I contacted Esssick Tax Service after my CPA retired. I was with my CPA for 13 years. I live in San Antonio and heard about Essick tax service in Boerne from a good friend of mine. It is no surprise that the IRS is not my favorite government agency. I wanted an intelligent, professional and honest tax preparer. Essick prepared my taxes and found legitimate ways to increase my tax return by 23 to 25%. in addition to preparing my taxes on time, Chris maintained communication on the status of the tax return. I am very comfortable with their ability to understand the IRS and at the same time “look out“ for me. Mike and Chris are to great professionals and more than that they true gentleman.

By the way, I paid full price for my tax return preparation. Well worth it!

Michael and his son are very professional and yet very friendly. I had several years in a row where I had problems with my return at H&R Block but worried that a CPA would cost even more than I was already paying. To my surprise it was half the price,took less time and saved me $$$ on my taxes! Yesterday my daughter called from a Jackson Hewitt in OKC she said they had given her three wildly different figures for her tax amount and finally said she owed a bunch of money and that would be a 509.00 charge on top of her taxes. I had her send her tax forms to me and I took them to Mike without an apt and in less than an hour he found she owed less than 100.00 and charged less than half of what Hewitt wanted. My mother myself and my daughter are really grateful to Mike and his son for their help and won't be going anywhere else!!!

Mike and his Son are very personable and professional. Boerne is a small town and the expectation is always friendliness with excellent results -- Mike delivers. I had several complicated returns with real-estate and then retirement with several accounts. Mike was able to clarify the tax law for me and minimize repercussions going into a new life experience. After my wife had found this company we sent our paperwork in to the office, my wife called to verify they got it she was told Mike would get back to us, that was on Monday, it’s now Wednesday. My wife called back after no response and got nothing but short answers and attitude.After my wife told me what had happened I decided to cancel. the only response I got was “ I will take care of it” and then got hung up on. If you plan on keeping clients and getting a good word of mouth you should probably check your attitude at the door, I understand it’s a stressful time for tax preparers but customer service goes a long way

Significant errors, enough so as to require two amendments. Won’t respond. Doesn’t have or doesn’t resource records to determine what he did or didn’t file. If this is your idea of “professional,” he’s your guy!
