We had a real good time with the exercise equipment at the end of the trail in the beginning it was chilly but once the sun came out it warmed up nicely
Nice walking trail

Great little trail but beware of coral snakes. Red and yellow, kill a fellow. Red and black, friend of Jack. This one was very dangerous.

I took the trail that passes an exercise area, a playground full of young families and some interpretive boards. Some nice natural areas line the trail. It was quiet and restful. Today no bikes whizzing by! I stopped by the 2nd trail, more rugged, on the other side of Stone Oak Parkway. I plan to do that when the temps drop.

This is of my favorite parks to visit. Within just few minutes of walking you whisked away from hustle and bustle sounds of the street and cars to being emersed in to nature. The trails wind playfully though the park and present numerous photo opportunities. It is very common to come across wildlife, such as deer, squirrels, and other animals. Much of the trails are shielded from the sun by mature trees, which makes visiting the part enjoyable even during the hotter months. The walking paths are quite wide and offer room for park-goers to easily pass one another. The portion of the park which crosses Stone Oak Parkway is more for the off-road path goers with more undeveloped trails where you are more likely to see wildlife, and can expect less trees and more brush and flatland elevation. I highly suggest visiting the park when in the neighborhood. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful park. It's a great place to run and do some exercises. The exercise equipment is located in the beginning of the park and they're very clean and well taken care of. There are also two more exercise equipment located a long the trail with lots of benches to rest.

Clean trail for novice hikers. If you're seeking an outdoor walk this is the place to go. There is always someone walking their dog or a family with kids at this park. I have walked it alone, it can seem a little creepy as you begin to walk deeper into the trail and through the massive Texas shrubs, but suddenly a jogger will pass you by and you realize you're not alone. The path is well kept and maintained with the exception of occasionally a doggie present left smack in the middle because the owner failed to be respectful and pick-up after their pet. So keep your eyes open, the last thing you want to do is walk the entire trail smelling of dung.

Lastly, if you have small children I tried bringing a stroller and a wagon and neither were able to make it passed the unpaved trail portion. Unless you have a stroller with those massive wheels, steer away on this one unless little junior can walk it or you're willing to carry him. Enjoy!

Update: Apparently he heavy rains have affected this park immensely so much so that it literally was impossible to walk it without drowning! No signs were up, this park should have been closed for safety reasons. The City of San Antonio Office of Risk Management should be working with Parks to ensure that unsafe conditions such as this are cordoned off from public use until the hazard has been eliminated.

Great park / walking trails for the whole family! We live in the Stone Oak area and enjoy all of the trees to keep the trails cool during summer. The exercise machines are good and the water fountain is for humans and dogs.

Really nice park…had a play area for kids, 1/4 mile markers, and semi paved trails.

Nice tucked away park. Went for the playground which was in pristine condition. One of the best playgrounds I have seen in a while, there was not one piece of trash on the ground. The were no signs of wear and tear on the play equipment, the were even stickers with suggested ages for equipment. There is a sun shade covering the playground and benches nearby to keep a watchful eye on your children. My only qualm was the rubber mulch, which I liked better than wood chips, stained the white bottoms of shoes, not a big deal to me. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Clean trail although their may be spots of poop (dog, deer, etc) along the path. Very scenic and serene. Path is great with various elevations and terrain of path.

Always a great park to run at. Just keep an eye out for snakes in the spring and summer. I've taken some photos there as well. Overall if you want a nice walk or run this is a great place to go.

Great park! There is a portable restroom on the lower side of Stone Oak, my only request would be to put nice restrooms at the entrance like at Hardberger park. Tons of birds here, including Red-Souldered Hawks, American Kestrels and Cedar Waxwings. Beautiful view.

Super nice hiking trails and lovely playgrounds. This park is split into two sections -- one on either side of Stone Oak Parkway. One side has pretty extensive hiking trails and some cool caves. The other side has a shorter hiking circuit and a couple of well-maintained playgrounds. The main trails are well marked and pretty easy hiking. For the more adventurous, there are numerous small trails that branch off.

Good trail system for walking/running. Partly paved, mostly bumpy/pot holes. The trail north of the street has a couple cave entrances visible with some information. The south side of the street has a covered playground, small but great for younger kids. There is also an exercise equipment area, an amphitheatre, and the trail goes for about a mile to another much larger playground, and a school.
