We stayed at the Claremont for two nights during our most recent trip to Maine. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the kind front desk staff who happily gave us a tour of the facilities and showed us to our room. They even offered to help us carry our luggage up. The hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful with stunning views and amenities. The pool is great. Harry’s Bar and Little Fern were both wonderful and a great place to spend some time. Additionally, if you are looking for somewhere to stay that isn’t too far from Acadia and Bar Harbor that isn’t too touristy, this place is perfect. I can’t say good enough about this special place.

My husband and I had the best time here. Such a beautiful place! We enjoyed many meals at The Fern and loved having drinks at Harry’s. We found the wait staff to be so kind and accommodating.

The only issue we had during our stay was the shower. Our shower would only get slightly warm at best, which was not great considering the weather was in the 40s while we were there. Not a great experience for 5 days. We asked for assistance from the front desk staff on 4 separate occasions but nothing changed. I really hope they can get this sorted out in the off season as it’s truly a problem.

Looking past this issue, this was the perfect place for us!

We stayed at The Claremont during our elopement/7 year anniversary. It was such a great relaxing stay. We eloped on a boat that was able to pick us up on their dock. We ate at Little Fern and the meal was amazing. The service was fantastic and the manager even comped our desert. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We're definitely planning when we can go again.

There is only one word to describe The Claremont - perfection! It is a world away. The location is beautiful and the ambience is quintessential Maine - simple elegance. Yes, it is pricey but perfection always comes with a price. Our room was cozy and our meals were excellent. Highly recommend!

Our time at Claremont was wonderful. We stayed in the main building and were pleased with the room. It’s on the smaller side but the decor and comfort make the size a non issue. Whoever designed the interiors for the hotel did an incredible job. Immaculate New England vibe - pinks, blues, greens, lots of florals and stripes. There is a beautiful garden area with benches along with 2 small sheds that can be used as working spaces. I also appreciated the workout area. Well equipped and just a pleasant place to exercise. Another small detail that impressed me was the little shop in the lobby. It had a great selection of current books, cute clothing, and other typical odds and ends but the brands and the quality were above what I’d have expected. All the little details added up to a great stay and we look forward to returning in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at the Claremont. The hotel is well appointed, well maintained, and beautifully sited. The views are spectacular of the sound. It’s conveniently located to many of southeast harbor’s activities and sights. It’s also an easy drive to Acadia and other spots on Mount Desert Island.

What makes this hotel special is the staff - willing to go above and beyond to help you have a great experience. Victoria and Alyssa at the front desk made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Any request was accommodated easily and quickly.

The details make the difference in an experience and at the Claremont, both the property details and the customer experience details were very well done.

It felt a lot like summer camp for adults with fun activities, including s’mores and a bonfire at night, live pianist one evening, a watercolor class, swimming, and relaxing in the lovely public spaces.

I look forward to returning again and to checking out some other properties under the same management.

We loved our stay at The Claremont! It wasn't perfect, but it was lovely, unique and we felt very special. When we returned from a late dinner at Bar Harbor one night and we opened the screen door to enter the quiet, dimly lit living room, I felt like calling out "I'm home" because it brought back memories of creeping in to my grandparent's house at night. The staff was so responsive, pleasant and helpful. We loved our breakfast sandwiches at The Buttercup Cafe and the free (included!) coffee was quite good! We had dinner twice at The Little Fern and weren't disappointed with our meal. Batson's had not yet opened for the season. We walked the grounds, cozied up at the fire pit and rode The Claremont bright yellow bikes into town. We'll be back, Claremont!

I can’t say enough about the staff at the Claremont Hotel. My fiancé and I got engaged during our stay and everyone went above and beyond to make us feel special. The rooms were great and the amenities were as well. The views are unbelievable but nothing tops the world-class service. Thank you Claremont team for a weekend we’ll never forget!

This was a truly magical stay. From the building and property down to the complimentary robes. We just got engaged while staying here, and the staff organized a flower arrangement to be sent to our room, upon my fiancé’s request, so it really felt like we were looked after. I 100% recommend this wonderfully quaint hotel, and would say that if you are staying anywhere near Acadia, it should only be here.

We had a wonderful time! Beautiful property, beautiful interior design. Restaurants are very good. A nice relaxing and romantic place for a get-away with my husband. I cant wait to return!

Some feedback- would be nice if the pool was heated! we were there too early in the season to enjoy it.

