The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They even stayed with and comforted our little pup during a storm when she had to stay overnight after a surgery. The whole crew there is so kind and supportive, and they provide top notch care for our furry family members.

If your pet is prone to or having any eye issues at all, these are the experts that can preserve and prolong your pet's precious eyesight. They took amazing care of my dog, Seven. They were compassionate and caring while also being effective and professional. Thank you.

This place excels in everyway! You will receive timely service from experts with superb customer service skills. My dog suddenly went blind and STVO was able to schedule us in less than one week. Austin, where I live, had a 2 month+ waiting list. Dr. Fritz provided excellent care and never pressured me to choose invasive or costly procedures. Unfortunately, my dog did need surgery but it was affordable (2x less than what a surgeon quoted me in Austin) and the care was outstanding. Although I hate to drive all the way from Austin, I'd happily make the trip if needed, knowing I will always receive high quality care here!

I am the first to admit that my little chihuahua is not a very nice dog. He is definitely a challenge and even as a veterinarian my own staff won't touch him with out a muzzle. The staff at STVO have always been good with him. They are always sweet and gentle and actually seem happy to see him. Dr G is awesome and my husband and I are so grateful to him for taking such good care of Nibbler.

This clinic is wonderful. All of the staff are caring and patient. Someone calls to check on my dog after his treatments. Pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommend if your baby has cancer.

I requested a referral to an eye specialist from my primary veterinarian for my cat after multiple visits for eye ulcers and not finding a cause. We got an appointment in with South Texas Veterinary Ophthalmology with Dr. Darden. Our initial visit was great. Dr. Darden is very well spoken and knowledgeable and was able to talk to me and explain everything in a manner that was easy to understand. He showed me the ulcer under the black light and allowed me to take a photo. We started an aggressive treatment plan and my cat is doing great now! Everyone on staff that I encountered was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend STVO for your pet's eye needs.

She made my Max feel so welcomed, safe & cared for. Cannot say enough good things about this office! Such caring and wonderful people. Dr. Fritz is a great doctor and our little cat owes her vision to his great care. Everyone in the office is so nice. Great place!

5 ⭐ I would recommend STVO to anyone!
I went through 3 different places for the mass on Naomi’s Eye. 2 were ophthalmologists. The mass ended up being squamous cell carcinoma and i had a decision to make that was not easy.
It was important to me that the place i took Naomi to was very well put together. I wanted great communication from the front to the back and this clinic has that. I needed to feel heard and i needed to feel like they cared and i felt that here. I didn’t feel rushed through the visit. The flow here is great. I also needed her surgery to be done quick because her tumor was growing fast and they were able to get her surgery done that week. Plus the cost was almost half the price i was quoted in Austin but i felt the care was better.
All said and done i felt like Naomi was treated like i would expect someone to treat my baby, i didn’t feel like they saw her as just another dog walking through those doors.
Naomi had H plasty reconstructive surgery and is healing very well.

Came in as an emergency because of a cat scratch to my dogs eye. They were more than amazing helping us cope and understand what this meant, how to move forward, and explaining what the most realistic and beneficial options would be. They didn’t push surgery or any costly procedure to try and save his eye as it wasn’t a good chance of healing no matter what they did but they gave us the option anyway on how to proceed which was such an amazing experience for us in such a dark moment. They really helped us and our boy jack. He’s 3-4 weeks post op and is just as happy as ever, and just as cute as ever!!

Dr. Greller is so knowledgeable and patient with our Boston and he has done an excellent job helping us to keep her vision as intact as possible despite a congenital cornea disease. All the staff are so welcoming, caring, and understanding. We appreciate everything they do to make our visits comfortable and stress free.

Staff and Drs are wonderful!!! Corpus doesn't have an Opthmologist, so I have to drive to SA for my dogs eye care. I don't mind it at all, when the office has informative Drs and wonderful staff.

I was referred here by my pups vet at Banfield clinic. I was so happy to find an eye specialist for pups. This clinic is far from where I live and traffic was so bad, several accidents on the way, several road closures and I was practically in tears trying to get there. Soon as I got off the highway (my Google maps told me it found a better route) and was at a red light I called in and told the receptionist that I was running late. Do I continue or reschedule? They waited for me 🥺 when I got there I didn't have to wait long. The staff was so nice the doctor was great and My pup had her 1st eye exam. They checked for everything, eye pressure, tear production etc. Gentle with my pup and non judgmental with me. No bad comments. Dr was thorough and explained everything. Everything! They will be highly recommended by me to anyone who needs them.

These people are very caring and compassionate. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. They didn't try to get me to try an expensive treatment for my dogs cancer that wouldnt have helped. They were straight up front with me about everything and gave me all the options and plenty of time to decide what i wanted to do.

Out of the blue, we noticed Chiro’s eye was covered with a white cloudy lens. We went to our vet the next day and was informed that Chiro may be blind. That really scared me and I felt so worried for Chiro. When we saw Dr. Darden, I was so relieved. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was. Chiro wasn’t dying and this was normal for his age, he’s 13.5 yrs old.
After we were given options, we felt that eye removal was the best option. Although I felt nervous not knowing Dr. Darden, I put my trust in him and in God. Chiro’s surgery went well and his post-op is complete. I can’t thank Dr. Darden enough for the amazing job he’s done with Chiro.
I highly recommend his services and trust that Dr. Darden will always walk you through these difficult moments with your loved one. Also, the ladies at the front desk make each visit pleasant with their kind demeanor.

Got not so great news about my baby's condition but the staff here were all super friendly, patient, considerate - all around made me feel like my little man was getting the best care and checking all boxes before providing me with answers. From curbside to doc via phone, I knew they were worth it. Provided answers and allowed for questions. Wonderful experience despite the news 💙 my Lumi is doing amazing as well, definitely adjusted way before his momma did!
