Cinnabon was so delicious, they warmed it up for me and it's one of the best I ever had. Good latte, good coffee. Ample seating. Staff was incredibly kind gave excellent service. They have all the milk options- Will be returning soon.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Detroit!!! They got classic coffee and baked goods. It's a good place to work from and the owners make you feel like family. Highly recommend the drinks Alicia makes! Street parking right outside the store and music perfect for the vibe. My girlfriend loves their smoothies and I'm a fan of the lattés.

I was delighted to find this active community space right next to the Redford Theatre. It’s filled with comfortable seating and a small stage area where I think people read or do intimate performances for small audiences. Behind the Java shop is a eclectically decorated open area where you can have your drink and snack outdoors. Further back is a room they rent out or host their own special activities like Art for children. I was impressed with the beautifully cafe, cozy seating and the helpful staff, especially the General Manager, Tynisha. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for cool upcoming events like the Black Tattoo Art & Music Expo. Motor City Java House supports its local community. Come support them! I think you’ll feel comfortable and be impressed. I know I was.

By far the coolest coffee shop in the D! I like how they used local artist, reused materials from abandoned houses, donates produce from their garden, hosts local events and maximized abandoned buildings. I stopped in to buy a cup of Blue Mountain coffee and a Danish roll. Warm environment, owner visible and personable with customers.
This is a neighborhood shop where many people gather for meetings, shop talk, and coffee!
Nice ambiance... welcoming atmosphere with beautiful art pieces by local artists on walls. Small lounge with couches. tables and chairs.

This place is awesome!! Me and my mom where on our way to a nail appointment, and stoped to get coffee. when we stepped in it was super homey and there is a lot of space in the back that I think you can rent out. The person working the counter was super nice, and I'm pretty sure there's apartments upstairs you can rent.

You definitely want to be in this space for coffee.

Was heading to a totally different coffee house then a voice said go check that other one out. Crossed 4 lanes of busy traffic and a MI turn around and drove up. My goodness it's a great thing I did. The owners are very friendly and kind, they have a lot of amazing additions that they have up their sleeves so don't miss going and talking and enjoying coffee.

A real gem right next door to The Redford Theater. Service with a smile, terrific cookies and muffins, in a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. We'll be back!

Nice place to meet a friend for a snack. A place you can have small meetings. Very clean, professional staff and parking available.
They have different teas, coffee and cold beverages, cookies, muffins, other items.
It is worth the visit.

Wish I'd found out about this place sooner! I miss the Bottom Line in Midtown, but Java House may have the coolest atmosphere of any coffee shop I've ever been to! The whole Artist Village on this block is one of the best gems in the city.

I stopped by for the first time to get some coffee, but ended up getting so much more. I was able to tour the entire grounds. It was magnificent to see the artistry in the design of the space. It's a wonderful space to use for engagements, baby showers, birthdays, and everything in between. Great for both outdoor and indoor events.

It was a very nice atmosphere to be able to go in for awhile. I just got a hot chocolate (not a coffee drinker) and a large was very reasonably price. I was hoping for a little more food options (to be fair, I could have/should have asked if they had more soups or anything else available). Staff was very friendly so it is my fault for not asking. I will be back in the future for sure, even if it is to enjoy a hot chocolate while I read a book.

The owner is a gem. The cafe is set up on one side where seating frames the stage. However, the layout is still perfect if there isn’t a show. The coffee is good. The pound cake was delicious. The owner provides positive feel good vibes which contributes to 5 stars. It is important to value and connect with customers.

Cute little coffee house! Inviting ambiance with large and small seating to accommodate students, friends and work meetings. The owner hosts city development meetings. Her enthusiasm and kindness was enough to make me a repeat customer even if I’m not in the mood for coffee!

I absolutely adore this place. Owner Alicia is a wonderful woman and her establishment and body love and community. Motor City Java is known for Creative juices which is a poetry Open Mic session as well as its bi-weekly Jazz & Java event which is free, the coffee here is amazing it's tea is amazing.
Defiantly a great place for friends to come hang out
