Canadian Honker Restaurant

GO EAT HERE. Our whole experience was amazing. It was very busy but the noise level was tolerable. The cheese curds were amazing, actually ALL the food was amazing. Our waitress was super friendly and had great suggestions. It’s on the more pricey side, but worth it for sure. I highly recommend the dessert and wild rice soup!

Stopped in after a long day traveling, was seated immediately and greeted warmly by our waiter - Sawyer. we opted to have dessert only, and he didn't seem put off by us not ordering a full meal. My wife had Apple Crisp with ice cream, and I had a Turtle Hot Fudge Sundae (both pictured.) Excellent treat to end our days. Good job, Canadian Honker!

Cassie at breakfast was so amazing. She always took great care of us. She was helpful with my dairy allergy as well as my gluten-free allergy. We really enjoyed the food and her as well. It'd be great if you had some sugar-free coffee flavors. Jeff was also amazing in the evening. He went above and beyond his job. Thank you so much both of you.

The waitresses are so great! The Portabella Swiss Burger was AMAZING!! Cooked to perfection!! The bakery soft bun complimented it nicely! The homemade chips are so good also!! 😋

We had a really tasty chicken pot pie and turkey sandwich. The server was great. It is extremely convenient (across street) to St Marys hospital. Great comfort food menu.

One of Rochester best places for breakfast. Has a great location across the street from St Marys hospital. Walk out the North entrance to access easily on second street. Parking options available too.
Full Menu and bar area. Meals have a home cooked family feel. Coffee is good too. Breakfast prices are most economical meal there, as with most restaurants- but this one is delicious too.
Don’t forget dessert. They have a bunny cake that’s is their most popular dessert. It’s a white cake, with coconut. I’m not a fan of coconut and I like it. Generous sized desserts, you can actually share.
Staff are helpful and kitchen crew are used to making meals adaptable to special diets while staying in town attending appointments. Example used to making a dish without cheese, or changing the sauce to accommodate diet.
They have nice to go boxes if you need to take with you. They even put in paper sack so you have a way to carry. Very helpful for the hospital patients visiting.
Prices are reasonable and it’s a quite place to visit at night.
Only complaint is the wooden vertical birch sticks as decorations- they are VERY dirty and dusty. It’s unappetizing to have to set by them or if you happen to be a immune compromised patient.

Everything about this restaurant was PERFECT.
Our server and her helper were super nice and professional, and the food was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend this place!

Our waitress was Mandy S and she did a phenomenal job, best service I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. Food was great, sandwich soup combo was tasty. Best cinnamon rolls of any restaurant. Chocolate cake great too.

Service from this young man was outstanding. Food was delicious and felt like a home cooked meal, just what we needed after an exhausting day at mayo. We got the beef tips gravy and potatoes and chicken mushroom with potatoes. Outstanding dishss

I have a gluten allergy and found them to be extremely accommodating. They had a designated gluten free menu and took great care in preparing the food. There were some nice choices and what I ordered was delicious.

Great place for lunch. I have been here twice for lunch and it has been fantastic. Very friendly staff and great service. I had the Reuben sandwich today with chips. Great tang on the corned beef. Saw the peanut butter pie and had to order that as well. It was fantastic. Like every restaurant in Rochester, it’s a Pepsi account.

Awesome restaurant. We visited back last fall and knew just where we wanted to dine while visiting again. Both times was very pleasant, food was delicious right down to desert, servers and waiters very nice. I had the ice cream off the apple crisp due to a diet restriction my mom had for the evening and she shared part of the crisp with me which was actually a full plater of crisp so this picture is not an actual serving.

I can’t even guess how many times I’ve enjoyed “Feasting” with my neighbors and former work comrades for breakfast at the Honker. The consistently great food, friendly and competent serving and cook staff, and respectful, respected and hospitable management make this a special place to dine! The values that this establishment are based on are apparent in every meal and smile served— by wonderful people who now feel more like family!

The eggs Benedict and salmon Benedict was amazing! Great atmosphere, we sat outside with our dog and the waitress brought her a water bowl. Definitely come here.

Food was prepared and delivered fast. Ordered the hot beef sandwich. It was by far the best I've ever had. Everything we ordered was exceptional!! My wife got a mushroom chicken dish with mashed potatoes and a marsala style gravy, and it was absolutely phenomenal. It is almost in a class of its own nothing to compare it to. Then we got mac n cheese which was ridiculously amazing and beef veggie soup and it to no surprise was fantastic, best I've ever had. This is one of the top 3 best restaurants I've ate at in my life. I've traveled the US and Canada, don't pass up the Canadian Honker!

We had breakfast here while staying in Rochester. They had great breakfast options. The prices are reasonable. The food was amazing. Our waitress was wonderful. The restaurant was very clean. It is also conveniently located across the street from the Mayo Clinic. This was a great way to start a long journey home. I highly recommend trying this place out.

This is a wonderful restaurant. Great regional decor and outstanding service that relaxes you and makes you feel you are at home. They love serving their guests. Even though we were there at peak time on Friday all you can eat fish and shrimp night, AND we didn't order that, our food was timely, looked and tasted great. And the hot fudge Sunday was great! Excellent location, across from St. Mary's hospital.

We visited here while I was at Mayo Clinic. It was recommended by friends, who also ate here, while patients at Mayo. The food is good, if you like Southern type food, which we do, on occasion. Just remember, the portions are huge, We shared an entree and still had food leftover. The food tasted wonderful, or as much as I can tell. Lost my sense of smell with covid, 3 years ago. Unfortunately, once again, I forgot to picture the food, sorry.

My only complaint is that the Biscuits for the Biscuits and Gravy were not hot, they were more cold than warm.
