Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery

Visited for brunch Sunday morning. One of the few places that will take reservations. Ordered the breakfast tots and steak and eggs. Steak was supposed to be medium but came out well done. They quickly fixed it and then it was perfect. My favorite was definitely those breakfast tots. I would go back just for that.

Enjoyed lunch on Friday here. They weren't too busy, the service was good, and I really enjoyed the salmon salad. There is construction outside, putting in large concrete pipes under the parking lot, but it is still easy to get in and find parking space. They have a large outdoor patio with full service, which is great for the fall weather.

Went for Sunday brunch . They do have some vegetarian options too. The bread used is good and that is something unique about this place. Tried all veggie sandwich with side of fries. Portion size of fries too was good. Brewed coffee and Mexican hot chocolate. Service by staff is good . Would say this is a upscale breakfast place . Overall a good brunch experience.

So the food was excellent, we didn’t realize they were about to close, so we felt a little rushed! The restaurant could have been cleaner. But I will visit again.

We were able to reserve a table on Google maps, which was great. Very friendly staff. Quick service. Food was great we ordered the Farmhouse Scramble and the Breakfast Tacos.

November 7, 2023 Update

This review focuses on my favorite dessert, not the Plano Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery as a whole. Chocolate cream pie is fantastic. Whipped ream is best quality as is the chocolate filing. Better now than before. This is a wonderful treat whether you're a fan of this dessert or trying it for the first time.

Called ahead with an order today. Disappointed that the order wasn't ready. It wasn't even started. The employees were just standing around. Furthermore, the team member we were hoping to check my wife out didn't know how to do it, she confessed.That's obviously poor service. Okay, finding good workers is still difficult, so we consumers have to cut businesses some slack. But for an upscale restaurant like Bread Winners, we were expecting more.

At least the coffee and chocolate cream pie were both flavorful, so we'll be back. And by then, we hope the manager can raise the bar on service for takeouts.

the complimentary bread was amazing. it was moist and flavorful!

croque madame was filling, flavorful, and the bread was baked to perfection.

bw benedict was a simple yet delicious benedict. the hollandaise was perfect. not too thick, and full of flavor.

monterrey enchiladas were so yummy and a great portion size!

fresh strawberries & cream waffle was just delicious. light and fluffy on the instead while a lil crispy on the outside layers. the strawberries and whipped cream were so fresh and delicious.

definitely recommend and will be returning anytime i visit the plano/dallas area.

would give 4.5/5 due to the service being a little disappointing. (long wait times for drinks, waiter not checking in, and drink being made with substitute ingredient and not notifying us.)

I literally loved my visit here! & let me tell you why. I was on a quest for shrimp and grits and while they don’t have it on the menu as a meal. My sweet waitress Ms. Dana made sure myself and my family had everything and more than we came for this day. The grits are by far the best I’ve had ever. Katie was so pleasant and they just made our day! I will be back as many times as I possibly can. I also had French toast, which was amazing. The portions are very big so prepare to eat well. Ask for Ms. Dana and tell her Mrs. & Mr. Vigilance sent you!

Came here the other day for a nice brunch with my sister-in-law plus + their friends before we went dress shopping for her wedding dress. The service here is incredible even with how busy they were. And the food? OH MY GOSH IT'S AMAZING!!!! I was pleased to find out that their portions are perfectly reasonable (and fill you up). And might I add, they served me the most amazing cheese grits I've ever had in my life~ 😍
So while this a bit pricier than most, this restaurant is not a place you want to skip over when you're in Texas.

P.S. The raspberry sorbet mimosa is a must if you want to spice up your brunch.

Good food. Good service. We’ll make this our breakfast spot for Christmas… we ordered the Basic Breakfast w/apple sausage & pigs in a blanket. And a pineapple upside down drink which is not shown but delicious 😋

This was a staple of mine when I lived in Uptown. So happy they have one up here now that I’ve moved. Love this place for brunch! The serving sizes are amazing. If you’re hungry, this is your spot

We love this place! This is our go to place. One of my favorites is the avocado toast! Excellent! We always ask for Dana's section.....she is our girl! Marvin, one of the cooks is the best!! Also, Elsa makes the most fantastic cakes!! They're beautiful and taste amazing!! Love the chocolate cake and the strawberries and cream cake! The entire staff is friendly and helpful and the food is excellent.

Stopped in for a late breakfast this past weekend, and they did not disappoint. We were seated pretty quickly for a Sunday, and the hostess and waiter were very kind. The zucchini and banana bread given as a free appetizer were moist and delicious. I had the migas plate, and my fiancée had the chicken an waffles and we both cleaned our plates!

My tuna melt on heavily seeded multigrain toast was exemplary. The accompanying pasta salad was much too creamy for my taste, but my wife liked it. She enjoyed very much her vegetarian flatbread.
If we hadn't been in a hurry I might have asked how the antique book press fit into the restaurant's decor.

This place was fantastic! Customer service was outstanding! Attention to detail was outstanding. One of our group had a few problems and they fixed it above and beyond! Pleasantly surprised. I had the chicken and waffles which were great!

Second time to eat at a Breadwinners but two different locations, one meal was brunch and the other Valentine's Day dinner, both were amazing meals. This place is incredible. The desserts are phenomenally made by in house pastry chefs.My husband's steak was perfectly cooked, the meatloaf was so flavorful with the semi glaze and the green chili mac and cheese was the best I've personally ever had. The Boston cream pie was just right. Thanks for another wonderful meal!

First time visit today! Our waitress was very sweet and seemed to also be working the host stand along with helping us. She still kept our drinks filled and checked on us often! The food was so good! I'm in love 😍

Food: I had the steak with grits...tasty indeed! The Brioche French Toast was good. We had the Rosé and Raspberry sorbet, the Upside Down Pineapple. and the traditional Mimosas. I liked the frozen Pineapple the most.
Atmosphere: Seemed busy, was a 20 min wait for us 2 around 12pm Saturday. Most were semi-dressed up, the rest were extremely casual. Many kids and families type of environment.

Everything was delicious and Dylan was great! The atmosphere was very beautiful and pleasant. We sat outside because the weather was nice. I will be returning! The complimentary bread is to die for they sell it by the loaf and it is so worth it

The food and service was amazing. Their breads are so delicious, you can't have a piece without wanting to buy a loaf to bring home. And the breakfast, scrumptious! The Migas were incredible, after taking the first bite, I was in heaven. It had just the right heat and perfectly seasoned. And the potatoes are crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle. So glad I decided to stop and try it.
