I've been meaning to post this review for quite sometime now, but I needed some time to process the difficult moments that Dr. Smallwood and her team helped me through. Even after more than a year, writing this isn't easy for me.

My pup (Aurora) was the center of my universe in ways I can't even begin to describe. So I always looked for the very best care for her no matter how small or big the issue was. This was especially important when she was suddenly diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer only three years after she came into my life. Absolutely devastating!

Although I live in Houston, Dr. Smallwood helped me over the phone and messaging to guide me through the process of helping my best friend be as comfortable as possible in her final moments with me. Even when Dr. Smallwood was on vacation with her family, she took the time to answer my questions. She went to lengths to help me far beyond what local vets were willing to. Best of all, there was a strong emphasis on natural medicine that was far more effective than the pharmaceutical methods that often caused side undesirable side effects. Dr. Smallwood took time to explain the science behind all of her recommendations, and the results were immediately apparent! The moment I started implementing her methods, Aurora snapped back to nearly her normal energetic self. Those few weeks of seeing her happy and energetic before I had to let her go was so priceless!

As a human health and performance specialist myself, it was a breath of fresh air to work with a DVM who took a truly scientific and natural approach to healthcare. And do so in a truly caring manner, rather than the transactional approach I often felt from other providers. Their care didn't stop at the end of her life. I received a postcard about a month later notifying me Dr Smallwood had made a donation to an environment conservatory to have a tree planted in Aurora's memory... absolutely above an beyond!!

Although there was nothing I could do to save my best friend, I know her life was extended and made the most comfortable it could be and it made the loss more bearable because of Dr. Smallwood and her team. I am forever grateful!

Although they were booked out far in advance, they called me as soon as they had a cancellation. I know a bit about Chinese medicine, so the suggested regimen seemed right for me and my senior pup. It's only been a day and a half on her new supplements vs. medication, but I feel very optimistic about the reviews I have seen on the recommended replacements. I'm looking forward to seeing her improvement and visiting with them for her checkup.

Best place for your dog to receive rehab from injury or surgery. They’ve been treating my French Bulldog for spinal issues, she has actually improved over the past year. I was just hoping for her to hold her own and she has actually improved and is walking better and is her happy self.

Incredible place to take your pet, truly caring, Dr Smallwood was recommended to me by another vet and I'm very grateful for it... My English bulldog has a couple of disk herniations and their holistic approach to treatment with cold laser, chiropractor, Chinese medicine, and acupuncture is like no one else. Super friendly, I would take my dog anywhere else.

We have been clients of Dr. Smallwood for years. She has been helping our little wrecking ball of Bull Terrier I’m top form. Bumpy absolutely love her and her staff. I cannot say enough great things about her treatment and staff. A very clean and professional clinic. If your pet is having mobility issue, I very highly recommend to go see them.

The staff makes it a point to make you feel welcome. Your fur baby is there priority, and they take the upmost care in all of their procedures. The Doctor is extremely knowledgeable and understanding when creating treatment plans for your pet.

Integrative Veterinary Wellness, Dr. Smallwood and her staff, are AMAZING! We brought Nash and Stryker here and in both cases the expert care from Dr. Smallwood allowed for our family to spend additional quality time with our beloved dogs. Nash, with advanced Cushing's Disease and Kidney issues, and Stryker, with severe arthritis and neurological disorders. My advice, get Dr. Smallwood and her staff involved earlier in your pet's life. They work great with your primary care and specialty veterinarians to achieve optimal quality of life and wellness. Dr. Smallwood and her team have provided excellent care and rehab support for our elderly dog, Bear. Bear has arthritis in his spine and back legs. He receives cold laser therapy, water therapy and acupuncture. He is also on supplements recommended by Dr. Smallwood, tested and identified food allergies so we are changing his diet. He has improved significantly. Initially he could not get up and down without a struggle and could only walk a 1/4 mile. He now has more energy, is moving around much better and is walking 2 miles. Our 15 yr old pup has a new lease on life thanks to the rehab and care he has received. They are the BEST!

I have been taking my Italian greyhound here for therapy on his back. The doctor is very involved in every step of his care and has been so responsive to my questions. She has gone above and beyond to call after hours to check on him after I sent lab reports from his vet when he wasn’t feeling well to make sure we could address his additional needs (if any) with a holistic approach. She is very professional, caring, attentive and knowledgeable. The staff is also 5 star worthy, very friendly and have made us feel so welcome abs cared for! I highly recommend this place.

Dr. Smallwood is amazing and I am very blessed to be a client of hers! She has been involved in the care of my dogs for several years and has provided a variety of services such as assisting with rehabilitation after injuries, dealing with chronic conditions and geriatric care. Her lovely new facility allows her to provide even more options to keep my dogs healthy and happy. Dr. Smallwood is interested in the total picture - she nicely combines eastern and western medicine and works alongside with your veterinary support team to ensure the very best care for your pet.

Dr. Smallwood is caring and compassionate. Her gentle demeanor immediately puts both pets and owners at ease. The acupuncture treatments helped our older labs enjoy a more active life and she was a real comfort as we dealt with the loss of one due to cancer. Her new facility will allow her to do even more. I can recommend her highly and without hesitation!

I have been taking all of my dogs to Dr. Smallwood for many years and for many reasons...arthritis issues, agility injuries, Senior dog issues, and general physical health maintenance. No matter what the issue, she always has an individual plan of treatment and it is remarkable to see the positive results in my pets. The entire staff there is equally trained in assisting with various treatments, whether it be the treadmill or laser or shockwave, etc. Each of my dogs has different 'special needs' and I feel 100% confident they are being handled with that in mind. It also gives me great peace of mind in knowing my dogs are getting the best care possible with Dr. Smallwood and the staff at IVW.

We have taken our dog here for over a year for rehab, acupuncture, and laser therapy for IVDD. Dr. Smallwood, Dr. Leska, and ALL the assistants and staff are so kind to our dog and to us, and we are very grateful for their patience and understanding in helping us figure out how best to care for our dog. Having a dog who is paralyzed can be very difficult at times, but it is so nice to know we can trust everyone at Integrative Veterinary Wellness with his treatment and care. Dr. Smallwood has been wonderful with all of my dachshunds. Whether it was just a chiropractic "tune up" for my field champions or total rehabilitation for a couple with pretty severe back/neck issues, Dr Smallwood has been excellent! She and her staff are very knowledgeable and caring.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Smallwood and the amazing team at Integrative Veterinary Wellness! Our 12.5 year old lab has beat cancer twice, but now has a new kind of cancer, as well as hip dysplasia and severe arthritis. Dr. Smallwood has been patient, knowledgable and compassionate. She treats our pup with a love and sincerity that only a true dog lover could possess. Moreover, she includes us as pet parents in the process, taking care to make sure our questions are answered, and our opinions heard. My only regret is that we didn't find them sooner! We brought in our senior for corporeal shockwave and acupuncture therapy for her arthritis. She was a lot more comfortable and got around better after treatment. Would 100% recommend bringing your pet for a better quality of life.
