Absolutely LOVE this place!!! They offer authentic Thai dishes and yet delicious and comfort food. Pad Krapow with fried egg and Moo Ping is the best.

So came here on a whim, and holy cow is this place amazing. The servers and owner are absolutely lovely folks and the food is silly good. My wife and I had their curry's and they were fantastic. The cucumber salad was fresh and the spring rolls were lovely. Recommend the Thai tea as well. It is authentic by the way so none of the red pepper flakes on food you see in so many asian food places around the south burbs. The curry was nice and spicy and rich. Portions were perfect as well! Absolutely amazing food. Cannot recommend this place enough.

2nd time eating here. Service has been very good. Patient and willing to help explain. The food shines. Cucumber salad is light and a very good change of pace to the entrees. Peanut pad Thai was light on the peanut flavor. It's not like liquid peanut butter sauce. I had a pork dish that tasted like spicy Italian sausage if no casing. Came with a generous serving of white rice. I was asked if I wanted a fried egg on top. I knew it would be an up charge. The extra amount wasn't offered. I figured $1.00. it was $1.50. no worries. We will be back. 10/10 give it a try.

Been there a few time and I will be there again. I am a Thai food nut, and this place right up there with the best of them. The pork satay is succulent, fish cakes superb, Thai ice coffee and ice tea delicious. Absolutely love their savory sauce and tofu is crispy. Order the chicken rice soup each time I go. Everything is fresh to the bite and staff is welcoming professional and very nice. This place cares about its customers and food.

Long overdue review! I love this place. 5th time visiting this place. Support family businesses is all i have to say. The food is excellent. Had the spring rolls delicious. Order Pad Thai from here for the third time. Also love the Pad Kee Mao. Everything is delicious. The portion sizes are great not too big nor small. And the flavours are perfect combination. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable of the menu. I enjoy this place and so happy there is a Thai restaurant in the burbs.

This is my husband's favorite Thai place! If he knows I'm going to be in the area he expects me to bring home enough food for that night's dinner and leftovers to cover the next days lunch. I'm not sure if this is a "secret menu" item but the Thai iced coffee is so good - definitely a good on the go treat.

This Thai restaurant is wonderful! A friend recommended it to us. We will definitely go back. I ordered the Penang Curry (spicy enough to clear my sinuses, but oh so yummy!!!). My husband had the chicken and broccoli. He liked it, too! Next time he will try it with shrimp. You must try the Thai coffee and tea! Veggie and Vegan food is available.

We enjoyed talking with May, who was serving tonight. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant is clean. It has been open for 2 1/2 months. Try it out!!! You won’t be disappointed!!! I am so glad it is close to home in Darien. It is tucked behind the McDonalds in a strip mall on 75th St. and Plainfield Rd.

I hate Yelp. I'm intimate with the restaurant industry. I only leave good reviews where I feel they are earned. On that note, this place is on point. It's clean and has a small menu (that's a good thing you dumb food snobs). Everything is made to order, so don't go in there expectin to cater a party without a couple days notice "Karen". Stir fries are fresh and alive, the currys are on fire. 100 stars! I have already recommended to my friends have since become a repeat customer. Keep it up Kao Gaeng!

If you're looking for delicious and fresh Thai cuisine prepared by a lovely staff in a clean area, look no further than Kao Gaeng. My husband and I took our two young sons (5 and 3) here for dinner, and everything we ordered was perfection!

The spring rolls were delectable (I'm usually not a fan, but my husband is).

The cucumber salad was crisp and fresh with the perfect amount of whatever that dressing is.

My sons gobbled up the potstickers so quickly that I barely got a bite!

After reading so may positive reviews, my husband and I decided to try Kao Gaeng out this evening. I have lived in the western suburbs for 7 years and still hadn't found any Thai restaurant that compares to the ones in my old neighborhood until tonight! We started with the pot stickers and fried chicken appetizers. Loved them both! I then had Pad Siew and my husband had the Pad Krapow. Amazing!! And you have to try the Butterfly Pea Tea! Fun and surprisingly flavorful! We had chance to talk to May, one of the owners and you can tell they put their heart and soul into their food and business! We will be back soon!

Some of the best Thai food I've ever had! The staff is very friendly as well. Such a great spot, in the suburbs. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for some great authentic Thai food!

Friendly waitress, delicious food that was presented well, very happy I stopped here for dinner, would recommend for sure.

Quick and attentive service. The food was really good. It was light and fresh, not drenched in a heavy sauce. I had the mixed vegetable stir fry and enjoyed it. I will be coming back to try more dishes.

Top notch Thai. It takes a little time for your order to be ready, but no different than cooking from scratch at home. Everything was perfectly made, and delicious. The flavor-town that you get taken to, is just what the doctor ordered.

Kao Gaeng is one of the yummiest and unique Thai restaurants I've been to in a very long time! The food is delicious and the unique selection of entrees makes for a fun dining experience! The staff is very friendly and accomadating! Usually don't get dessert, but so glad we did...a light crepe topped with nutella, bananas and candy sprinkles! I also recommend the tofu appertizer! We will definitely be going back soon! :)

This place has quality food that is consistent and quick. The staff is amazing and I love the Thai rice and the crab ragoon. Usually takes about 30 minutes to get in and out and the food is fresh and made to order.

Revised. One of the better Thai places in Chicago area, and friendly staff. They seem to have relaxed the mandatory gratuity policy and six-person split check rule. Tip well, this place is a bargain!!
