Five West

The Korean chicken dish that I had along with my husbands halibut with risotto were delicious. The portion sizes were just right so that you weren’t over full & could actually enjoy a dessert. We had the delicious Caramel Delight Cheesecake for their Girl Scout series of cheesecakes. I’m a cheesecake snob - it was really good.

Thoroughly enjoyed our celebratory dinner out at Five West. The queso dip got things started with a nice little kick. The salmon rice bowl was scrumptious and the salmon had a nice sear on it. Chicken tacos were fully loaded and had great flavor. Shrimp were perfectly cooked. Great atmosphere with a good number of TVs in the bar area.

10/8/23 - Wife and I came out to eat here for brunch. We got here around 11am and this place was full. We had to wait around 45 minutes. Service was great, server was really attentive. Food was also great. I was feeling a burger, so I got the Maple Bourbon Burger. My wife got the Maple Bourbon Chicken & Waffles. The burger was good, taste was full of Maple flavor, something different from what I usually order just to try it out. Meat was tender and cooked nice. I did not taste my wife's food so I can't comment on that. We also ordered appetizer Crispy Shrimp, which was our favorite food from our brunch. Shrimp was flavorful, crispy, and the salad underneath also had great flavor to it. Everything about the dish was great. I also had the rocket fuel cocktail drink which was really strong. Overall great place, great atmosphere, and great good. We will have to come back to try the lunch and dinner menu.

Service was super nice! Been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and always have had good service and great food. Usually is busy, so call ahead and make a reservation. Also really nice seating area inside (a fireplace) or outside (by some water). Bathrooms are also very nice and clean.

Stellar service, great food--this place really has it all for a lovely date night escape! We were seated right away, and throughout our visit, our server Nikki B. took great care of us. She was so genuinely friendly, we ended up having a nice laugh and brief chat every time she came around.

As a cider-lover, I was delighted to see Cider Boys on tap, and my husband enjoyed trying two different beers. We'd just barely made the cut off to order before happy hour ended, too. I ordered the margherita flatbread; it was really good, in large part because it included a luscious, thick layer of cheese. My husband had the parmesan walleye dinner, which he really enjoyed.

I think the only nitpick I can offer is that the high-ceilinged environment was rather loud, even though it wasn't packed with people (though it was sure starting to fill up as we left). I was glad that I could sit next to my husband at our table so that we could talk.

We were left with a high impression of the delicious food and the kind service. We'd definitely eat here again.

Wow,what a nice place. Had a business dinner here tonight. We had the cheeseburgers egg roll appetizer, an I had the Steak Fettuccine. Bothe were fantastic. Our servers, Elena and Colleen, were super friendly and did a great job. I’d highly recommend stopping in and giving Five West a try.

My husband and I love Five West! His family lives in Rochester and we go when we can. The food, service, and atmosphere is always pleasant. We decided to do a tasting for our wedding since they also cater and we were blown away. We immediately booked them. Unfortunately, we live in Milwaukee and had our wedding near Red Wing, MN. Our point of contact, Joe Morris, was always timely and through with emails. Looking back, we may have sent more e-mails than necessary (we had our venue drop the ball on us on many promised amenities) but Joe was always professional.

The food that was served on our wedding day was delicious! Our guests ordered the MR red Demi-glazed steak, Boursin cream chicken, and pasta primavera. Everyone loved their entrees. I was very impressed that all MR steak came out MR. The wait staff worked well together and were so sweet! One even held onto the train of my wedding dress at the beginning of cocktail hour so I could get a drink!

Very convenient next to my hotel. I had a beer and the maple bourbon chicken and waffles. Sat in the patio/bar area. Food was good and server Ben (I think) was friendly and not overbearing and provided helpful info on the menu and portion size. I would visit again for sure.

The crowd outside is there for a reason! My wife and I were in Rochester for our niece’s 9 am swim meet. We wanted to do brunch afterwards and asked a Rochester co-worker about her favorite places. Five West was right at the top of the list.

The wait was about 15 minutes when we got there on a Saturday morning. We decided to sit at the bar to skip the line. Great place for brunch! I had the meat lovers scramble. It was a really interesting and unique combination. Highly recommended.

My wife also loved her breakfast burrito. Really great flavor. Really the only complaint was that it was too much food! Stop in!

Very wonderful service and food. Served quickly but not rushed. It was great! The cocktails were great, had the bohemian raspberry and the peach sangria! Entrees were flavorful and great portions. But the drunken blondie was the dessert to beat! Go here if you get the chance.

Five West serves excellent drinks and a nice selection of beer and wines. The brunch was a good experience, except for the extremely salted sweet potato fries and the garlic fries.
Sadly the orange juice isn’t fresh, it is the boxed one. The staff is lovely and very helpful.
Overall the food was good, but not impressive enough to pay the price they charge, but as a bar I found it a great diverse option.

Nice decor and friendly staff. The flatbread pizza I had was great.

Excellent dinner while visiting nearby Mayo Clinic. Staff was very accommodating. Tyler & Ben deserve recognition. Good food, steak Tacos. Will definitely return when back in Rochester.

This is the update of my previous review. We are still amazed with quality and taste of food here! Five West brings always updated menu and new dishes, still all very tasty! Keep up with inventing new meals!

We are visiting Rochester once a year, and a stop at this restaurant is already a must. We ordered several appetizers and main dishes you may see in the photos and everything is sooo tasty!

It was also great to be able to sit on a patio as we had a nice warm day in October. I can’t wait to come back to this place!

First time here and the reviews did not exaggerate - it was great! Large portions cooked perfectly. Service was wonderful, decor was modern, restroom was clean. We had brunch outside and the view overlooked a lovely wetland.

Great place. The service was AWESOME. I had the Twin porkchops, very hot food and great taste. Our waitress was so attentive to our needs. I can't remember her name but she has a nose ring. It was our anniversary and she made me and my family feel at home. The staff was so friendly. The prices are reasonable. I hope when you go you have the same experience. We also ordered the Nachos. Very good. The burgers are great as well.

I LOVED the food it was so delicious I couldn't get enough. The people were super friendly and eager to help you navigate the menu. The cheesecake is insane and I recommend you try it.

We stopped to check out and have a drink on patio. Brandom was great with making, serving and sharing conversation. Interesting delicious drinks. We had summer mule and rye'd to Saturn. Back to hotel . Back for dinner and Hannah is a great server. We had potato crusted walleye dinner and grilled Mahi Mahi dinner. Enjoyed drunken Blondie dessert. Yum! All was great. Families with children came in and we enjoyed that this is a place for everyone. Due to high ceiling it does get loud. Handicap accessible but doors do not have auto open. We also saw that they have a private room for personal parties. A large bar area as well.

Celebrated my wife's Birthday last night. Our party of 16 ordered all across the menu and our server Ashley never missed a beat. The food was all delicious and wonderful in plating, temperature and presentation. The pastry chef crafted an amazing White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake that was insanely delicious. Whether just us two or a group of 16, we know Jonathan and staff will deliver a memorable experience. Mustang Johnny thanks you all.
