Metropolis Big John Super Str

Big John's is a wonderful full service grocery store. Each time we have visited Metropolis, this store has fulfilled all of our needs & cravings. Their selections are vast in every department. Staff is always friendly and helpful. My favorite part, I must admit, is the giant "Big John" statue out front. Each town has their unique landmarks; Metropolis has 2: Superman & Big John. I hope this never changes.

The store always looks clean. Their meat department has a wide selection of cuts and good prices. It is well organized. The clerks are very helpful when trying to locate an item. The weekly ads have a good selection of items.

Has everything I needed right in my hometown local grocery store. The deli is great, fried chicken is a go to when I don't feel like cooking! Thank you Big John's family

Great food market and deli conveniently located just off 5th Street on your way into town. The employees are polite, courteous and attentive. They have good meats and the chicken and other meats in the deli are really delicious. Plenty of parking and well worth a stop through town to stock up while traveling and stopping to see the Superman statue.

Big John's is great. The meat is superb. Prices are great too.

For a small town grocery store, this place has most everything you need. All of the employees are friendly and helpful.

Decent and fair pricing throughout all the store as well as selections to chose from . Good meats and all. Will continue to return and shop there on a regular basis . Very nice staff and helpful as well.

Great market, Deli chicken was as good as KFC. Fresh produce was good. Really helpful and friendly staff.

Nice little store, good variety. We stopped in passing thru on a week long trip to Shawnee and saw they had cakes so we grabbed a birthday cake and the ladies there were so amazing they right then and there took the cake we picked and wrote happy birthday for our daughter on it in less than 5 minutes!! It really meant alot and made the cake perfect and it tasted delicious as well!!

This store is always awesome. But a bet pricey. Expect to spend a little more than Walmart.

Wonderful hometown grocery store. Friendly staff & owners, and very supportive of local community! Great selection of local wines & supercold walk-in beer cooler. Delicious hot meals to go at the deli counter, and everything else you need for a picnic, cookout, or camping at Fort Massac… all within walking distance. Don’t forget to take a picture with Big John and Superman while you’re in town!
