Buyer Beware! DRMS and Voya Financial will go to extremes to avoid paying a claim. The problem is you don't find out until you are ill or injured and need your benefits which can be after years of paying for coverage in my case 3 1/2 years. This company does anything they think they can get away with to avoid paying disability claims. My claim rep, Melinda Dimick, was manipulative and twisted statements I made when she called me. I suggest ONLY communicate with them in writing. Accept their calls at your own risk likely to the detriment of your claim. If you do accept their calls, do as I did and notify them that you will be recording the calls; that is your right in most states. Melinda left information out of my file that supported my claim. The company's "registered nurse consultant," Anita Bolster, never spoke with me personally but made a medical recommendation about my claim based on Melinda's misrepresentations. Anita, RN sent my primary care doctor a letter asking if she was aware that I went on "a" camping trip with my daughter for two days as if a person cannot be disabled and go camping. That backfired because time in nature including camping are recommended as part of my treatment. Also, people who are disabled and cannot work can and do enjoy nature including people who are blind, people with intellectual disabilities, people with post-traumatic stress disorder, and people who have disabilities that require mobility aids. DRMS/Voya also used a dormant business registered in my name as reason to deny my claim despite there being nothing in my policy that prohibits a policyholder from owning a business whether active or dormant. The company is unethical and they either do not understand disabilities or they are intentionally misrepresenting information to manipulate perceptions of disability. Either is unacceptable for a company providing and accepting payment from people for Disability Insurance especially when the ignorance or intentional efforts to avoid payment could destroy a person's finances while ensuring Disability RMS a company with $90.00 Million in revenue and Voya Financial a $7.6 billion company maintain maximum profitability. Can you afford to find out your policy isn't worth the paper it is printed on when you're ill or injured?

Place is a joke they deny you for pre existing conditions basically saying you have to lie to them in order to get stp or ftp. It’s like why even offer this insurance if you can’t use or or even apply for it. Just a waste of a company and there policies. I thought insurance couldn’t deny you for preexisting conditions.

This company is a joke. My husband has been out of work since the end of August and he has only been paid one time and it was up to November 14th. They keep saying they are reviewing the doctors papers and will get back to us shortly. I have never had such a hard time getting pay out from an insurance that has been paid into for almost 5 years without any claim. They just keep stalling and stalling with every excuse in the book on why they are not paying. Terrible company and when my husband finally gets back to work he is going to cancel this insurance and let his coworkers know what a scam they are.

These people are idiots and they discriminate against people. they are the worst people ever!!!! they will turn you away if you have an ATV accident. i wasnt even planning on using my short term disability for this issue and they canceled my policy how stupid can a business really be. stay away from this so called place of business!!!!
