Bruno's Restaurant & Tavern

A well deserved edit: It was worth the hype. After being invited in by the family to try their food again I am pleased to say round two was exceptional. My husband had the veal Saltimbocca. A velvety smooth sauce which was rich in flavor was pored over perfectly cooked veal cutlets wrapped in generous slices of prosciutto. Pair in the green beans and mashed potatoes and they served up an amazing dish. really knocked it out of the park. I ordered the ravioli with sausage. I love a Al dente pasta and this ravioli did not disappoint. Light and fresh, cheesy and delicious with a great red sauce. Really enjoyed my sausage as well. Also tried the meatball calzone as an appetizer. Highly recommend that as well.

I am so glad to have been invited in to try Bruno’s again. It was a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband. We will certainly return.

My previous review had been of a not so great take out meal. I don’t feel it is fair to leave it up after tonight’s meal. Consider my mind changed. Thank you, Danny.

The steak was AMAZING and the vibe was great our server Suzy was so nice too I had the best birthday dinner ever ❤

Our waitress has worked there 25 years, super friendly and fun loving. She said it's the best place to work and she obviously loves her job. We all had the broiled scallops special. Delicious (except green beans were overcooked). Manager there to greet everyone, and that's such a wonderful touch. We'll definitely go back when in Portland again.

I always have a great experience at Bruno's. I usually go for lunch. It's nothing fancy, but you can tell they do what they do very well. The lady who greets at the door is so friendly- I love her so much.

I don’t live all that close to this place so it’s not too of mind most nights when I go out. But every time I go, I remember how good their food is! No need to worry about parking like you would downtown and service is fast and staff is always very pleasant.

Food here was stellar, just what I needed! I got the rigatoni vodka, which ended up being really good. The sauce is super creamy and reminded me a bit of a Mac and cheese sauce. Overall so worth it and hit the spot. Thanks guys!

Scallops were wonderful. 20 of us & we all loved our meals. Waitress was super patient & sweet

Friendly waitstaff, cozy, lots of choices on menu. My Lasagna All Compagnola (spinach pasta w/veggies, cheese, béchamel & tomato cream sauce) was perfect. So were the 2 desserts my hubby & I split: chocolate mousse & tiramisu. Our 1st time there, can't wait to go back!

The food was fantastic! The service was impeccable. We met the owner and he was very charming and nice. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Bruno's is A#UNO!. The food is consistently delicious and well-prepared. The service is excellent - the staff are relaxed, hard-working amiable, and welcoming. It's a really comfortable place for women going there alone. Salute, Bruno's!

This is a lovely restaurant.we had a great meal with good friends. The server was thoughtful and courteous. Our meal, lasagna and meatballs was to die for. The brews were perfect pours. I will be back.

I had dinner with friends this past Saturday evening at Bruno’s! I have never had a better dining experience. Food A+++, service A+++ and atmosphere A+++. Bruno’s is an amazing restaurant that never disappoints. I highly recommend Bruno’s for the ultimate dining experience!!!

Our dinner was amazing. Best Italian I’ve had in a long time. The Caesar salad was homemade. The lasagna and meatballs were fantastic. The scallops and stuffed mushrooms were good too.

We had the most wonderful service at your establishment tonight. Susie is a bonafide professional server. She anticipated our needs, was timely and not rushy, and a very pleasant person. Absolute rockstar.

Absolutely amazing location. Not only did the food come out unbelievably quick, but the aroma and taste are superb! It was fairly priced for a fine dining Italian restaurant. Service is also exceptional.
I highly recommend a visit on any occasion.

We had a fantastic time today at Bruno’s. We were hosting a bridal shower for our friend ‘s daughter and everything was perfect. Lisa , who we thought was just our bartender , took care of everything. Made excellent drinks , set up the food , bussed our tables, packed up the left over food , took photos and continually asked if we needed anything else. Food was excellent and plentiful. Thanks for the great lunch and service. We will highly recommend.

The atmosphere is great and so is the food, had raviolis with meatball and Italian sausage, delicious! The staff was outstanding!

Best food I ate in Maine the whole week I was here!! I had the chicken marsala and it absolutely did not disappoint. Jade was such a great server and on point with recommendations with an awesome personality! Loved the atmosphere, accents, and location! Thanks for a great experience!
