Yesterday was a Soft Grade Opening at the new Jay Birds on Southfield Rd, in Lathrup Village. I must say the place is so warm, inviting, quaint and full of life. The Taco Bar was amazing and I was so pleased to see old faces and especially Kurnia & Jay. This place will be the talk of the City in no time. My new Cocktail home for sure. Thanks Mr& Mrs Brown for a wonderful day and the love I felt. God Bless 👏👏👏👏

My husband ordered a carry-out for our first experience with Jay Birds, and the food was delicious. We had barbecue chicken and turkey chops. The green beans were simply delicious, I never had green beans that tasted like that. Also, the sweet potato/yam was very delicious as well (brown sugar was in a separate container for the yam). The turkey chops were fried and very tasty. The barbecue chicken was good. Oh, whipped potatoes were delicious too. We will return for more.

I hope they’re not closed permanently. They have the best seared salmon salad. The lobster bisque fries and wings (when wanting comfort food) also good. Nice down home comfortable atmosphere with that Nawlins bourbon street feel. Good friendly service!

Black-Owned and great food. Ill be back when the cute girl starts bartending too. The spicy sliders were top tier as well as the potato skins. Prices weren't too bad

My colleagues hosted a Karaoke night and it was amazing! We all had a ball! I definitely enjoyed my first time!

I have dined at Jay Birds Grill numerous times. The food is delicious. I especially enjoyed the Salmon, Catfish and Jerk Chicken Wings! Oh yes, I also enjoy the awesome Mac & Cheese, Baked Sweet Potatoes & Collard Greens! Kudos to the Chef!! They even have an awesome Holiday Mango Iced Tea! It was the best tasting Iced Tea I have ever tasted! It is a great place for dinner and holding private events! I highly recommend Jay Birds!

Yesterday was my first visit to Jay Birds. Let me just say I've been waiting for this place to open and it was worth the wait! First impression was excellent. The attendant taking my carryout order "Joy" was AMAZING!! I value awesome service over everything and she provided just that. Second, the food was amazing!! She recommended the Turkey Burger and it was so good, a must try. And the Rotisserie chicken and fries were amazing. And let me say I will make a special trip for that Raspberry Lemonade alone. It has a bar and a nice dining area inside. I wish I would have taking a picture of the food but, we ate everything up!! Can't wait to come back.

The food was delicious! We had the turkey chops Mac n cheese greens and mashed potatoes, with potatoe wedges on the side!!! Sounds like a lot but it was my first time here and wanted a good sample! Needless to say our plates where wiped clean when we left. Will definitely go back any time I’m here!!!

I visited the restaurant in November 2020. The staff were very accommodating and the service was outstanding! The food was Wonderful!!! It was seasoned perfectly. I've never enjoyed food that was so very delicious, that I could barely stop eating it! I ordered the turkey chops, macaroni and cheese and collard greens. My son thoroughly enjoyed the catfish, macaroni and cheese and collard greens dinner. We were both very impressed with the meal and we look forward to visiting the establishment in the near future. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the diner, who is looking for a Fabulous Enjoyable meal. You will not be disappointed!

My first time being here. This was a nice place and Black owned. We were a party of about 20. Our server was Rasheda. She took care of us all on her own. She was very patient and did a great job. I had the chicken salad. It was very good.

Nice little Neighborhood Gathering Place. Good Food. Service is often slow. They could use more staff, also the staff could be more courteous.
Entertainment has been excellent.

I just had a Jay Birds experience and I enjoyed myself and company. The atmosphere was nice, clean, enjoyed the music the Asian ginger rotisserie chicken was moist and tender. I love mash potatoes and a huge fan of vegetables which was cooked just right. The fruity flamingo was nice. My over all experience was great from the service, food, and drinks i will make this a regular get away spot with family and friends.

My first time there. It was great! The steak bites were tasty. Th signature cocktail was tasty, too. The band was awesome! I'll be back.

As far as new restaurants are concerned this is my favorite! You're missing out if you haven't had the opportunity to dine here. The food is great and so is the staff. The waiters pay great attention to their tables and food comes out without any delay. I've had the pleasure of meeting the owners while dining and they gave me great suggestion on what to try off the menu! Thanks again ! can't wait to dine here again in the future!

Jay Birds is a hidden gem that you definitely want to visit. This place definitely gives a family vibe. I've had about 6 different things on the menu and everything has been great. The fried or grilled Turkey chops are slapping!! Drinks heavy too. Go heeeerrrree. You won't regret it!!

Visited yesterday for the first time. I was impressed as soon as I walked in. I was greeted, properly by 2 staff members, then the owner came out to take my order. Food was out and ready, quickly. I ordered the ginger asian wing dings and green beans. The greens beans had that homemade taste, and the wing dings were sooo good(just right!) The place was clean, atmosphere friendly and smooth. I went back to work and told all of my co-workers and friends. I will be a frequent visitor to Jay Birds. Thanks crew, for a great experience, and great food!!!

I haven't been here recently but have eaten there many times in the past. The food is great, the service is hospitable, and the prices are fair. Make sure you try the spicy shrimp and the turkey burger.
