Old Montgomery Steakhouse

Fabulous bacon cheeseburger. Thick burger and cooked perfectly. The flan was a pleasant surprise and the blackberry cobbler was delicious. We also had the chicken fried steak and baked potato. Everything was delicious. We has great service-Ashley was our waitress. She answered all of our questions and made some excellent recommendations. She recommended the onion rings and they were hand battered and really good. The condiments were on the table and I love that! Will come back!

Large chicken fried steak is enough for three people with the two sides! And do not leave there without trying the bang bang shrimp, you won't regret it.

Food was as good as ever. Service was a little lacking this time. My service was very unpersonable and acted as though she would ha e rather not been there.

Breakfast was wonderful, the biggest omelet I have ever had! Big Ole biscuits that are great. Wait staff were very good and nice.

First time here. Went here based on reviews and recommendations and we were very impressed.
Busy but didn't feel crowded.

Great lunch specials. We go on Wednesday for the Shrimp 🍤 dinner. You get 15 fried shrimp and 1 side for $10. Good deal.

This place is simply amazing, friendly and great service and chicken fried chicken, mushrooms are simply amazing very tasty. Best food in Montgomery parking is limited.

Unless you love John Wayne, there's no atmosphere here. Great staff, amazing prices. Been going here since 2000. Our go to place for breakfast

Food was amazing and service was great. Ordered the Tuesday Special which was 6 large shrimp and 2 sides. Also 1/2 order of fried pickles. And the spicy chicken sandwich. The shrimp were huge and the chicken patty was sticking out 3" on each side. Everything came out hot and tasty and the portion sizes were good, especially for the price. We will definitely eat there every time we're in that area. Just too bad they're not open for dinner.

Where to start? Everything was delicious. Twenty plus years of business, a direct result of old school homestyle culinary badassery.

If you are looking for "health concious", you might be able to pull it off with a few "wise" choices on the menu. But, the real joy here rests in hand breaded, deep fried, gravy smothered goodness.

Chicken fried steak? Yes. Pork cutlet? Yes. Our party enjoyed both, with sides of green beans, mashed potatoes and homemade cornbread/bread. And, sweet Jesus, it was crazy good.

Thinking ahead, I asked for a "go" box and packed half of everything up before starting on my plate. Good damn thing, or I would have wound up with no room for the peach cobbler...and that would have been an absolute disservice to myself. It was wonderful!

Finding this unassuming, privately owned, non-corporate restaurant in the day of "themed and formulaic" eateries that focus on throughput, turning tables at prescribed rates of speed and driving PPAs as high as possible with the suggestive sell...well, it was a treat. All the John Wayne paraphernalia didn't hurt either.

"Supper the way it used to be" is "What's for dinner" at the Old Mongomery Steakhouse. And, it's GOOD.

Awesome breakfast worth the drive best service!!

It's been a while since we last had eaten here. I had the beef tips and rice. The gravy had had onion flavor but not overwhelming, and the beef I could cut it with my fork. Very good. We will be back soon.

The food was great and the service was top notch. Considering we went to brunch on a Saturday and they were busy we still got good service and hot food. Atmosphere was of old time cafe so you felt at home. Will definitely be going back again.

Really nice country Cafe. We ate here for breakfast. The staff was excellent, the coffee and food delicious, and the atmosphere wonderful. We will return.

Restaurant recently sold, but food is just as good as before. Good breakfast and great chicken fried steak. New owner has updated the tables and chairs. Good service.

Great food as always. Spicy chicken sandwich with fries, shrimp and fish with fries and onion rings, soup and half sandwich.

Just moved to town first time there this place was awesome for breakfast!! Have not tried their dinner.
