3. I could not be more happy! I've only ridden it for a few hours so far, but absolutely LOVE the thing. The quality, craftsmanship, fit, everything is great! Though I'm not a pro I'm confident Sam and Cayman (spelling?) could help you whether you're a beginner like me moving from the old-school low cost, big box store V-brake style bike to your first high quality bike, or if you've ridden for years. These guys really try to account for everything! Through the entire process I never felt pressured to buy anything and if I had questions they made sure my concerns were addressed.

Favorite bike shop in town. Straight shooters that know there stuff. I find them reasonably priced. Happy customer.

This place is the best bike shop around! Their staff goes above and beyond to help you in anyway possible. I have used this shop for rentals, bike purchases, bike assembly, tune ups, advice/recommendations, etc. Yesterday, the bike staff (Sam and another guy) spent over an hour with me discussing my current mountain bike, my experiences mountain biking, and other mountain bike possibilities. They even altered the settings on my bike and let me try out different tire sizes just to see if they could make my bike a little more comfortable for me. I am just blown away by how friendly and helpful the staff always is! Thank you Asheville Bicycle Company for being the best all around bike shop!

One of the techs helped me find a great bike at a reasonable price - a bike in the lower range of Giant brand mountain bikes. We talked a bit and then he showed me a better Giant bike for my needs that was less money. No upsells, no BS. These guys want to get you on a good bike at the price closest to your budget.

The best bike shop I’ve ever been to in my life. What a great vibe from everyone. I’m from Wilmington and wanted to do a 2 day block in Asheville. My bike really needed some work that was out of my reach. I called 7 bike shops and most said they were 2-6 weeks backed up (what the hell?!?). I called here and they said no promises, but they’ll look at it. At least I was in the door. Chad worked MAGIC. Amazing mechanic, great conversation, and he led me to some great climbs. The price for service was amazing. I will only go here when I come to Asheville. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could...
