I needed bolts for a dog crate that was delivered with the wrong size. GI Hardware staff took the time to help me find just what I needed and the price was great! Highly recommend for all your hardware and yardwork needs!

Greeted immediately and the smell of the freshly popped pop corn sent me into a moment of nostalgia. I was surprised how much more they had beyond the needs I had when I walked in.

We shopped there for over 20 years before we retired and moved. Awesome service. Always enjoyed shopping there. Knowledgeable employees. They installed our Generac generator. A real asset to the island.

Always nice coming here. Very neat inside with everything exactly where it should be. The staff inside are VERY knowledgeable and always know exactly where everything is and can point you in the right direction. They will help you even if you don't know exactly what you need. I do feel like its important to mention that they do have free popcorn also sometimes haha.

They have odds and ins on all kinds of stuff. Old family hardware with new items great prices friendly staff. Shop the local guys before the big hardware, they cost more.

I love this place - you can buy literally anything here. The people that work there are always really friendly and know where everything is. If you ask where screws are, they just don't point you to an aisle. They'll walk you there, ask about your project, make recommendations, etc. Then you can buy a beer to celebrate when you finish the job. Definitely a great place to shop.

Very nice hardware, household goods, gun, and liquor store! It has it all! The staff were very friendly, the store was well stocked, and the prices were fairly reasonable.

This is a great small town general merchandise store that stocks a wide variety of products. Just be aware that they close by 6pm so if you want to go you have to get there somewhat early.

Love GI hardware! Always friendly and ready to help as soon as you walk in. Met the owners on Ladies Night and found out they are amazing as well. They now sell liquor, too. Everyone should give them business and keep this local store thriving!

This place is amazing. Friendly helpful staff that is actually knowledgeable. They have a gun counter as well. Your would be surprised to see how much they carry. Way better than home box stores for most everyday hardware items.

Grosse Ile Hardware is nicely put together. Each isle tells you what they have and the employees there are outstanding. If you ask where something is they will walk you straight to the product instead of pointing you to an isle and saying that it is somewhere down that isle. Very professional and I will go back there for all of my Hardware needs.

G.I. Hardware is and always has been our local hardware store for what seems like forever. After Mr. Lowler ? (Original owner) left and new ownership took over it has gotten even bigger and better withe new items for sale. If we want to keep it we must shop local.

What a hardware store should be, but so rarely is these days. Helpful folks that actually know how to fix things and are able to give you a bit of advice on your projects--what a novelty! So glad the island has this gem available for its residents!

Everyone is always very helpful. I went in today to get 4 keys made they didn't work on my lock so I went back in and the young man made me 5 additional keys free of charge and they worked 😁 thank you so much for your help.

Grosse Ile Hardwsre employees are extremly knowledgable and helpful. When you enter the store you are greeted and asked if they can help, then you are professionally shown where your item is located, not just told where but also kinda led to your goal. If you share your plans and if you are looking at an item that will not work they will give good advice even if it means not making the sale.
If you live on the "Island" then why not support the island. Why drive off when you can get the same right at home. I have purchased in the "big box" stores like everyone else and find the parking and walking the distance not always the better choice. The prices are, more than likely, close enough to place the benefit of buying local in 1st place. Plus my time means something to me. Always quickest in and out... right on Macomb our home town favorite!

Employees are friendly and appear knowledgeable regarding the product they sell. Prices are very reasonable and competitive to large chains of stores. No need to leave the island.

Great place. When the big box store does not stock things because it is "not the right season", Grosse Ile Hardware typically has it. For example, my family and I bought a house on Grosse Ile in August 2017. My wife asked me to buy a garden hose for the backyard. The reason why is my wife wanted to use the hose to wash the outside Windows. The first place I checked was the Home Depot in Woodhaven. Even though it was still 70 degrees out, the did not have any garden hoses available for purchase. They did have snow shovels and snow blowers however. Since I was in the area I drove over to Wal Mart and they also did not have any garden hoses on stock. I drove back to Grosse Ile and on a hunch decided to see if Grosse Ile Hardware had any garden hoses in stock. To my surprise they had two or three different types of garden hoses available. When it comes to convenience, availability and likelihood to find "out of season" items, Grosse Ile Hardware is the clear winner of downriver hardware stores.
