A Peter James Salon

I came in for my first time this week and saw Alexis! She was amazing. I was there from 5:45 - 8:45 and she was so up beat and personable the whole time. Not only did she give me the most beautiful hair, but she made the process really fun. She definitely knows what she’s talking about when it comes to hair. I went in looking for something different, but nothing too drastic and she gave me exactly that. I could go on and on but the pictures speak for themselves. I will be seeing Alexis for all my hair needs from now on. :)

Alexis is absolutely the best. I've gotten pretty much every color under the rainbow put in my hair, and every time, it's turned out incredibly vivid and somehow feels healthier than before I came in. I can only guess she has some some sort of magic powers but I may never know.

If you need color and a great fade, she's your girl. I wouldn't trust anyone else to get the lasting and powerful color that she does for me.

Alexis is the best! She always does such a good job with my hair. Whether it's color or cut I am always so impressed with her work. This time we did a nice trim and darkened my roots. Absolutely love it. She's also testing out a new service of brow tinting and I am OBSESSED. Absolutely love them! Thanks Alexis!

Peter did a great job cutting my hair - I love my new haircut, and have gotten several compliments on it! Excellent service! They've put great precautions in place for COVID - grabbed a new mask at the door, wide open space with only a couple of other people, masks on during the full haircut. Great value too - especially for first-time customers. Would highly recommend, and will definitely come again!

Bright and open salon with modern styling. Alexis is fantastic - very personable and talented stylist. I've been going to her for several years (for men's haircut). I followed her here from another salon, and now my wife is a client a well.

P.S. they're taking covid-19 precautions seriously and I feel completely safe during my visit.

This Salon is one of the best kept secrets in Ann Arbor. I had no idea that it existed until several months ago and I had been by it many, many times! One of my friends recommended it, so I went and was pleasantly surprised - and even more surprised to find out how long they had been there and I had not heard of them! I went in with a general idea of what I wanted, looked through some books and showed Peter, who helped me with a new look for my long hair that was up-to-date and easy to do. I get a ton of compliments, especially right after it is cut. I have now recommended the salon to other friends and my husband is going there too! Very cool decor and great people! Hope this will be the last time I change hair dressers!

I got my hair done by Alexis about a week ago and I can not say enough good things about her. She is so professional and really listens to what I am wanting. You can really tell she loves what she does, not to mention she did a fantastic job! I have been getting so many compliments on my cut and color. I am getting married at the end of the month and I wouldn't trust any one else with my hair! Highly recommend Alexis!

This is a beautiful salon, clean and comfortable. After reading reviews, I drove an hour to get my hair cut and colored here and it was well worth the time and gas. Alexis did an amazing job and made an extra effort to understand exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommend this salon and Alexis!

If I could give 10 stars I would. This is not a normal salon. When you arrive it's very artistic place and that's also the attitude of the stylist their. Your hair is their canvass.

I started using this place when I lived in Ann Arbor, I now lived in Northern Detroit and I still come to this place. It's worth the long drive and price.

Every where I go in Detroit, even at Airports and Conventions in California. I get random strangers saying they love my hair and how it great it looks. I tell them I don't go to stylist, I got to Artist to style my hair at Peter James,

I just feel awkward as a man with long hair to have compliments about my hair :|. Not the kind of attention I want but I guess it's great for Peter James Salon.

My experience at the Peter James Salon was awesome. They did everything right. The color is perfect and the cut is maintenance free. As a senior woman it is nearly impossible to get this kind of respect and service. My hair is graying and thinning, and I had given up. To my amazement, my hair now looks perfect. They are not only talented and skilled, but we actually talked about it all BEFORE the work began. First time that I've had that happen.

I love the way Peter knows how to cut my hair. It is naturally curly and thick. I receive so many compliments on my hair. It is a comfortable atmosphere and his staff is always very nice. So glad I found him.

I have been going to A Peter James Salon for the past 3 years and have nothing but good things to say. I had spent years looking for a hair stylist who understood my hair (curly African American hair is not always an easy task) and I was so happy to find Trisa. Not only has she been able to consistently cut and style my hair to perfection but she has also helped me get over my fear of highlights. I can honestly say that besides great service I have also found a true friend at the salon.

This was my second time getting my cut and color done by Trisa - so happy with the services, how my hair turned out, and how pleasant both visits were. She is very detail oriented and cares a lot about doing hair the right way. There was a 50% off deal for new clients, and 50% off for you for each friend you refer that comes in.

Always get a great cut and color when I go here! Plus, they take the time to show you tips and things to do with your hair so that you can continue to rock their killer cut on your own. I don't feel rushed out the door as I have at other salons but instead like they really care about their customers and it is worth the drive for me to go there versus salons in my town.

Peter has incredible talents as a hairstylist. Never heard or seen anything negative come out of his parlor. It is definitely worth at least one visit for sure. Peter is ahead of his time.

I have been using A Peter James for almost 4 years now. The staff is professional and excellent at what they do. I get both a cut and color usually, and have now tried out a range of colors I would normally have been hesitant about as I know if I get it done here I will like the results no matter what.

I have had some awful cuts at many different places in town. I don’t know if I have hard hair to cut or what but Amanda Parker absolutely killed it on my cut today and she is a pleasure to sit with. A++ she is my go to now!

After two great haircuts and a wonderful experience with highlights, I'm looking forward to my upcoming appointment with Peter. The experience at this salon is stress free and comfortable!

I had my hair dyed from red to blonde and I was a little nervous because I have had bad experiences before. Laurie took care of me and even though it took a long time it came out fantastic. I highly recommend!
