Carnitas Don Alfredo Original

Went to try it out. Was so pleased returned the next day to repeat my order and try chicken as well. Every taco was delicious: veggie, steak, pork,chicken. Guacamole and chips were also to my liking. Very authentic Mexican cuisine

For a Saturday it was definitely popping here definitely worth the wait tho the carnitas here are amazing specially the pigs foot ohh my chefs kiss forsureee! Long line but it went fast as long as you know what you want we got lucky to find parking AND get a table with soo many people there! its a small place but we got a table very pleasant hardworking people here! everyone is nice and very attentive I understand the wait and to be patient some people werent so pleasant because of the wait but like i said totally worth it! maybe come during the week when its not so busy and crowded to enjoy sitting down and eating here! a lot to see they have alot of paintings and fun stuff to look at on the inside parking is very limited on the weekends! Overall 10/10 definitely recommend it here for the carnitasss!

Phenomenal food they have here! The tacos with home made tortillas really bring its own unique flavor. Definitely recommend to try out all their meats.

The only thing is I got two sides or beans instead of the rice and beans as the dinner plate states but other than that the food comes with everything you need. Where as other locations will charge you even extra for them.

I eat at a lot of different places traveling for work. Until now, the southern states have had the best Mexican food... This place changed all that! Their carnitas tacos are the best I've ever had, hands down. I don't know what they do to have such great flavor and juice, but they better keep doing that! Top notch.

First time here, the ordering process was quick, and also friendly. The order was made quick , as there was a line when I arrived, but it seems people who ordered got their orders quick.

The food was delicious. The picture is of the taco dinner, which is three tacos, beans, and rice.

They have great tongue tacos, with onion and Cilantro. My husband loves the steak tacos. Both are flavorful and tender.

The King of Carnitas! Two locations, old and new, share the parking lot. They are both buzzing with people! The carnitas tacos and nachos we got were incredible! It helps if you know a little Spanish. Either way, you won't leave hungry. Por libra is by the pound. Also, check out the giant chicharrones at the original building. Amazing!

I tried the Asada tacos as well as the Pastor tacos, both were extremely good, but the pastor tacos were better I think. The Orchata is the best I’ve ever had! Prices are decent, service was good.

Wow, hands down the BEST carnitas I’ve ever had. The meat is so tender juicy full of flavor. I’ve had others but this was an amazing experience. The portions were exceptional I have nothing negative to say about this place just delicious.

This place is the best Carnitas spot I have found in ages.. First, the food is a delicacy and they have a huge variety with good size portions! The tortillas are hand made on the spot, the chips and pico are fresh and delicious! Second, the service is so amazing, people were always checking on us to see if we needed something. Highly recommended!!

This restaurant has some serious tacos that are full of flavors. The corn tortillas are made fresh by hand and the carnitas is extremely juicy and pack with amazing favors. Highly recommend to take to go tortilla and 1 LB of carnitas

The FOOD IS SOME OF THE BEST I'VE HAD. FRESH STEAK, THE RICE IS AWESOME ITS AUTHENTIC its fresh and they give you a lot. The cashier was extremely friendly to my daughter who is trying to learn Spanish (shes 8) and she was very very patient i will be returning very soon

How lucky am I that I can walk to one of the best places for traditional Mexican food in the Chicago area? Homemade tortillas, killer carnitas, perfect pozole, very clean and friendly and they call me by my name now LOL...love supporting local and this is as local as it gets. Bravo Don Alfredo and Dona Chela and staff!

If you want to try real authentic carnitas the way they taste in Mexico please come to this place. Order it in tacos or by the pound, they are tenderly delicious & full of flavors that took me to Mexico. The corn tortillas, green salsa, cilantro, onion, and a sprinkle of lime & salt made the perfect carnitas taco the way it should be. The place was busy and people just kept coming. Everyone seemed happy to be in this amazing spot for good authentic carnitas.

My family drives from Elgin just to get carnitas Don Alfredo. Never disappoints. Food is so good and the red chile is 🔥🔥🔥. I stick to the original restaurant and I’m happy I do. Highly highly recommend.

Best freakin food ever, I now drive over an hour to just get tacos with my wife. That should speak in volume. There’s about 500 Mexican food places from my house to there too. None come close to this place of the gods. It can’t be beat!!

What can I say about this place other than they have the best carnitas they are so good and the handmade tortillas you can't pass them up.
