Dukat Traditional Balkan Food

We got there late in the day & they were out of bureks, but they offered to make a fresh one for us. It might be the best thing I’ve ever eaten. We got one meat and one feta & spinach. We will definitely be back. Incredible food & wonderful customer service.

We got meat burek with very delicious yogurt. Then got a platter of ćevapčići with ajvar, kajmak, lepinje, and fries - it was top notch (we ordered more ćevapi, since they were so good). Loved the cabbage salad and hot and mild pickled peppers as well. Excellent cake and coffee to finish off a delicious meal. Between the two of us, we were stuffed. The food was so, so good! Thanks for the hospitality and the home cooked food. I will come again next time I am in Chicago.

I recently visited Dukat, and it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was cozy, with traditional Balkan music setting the mood. The menu offered a variety of authentic Balkan dishes, all prepared with care. The staff was friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall charm of the place. If you're looking for a taste of Balkan cuisine, I highly recommend Dukat!

Oh my goodness! The food here is delicious! The ghoulish and the stuffed peppers are AMAZING! You have to try this homemade food made with love. I have to go back and try more of their offerings. Grab some for a dinner party. Your guests will love you! Yummy food and desserts. If you haven't tried Balkan Food you should. I plan to come back soon!!

Great home-made style of food. Make sure you try the soup first and finish with cake and cookies.

Came to celebrate Pulaski Day!

Absolutely great home cooking! You feel like you're the guest of a Serbian household and in many ways you are! The sweet couple that runs this place barely speaks any English (they depend on an equally sweet Guatemalan woman to translate!) but they manage to get you great food and offer lots of little freebies. I went with the kids, who loved the place. We had one of the sausage dishes, the ghoulash, the prebanach bean dish and the one of the soups (essentially matza-ball soup). All of it was heart-warmingly delicious but the soup was probably the stand out, esp. for the kids. And oh, the bread was great too.

We stopped at Dukat for lunch. The food was exceptionally tasty. Stuffed cabbage (sarma), cevapi, pljeskavica (meat pattie), ice cream (homemade!!), coffee… all portions more than generous. Quality above and beyond. Atmosphere absolute wonderful, clean, cozy, warm… But the service, hospitality, kindness and friendliness you will not find anywhere else. Please visit! You will leave happy with your belly full but more importantly your heart will be full!! Cannot wait to go back. We just made some wonderful friends! Thank you Dukat ❤!

It it, a small casual place that does not lack in taste of friendliness! We were there as soon as they opened. They woman behind the counter explained what they had ready, and said we can order anything, it might just take a bit longer than what was ready. I ordered half cabbage rolls and stuffed pepper. That got me two huge stuffed cabbage rolls, and the most gigantic stuffed yellow pepper I have ever seen, with a side of mashed potatoes, and some broccoli and cauliflower. It was the most delicious stuffed pepper I have ever had in my life, EVER!! The cabbage rolls were so flavorful, had like a bacon taste to eat, so different from the Polish ones I grew up with. The hubby got half cabbage rolls as well, and the goulash, which he loved, and was also delicious!! His was served with the same sides. We had no leftovers, except the bread that was fresh backed. He had their version of a three milks cake, which was amazing!! This place reminded me of my grandma's kitchen and home cooking, we will be back for more!!

This place was amazing, the food and the service was another level. They make me feel like at home. I went there to try serbian food because my husband is Serbian, they let me to try all the menu. Everything I tried was delicious and my husband also love it. This place is small, nothing fancy, but is really clean and delicious. I recommend you This place 100%.

Fantastic meat burek! I also got 2 kinds of filled croissant. I have no idea what they were called. One was filled with what appeared to be feta and the other some kind of nut butter that might have been Nutella. They were both fantastic.

Food was excellent, especially the vegetarian baked beans and the potatoes. They're packed with flavor - honestly I could have eaten a whole bowl of baked beans. Everything had not just salt but earthy, hearty flavor.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Seating space is limited to 3 tables, and there's not space to pull them together. I would say parties over 5 people should not expect to dine in. For smaller groups or couples it makes for an intimate and pleasant setting.

I came during off-peak time and food was slightly cool inside - was definitely fully cooked but just wasn't reheated all the way. Not knocking off a star because that's to be expected from diner-like places during slow times.

Basically it's a classic diner serving authentic Balkan food. Worth a visit for the beans alone.

This is far most the best Balkan restaurant I have ever been too! The food is delicious and very fresh. Anything from cooked meals along with pastries and cakes is homemade and so flavorful.
