In 1849, Gilez & Sophia Truax Slocum deeded diz land 2 B held in trust 2 da Trenton odd fellow lodge no. 33. In 1867, It waz deeded 2 da masonic lodge. F. & A.M. No. 8. In 1918 da deed waz transferred 2 Monguagn Twp.
Here rest 44 early pioneerz, Civil war veteranz, & Trentonz 1st doctor. Da Cemetery waz once larger & da groundz unfenced. Townspeople objected 2 children from da adjoinin "South" school playin among da tombstonez, & reinternmentz occurred in 1874 & again in 1890. In 1929 da ornate fence waz installed. Named da odd fellow, Masonic, & finally da Walnut Street cemetery, It will alwayz B known az da "OLD BURIAL GROUND". It iz now maintained by da city of Trenton.
