Stitching On State

I was able to visit this sweet store at the end of a business trip, and was delighted I went out of my way to go there. You don't enter from what looks like the proper front door, rather there's a door further to the left.

The setting within a house on a road in a quaint small town, with warm wood floors gave it great ambience. The fabric is arranged beautifully, mostly around the edges of the room, with sewing machines displayed in the center. (don't forget to go in the front room closest to the front porch). They had two of their embroidery machines humming away making free standing lace projects, so it was a comforting sound with which we're all familiar, and added to the ambience.

The staff was great and willing to either help or leave you alone. I recommend you find your way to this store!

We came in to look a sewing machines for my wife. She hasn't gotten started in the craft and had a million questions. The owner and an associate showed us around a bit before doing a deep dive information exchange about the machines. I went out to the roomy comfortable front porch while they talked sewing for another 45 minutes. We left with a ton of info. When we're ready to make this big purchase I am sure we'll do it here. Great shop!

When you begin visiting Stitching on State, you realize right away that they treat you like family. Need help choosing colors? You will probably get more than one person working on it with you! It is a pleasure to do business here and the quality of fabric and classes are top notch.

Mike and Elaine run a wonderful shop in Hampshire, Illinois. The service, classes, expertise in all facets of a sewing shop are second to none. Terri has helped me to bring so much joy into my family members lives as well as helping create a quilt for charity. This shop is run with efficiency and more importantly they treat all of their customers like family. The detail and attention put into everything from fabrics offered to quality sewing machines cannot be topped. Terri's patterns are exquisite and here wealth of knowledge has helped me to become a true student of quilting. I will continue to support this shop both for all of my quilting needs as well as take advantage of the classes and lock-ins offered!

I had such a good response and "honest" work for me done, that I am contemplating a new purchase of a Pfaff and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I live fifty miles from this store along with the UPS charges to ship, and I would not consider checking with any other dealer.

I was working on a quilt for my Aunt's 80th birthday. I had a problem with my pfaff sewing machine and talking with my friend and co-worker she suggested I take it to Stitching On State in Hampshire and have "Mike" the owner look at it. Even though it was a drive for me I took it there and thankfully Mike was able to fix it in no time at all!! I was able to finish the quilt in time and SURPRISE my Aunt!!. They had a great selection of fabrics and everyone there was very friendly and helpful. It was well worth the trip!!! Thanks MIke :) ps. the row by row was adorable!

So helpful and friendly. Bought my Bernina and Pratt machines. Mike is the absolute best when it comes to servicing machines and Honest in his assessments and suggestions.

Beautiful quilt shop! Great that they are open on Sunday!!!! Good variety of fabrics and lots of samples too, but some no longer available as kits.

Theu uave many different fabrics and threads and they even sell patterns. The employees are very sweet and the owner was very helpful with helping us find what we were looking for.

I hadn't been in the store in a long time and there are new owners. Loved the store. ❤ I will definitely be back very soon.