The Claremont is a trip back to the pastime where customer service was everything. Service is gracious and friendly, food is exceptional, and the grounds are immaculate. My only ding would be the room lighting could be a bit brighter for folks who like to read in bed.

The Claremont is a charming, hotel with beautiful aesthetics, both inside and out. One of the standouts from my stay was my massage with Kai. He is extremely talented and his personalized massage was the best I have had in a long time and much appreciated.

What an incredible experience! Enjoyable amenities, picturesque views, friendly and accommodating staff, and quaint atmosphere all contributed to my memorable stay. In addition, the creative cocktails at Harry's and the upscale dining experience at Little Fern really round out what the Claremont Hotel has to offer. I highly recommend staying here if visiting Acadia National Park/Mount Desert Island.

Can’t say enough good things. Besides being absolutely gorgeous and thoughtful from a design perspective, all of the staff was so kind and welcoming. Justin at Harry’s bar was a delight. We had plans to head into Bar Harbor for an evening but ended up staying put to enjoy the all the hotel has to offer. We haven’t been this relaxed in a while.

Where do I even begin. (warning: lengthy review)

I stumbled upon the Claremont Hotel while I was google searching for a “fine dining experience” in Bar Harbor to host our rehearsal dinner for our intimate micro-wedding with our family. What I discovered was so much more than that. When I saw pictures of the newly revamped chic hotel, I immediately told my fiancé this is where we will be staying, it was everything I had been envisioning! From the moment we arrived on the property I knew we made the right decision. We had such a warm welcome and were greeted by Michelle and Brett. Our dinner at Little Fern restaurant was delicious, and our family could not stop raving about their experience. Special thank you to Shane (operations manager) and Chris (food and beverage manager) for constantly checking-in with us. Justin at Harry’s Bar makes the most phenomenal smooth cocktails, I also highly recommend the poolside service painkiller from Batson Fish Camp. The housekeeping staff was so friendly, personable, and accommodating! We truly felt pampered and were treated like royalty.

If you think it can’t get any better, it does. My lovely husband forgot our wedding bands (even though I reminded him 3 times) at the hotel and realized it when he arrived at Acadia National Park for our ceremony. Without hesitation he called the Claremont and spoke with Alex in reservations who convinced her husband Chris (who also works at the hotel) to drive the rings and meet my family member halfway. We are just blown away by the incredible hospitality and service we received by each staff member throughout our stay. Not to mention the hotel is picturesque, the beds are so comfortable, and the views unmatched. It has been the best and most memorable hotel stay we’ve ever experienced. Thank you for making our wedding weekend unforgettable! We can’t wait to come back for our anniversary next year. Wishing you a wonderful season. We love the Claremont, exceptional, FIVE STARS!

The recently revamped Claremont is incredible. Every detail- from the coffee table books to the bathroom finishes- is perfectly planned, and it is a real oasis on MDI. They are still ironing out some of the growing pains in booking and room blocks, but they have had the same labor challenges as many places in Maine. They make up for those lags in reservations though with the most impeccable service upon arrival and in their restaurants. The Little Fern is incredible! We are already looking forward to our next visit back!

Excellent! We loved our stay at the Claremont. This is a very beautiful property close to Acadia National Park (but the much calmer side of the Island). We love that this hotel has been recently renovated and is like new. They've added a beautiful pool (heated) and included some very nice features (like a great spa). My wife and I look forward to our next visit!

One of the best stays I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy. I heard they came under new ownership this season, and they have done a fantastic renovation. I don’t know what it was like before, but it’s gorgeous and elegant now. Someone took the care to pick really excellent classic books in the lobby, which is just beautifully designed. The service was IMPECCABLE. I really can’t say enough about that. The food is excellent as well. Totally recommend you splurge for a cabana for an afternoon like we did and laze away comfortably while the incredibly gracious staff bring you drinks and the best fruit plate I’ve ever had. A wonderful place well worth the price - the experience feels like you paid more.

We had an excellent stay at the Claremont! The staff members were very kind and accommodating. The grounds are pristine, the aesthetic is dreamy, and the views are spectacular.
We ended up taking the complimentary bikes out for a spin and had a blast!
I would absolutely recommend this place, we had a lovely time!

We did not stay at this hotel but visited for the day after finding it on Google Maps. We only had drinks at Harry’s Bar but what a beautiful and well thought-out property! The attention to detail in every public space including the lobby, Harry’s Bar, Little Fern and Baston Fish House was amazing. I would love to stay here in the future! We had great drinks and service in Harry’s Bar and would have stayed all day if we didn’t have dinner plans!
