Olmsted Medical Center FastCare Clinic - South

I came to the Olmsted Medical Center FastCare Clinic on a Sunday morning to deal with an emergent issue. The staff was prompt, friendly and professional and I received immediate attention.

I can’t speak to the negative reviews, but I was very pleased with all aspects of my visit and highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of urgent care assistance.

We were so impressed with the level of care we received. The doctor took his time and was so good with kids.

Doctor was great. Put me at ease after a positive test result.

Friendly staff. They were able to get me in and out fast. Thanks

This is a great place to bring my family. I love the new building and the staff is great.

Going here is a complete waste of time - my experience:

Developed a sore throat with swollen lymph nodes. The doctor barely looked at my throat, said she didn't want to do a strep test due to me being on antibiotics in the last month. I told her I don't think it is strep, I've had something similar in the past and was given oral corticosteroids to clear it up. She kept repeating that she didn't think that doing a strep test would be beneficial and that they don't have equipment to look down people's throat at that location - I'm not sure what she was talking about with this idea of putting a scope down someone's throat, if she had taken more then a second to look in my mouth it was clearly inflamed and irritated. The doctor repeated that they couldn't do anything to help me at this location.

They wouldn't provide any medications to help ease my symptoms, wouldn't hear me repeatedly tell them that corticosteroids had helped in the past during a similar situation. She was so fixated on strep throat, if that's the case then prescribe a course of antibiotics to see if helps. I was in the office for maybe five minutes - apparently step throat is the only cause of a common sore throat to this doctor and she was unable to process or diagnose anything else.

Most disturbingly - the doctor I saw was dishonest in her notes that where submitted in my after visit summery - apparently she discussed with me ways to care for and monitor my symptoms, this is absolutely not the case. I would have loved to have known this information, but I only received after reading the after visit notes. In fairness, I was told to go to the ER if certain symptoms developed, but there was an abundance of information included in the report that she simply didn't discuss with me.

Very frustrating and bizarre experience - I'd strongly advise against going to this place, unless you need a test for covid or strep throat, apparently that is all they are able to diagnose. it's a complete waste of time and money.

Needed a strep test and influenza test (with a whole lot of influenza exposures) the practitioner that tested me barely touched my nostrils for the flu test and barely touch my throat for the strep test. Surprise surprise both tests were negative. So I paid for what exactly?? I love OMC so to me this is very sad.

Dr. Kevin M. Switalski is the worst doctor at OMC that my family has every had to encounter. Multiple times he’s refused strep test on my children and instead demands a Covid test be done. When ever a Covid test was done it had come back negative and he still would refuse strep test. We demanded him to do the strep test and he was rude and unprofessional, of course test came back positive within 12 hours. Another time my young adult child went to him and same thing, except he lead my child to believe that insurance wouldn’t cover a strep test after doing a Covid test that was negative. They went to a different OMC doctor on 9th St SE to get tested for strep, they did this willingly and without demanding a Covid test and again it came back positive.

Can I give 0 stars?? Worst customer service and manners. My wife wanted a strep throat test and they kicked her out because of a pending Covid test. They were very rude about it.

Completely and utterly disappointed in the service provided here. They didn’t do or prescribe anything that hasn’t been tried already, which we had mentioned to them. A complete waste of money and time. I should have known it was going to be a bad experience when I walked in and the receptionist didn’t even have her mask on properly.

55 minute wait at a fast care for a strep test.

Rude, condescending staff.
