Torch River Shack | Food & Pontoon Rentals

The owner was over the top helpful since it was our 1st time on the lake. He took the time to explain everything to us and give us great recommendations. He was very friendly and the young boys working for him were also great. Smooth booking process, smooth check in and check out process, located right at the south end of Torch and popular sand bar. The store had cute Torch clothing as well as adult slushies, alcohol, food, ice, etc. The boat was clean and nice. We had a wonderful day on the beautiful lakes and rivers. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend. Thank you for all your help! I wish I would have got your name.

We rented a pontoon boat from them a couple weeks ago, and the process was smooth and simple. We were on the boat quickly, and the owner (Scott I believe?) was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They also have plenty of snacks and drinks to take on your boat with you, so there’s no need to buy pop, beer, seltzers, or whatever else you’d like to drink before arriving. This makes it so convenient for packing up your boat for the day.

My only small complaint is that despite advertising that they had breakfast burritos and coffee, neither were available when we arrived at 10am for our boat. Just be advised that they might now have these items if you arrive in the morning, so eat breakfast beforehand.

We will definitely rent from these great people again!

Torch River Shack was a GREAT place to rent our pontoon from on Saturday, July 16, 2022! They were extremely helpful and courteous. They initially could not find our reservation but they were not going to turn us away. We did produce a confirmation number to show that we had reserved one and they were all about taking good care of us. We had a great time on Torch Lake and the surrounding rivers all because the owner showed us on the map what areas were neat to explore. We will definitely be back to rent at the Torch River Shack next year!

Our family of 9 came out to Torch Lake just to spend the day and hang out together. Then we realized we had forgotten the most important thing to make our lunch.

On our way back we saw Torch River Shack and decided to stop in and just buy some lunch. When I mentioned to the owner, what happened she immediately helped us make our lunch, rather than trying to make us all by her pizza, subs or salads. I’m sure they are really good though.

We also bought some shirts, which were reasonably priced for being a souvenir type item. .

We did buy some ice cream too, it was the best Moose Tracks and Superman I have ever tried. Apparently it comes from Novi here in Michigan and it’s got double the milk fat or something like that, but it was amazing! Even if you just stop for ice cream you need to make a stop.

I stopped there just to check out the water and store! The workers were really nice and didn't mind me taking pictures while they were servicing customers! Pulling into the driveway/lot was a bit intimidating, it's a 180 degree turn.

Torch Lake. They have yummy ice cream and other snacks. Employees are very friendly. Was hoping to get a Torch Lake Sweatshirt but did not have much of a selection, same with the youth sizes.

Hands down the best place to rent a boat near torch lake. Best price and service. I was very impressed with the care and service. Especially the owner who was nothing but friendly, and professional. This was my first experience renting a boat and he was so accommodating and pleasant with our group, even gave us spots to visit. When we came back, the young guys in the crew were so pleasant and friendly. Great boosy slushies by the way! Other boat rentals in the area are very overpriced and have bad policies in my opinion. If you need a boat, look no further!

Great place! They have everything you need while out on the water with your boat. Their Pizza is amazing! They are a full stop shop!! They also have really cute Torch Lake mens and womens apparel. Five Stars!

Had a wonderful time Staying @TorchRiverShack! The upstairsd apartment has beautiful water views from every window. Couldnt ask for a better location. Right on Torch River not even a minute ride to the Sandbar. So comfy and cute the rental has everything you need for a great vacation or getaway. Having a store downstairs is also so nice. Great Pizza, Flint Style Coney Dogs, Subs, Salads, Snacks, and Beverages. The Adult Slushies are Amazing as well. Book while you can!!! Our Hosts Laurie & Scott are amazing people. Great hospitality and Great Friends! It also comes with a Boat Slip!!! What a great time and Place.

Fantastic summertime destination! I would recommend it for a girls weekend, family vacation or just a getaway with your love….There is something for everyone and the options are endless!

100% recommended! Awesome place to rent from! We were all first timers driving a boat on torch and the weather was a little windy that day. We were hoping for the sandbar but they were honest that it wouldn’t be great & took time to explain the best spots to go on a day like that with a map. Made sure we had everything we needed, and were fun and laid back. Boats were so nice, clean and a great price. Will for sure be back again!!

Great newer boats, great service! I'm familiar with the lakes so they had me in and out in less than 10 minutes at pick up and drop off. I also heard them giving a party that was not familiar with the lakes a full rundown of the area which I imagine was very helpful. We have rented 3 times from the Torch River Shack when we have had more people than our boat carries, and we will be back again next time we have a big party that needs some lake time on a nice boat.

Great place to rent pontoons. They pull it up right to the pier for you and refuel it when you return, definitely convenient. Boats are super nice as is the staff here! I have rented from them the last two years. Also don't forget to get some cool t-shirts and their ice cream is unbelievably delicious! I hear the pizza is great too, we have never tried that yet.

This place was amazing! It’s literally right off of the lake, so it’s super convenient. They allowed me to take my two dogs and the staff was great! It’s a lot of young kids who are patient and willing to help you! One of which was Logan, she was so helpful to us and gave us enough knowledge to ride the lake safely and successfully. We needed a little help with something during our sandbar time and she came straight out and got us situated. I will DEFINITELY be returning and recommending this amazing shack!!

We had a wonderful experience renting a boat from Torch River Shack. The boat was ready to go when we arrived, it was new, clean, and spacious. The boat was loaded with life jackets but we needed another one for a toddler and the team at Torch River Shack provided one for us free of charge. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. For our next boat rental we’ll be back to Torch River Shack.

We had the best experience renting a pontoon here. Scott gave us a tutorial on everything so we felt comfortable and confident operating the boat for the day. The boat was luxurious and comfortable both on the big open water of Torch Lake and in the calmer waters of the Clam River. Everything was smooth sailing and made for a truly memorable experience.

The Torch River Shack is a must SEE! The prices are very low, the Pizza is the best in the State of Michigan, the Ice Cream is Amazing and lets not forget "The Adult Slushies". The staff are incredibly professional and can get you basically whatever you need. The Pontoon rentals absolutely "Sail you Away" . What an amazing place to spend the summer with friends and family, where the good times will set you a' blaze! Thank You Torch River Shack, I will be shacking up with you every summer for good food, good times and those "Adult Slushies'"...

Pontoon rental was easy and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. The store was nice and had everything you could want. They gave us great advice on some day trips to side rivers and lakes we wouldn’t have known about otherwise.

We had a great day on the lakes thanks to Torch River Shack pontoon rental. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the areas and suggested the best spots for swimming with our family. I’d definitely recommend to all.
